We moved to Stayton just weeks ago and found we never had keys to the huge garage roll up door, nor to enter the house from the garage. We called Joes Locksmith services and Dave took the call. He asked when a good time for us was available, and I replied Now!. His next words were the best. He said, do you have any idea of the type of lock it might be?, and I replied "Upper end Kwikset, and the roll up door is a sliding latch system. He then replied "perfect, I'm on my way" Needless to say, in 20 minutes he arrived from out of town and fixed the issues in under 30 minutes both doors. ....and he supplied extra keys, so I didn't have to go have more cut locally. Learned advice: Find another business for your lock and key needs. We had a relatively simple job for Dave: to run our security camera wires through the ceiling. My business partner had spent hours installing the cameras and getting the angles just right for state certification, and all we required was for Dave to run the wires through the ceiling pop tiles. Dave quoted us $80 an hour, which is reasonable for such work. He arrived an hour late, due to a doctor's appointment. Twice I had to call for updates because he did not think to call his customers about the extended delay. My business partner and I were in and out of the office all day so we couldn't supervise his work, but as a someone who should be a professional, Dave shouldn't need supervision. We wish we would have stayed to watch him. For whatever reason, Dave removed all the cameras, destroying the anchor points and ruining the camera angles, drilled holes in the wall to run wires through them, and most of the cameras were not reattached properly (and none were repositioned) when he was done. Several of the ceiling tiles have holes in them due to whatever he did. Basically, we paid Dave $280 to ruin hours of work because he can't follow directions. Combine that with the safe we bought from Dave and him losing the combination, which required drilling into the safe to open it...honestly, save yourself the headaches and go somewhere else. read more

I called a couple other locksmiths who hemmed and hawed about the job before declining (I guess they don't run their businesses to make money). Very professional and fast service locked my keys and my 11 month old daughter in my car having a blonde moment and forgetting my purse in the house called up joes safe and lock at about 7pm on a Saturday and talked to Mike who I guess was on call for the weekend told him my situation and he told me he could be here in about 10 min which was great since everywhere else I called told me they didn't have anyone available or plain out just didn't answer there phone. Mike actually showed up in about 7 min and had me in my car in less then 2 when I asked him how much it was all he said was don't worry about it because my baby was in the car and told me to have a good rest of the night will definitely use them again. read more

I took my van into Certified Power Systems located at; 1515 25th St SE in Salem with VERY negative results. Certified Power Systems was to replace a broken ignition key and program a new one for me van. The key was cut wrong and instead of cutting a new key Certified Power Systems used force and broke the ignition cylinder of the van. They refused to make the needed repairs causing me to have the van towed. The police had to be called to get Mr. Emig to even release my van to me. I had the van towed to Joe's Safe Lock and was ABSOLUTELY THRILLED with their service. This company was not only polite and respectful, but the fees were less than quoted elsewhere. The customer service is OUTSTANDING . The repairs were made in a timing fashion and done correctly. I would HIGHLY recommend this company!!! Great job, guys! Thank you! I will give Joe's 2 stars for prompt service. I locked my keys in the car, called at 5:20-5:30pm on a weekday which is apparently "after hours." Was charged 60% more than I or anyone I know has been charged for a vehicle lockout (out of 5 other instances to put it in context, one of which was less than two weeks prior - ON A SUNDAY and that business was 20 miles away from the person's vehicle). But, I was 50 miles from home so I had to buck up and eat the cost - fine, it was my mistake. I was glad someone was available to save my bacon. However, apparently the person didn't have the air cuff that gently pries open a door so that the lock can be triggered. The damage to my car door edge and the paint on the inner door frame is way in excess of the already over charge. 6 inches of scratches down to the metal. All I have to say is that if you don't have the right tools, don't take the job...or you better offer a good discount for ripping a door to heck in the process of hammering a hard piece of plastic into it repeatedly. Saying "Oh wow, yeah, that isn't good" just doesn't make up for it. Thanks I think, but I will have more patience next time and call someone else! read more
