At first I was in love with the concept of clutter: a flat monthly fee to store my clutter and have a free pick up at a free delivery and a temperature safe controlled warehouse where my items would be stored in their own space safe from harm - and if my items weren't safe they would be replaced or I would have a replacement check. None of that is true! Complete fraud. Every single delivery back to my house has delivered a broken item or someone else's item. Yes, you could call and complain to their customer service line as they suggest and several of the responses on the site, but the customer service team is not in power to help you, replace your item or give you full value for replacement cost. They can't even explain how your items are stored or why they broke in the first place. I can. They break because these guys as several other reviews state, are not professional Packers. I even interviewed a few: minimal training and mostly intermediary jobs for the non-professional . CLUTTER IS AN APP NOT A PROFESSIONAL MOVING SERVICE. The latest breakage from Clutter was a $1200 lamp delivered in pieces, in a box with packing I actually paid for after being assured by customer care and the movers that morning that the upmost care would be taken in the packing and storage of my Tiffany lamp. All lies. Today I will get five dollars for that lamp because that's how much it weighs. I've also investigated the UCC rules and regulations for companies such as Clutter and they have violated numerous provisions in their veiled attempt to operate as a certain business. I fear for writing my review because I actually still have some valuable antiques still stored with this company that I can never replace because they are generational gifts. My mistake. You are much better off with a local moving company and using a local storage shed even if it is not the most convenient. read more

Beware of this company. The monthly rates are alarmingly low because the profit is derived elsewhere. To store your items with Clutter, they must be packed a certain way. And by certain, I mean crazy. Environmentally wasteful. Strange. Stupid. So. Stuff in boxes is fine, but anything, literally, anything else will be wrapped in blankets, plastic and masking tape. By the Clutter team. Or they wont store it. Don't want your ottoman wrapped in five layers of masking tape and plastic? Too bad! Clutter wrapped my kitchen table in plastic and a blanket. Same for chairs. And a chest of drawers. And a couch. And a footstool. And the rickety bathroom shelving I've attached photos of. Here's the catch: you pay them an hourly rate for the labor and can't decline it. You pay for the time they spend wrapping non-fragile items in plastic. I'm for real. I arranged to store items from a one-bedroom apartment with them. I self-packed everything into boxes. I labeled everything. I organized every box into room-specific piles. Then, Clutter took over 5 hours, at $300/hr, to wrap things like a rolled up rug into a blanket sealed with plastic and tape. Total cost to pick up items I'd already packed into boxes: around $1700. Again, for a one-bedroom apartment. No appliances. No big heavy items. Boxes and basic furniture. Over five hours! $1700! To pick this shit up! That's before it was even stored! Fast forward to the drop off. They don't take the plastic off for you--if you want that to happen, you again pay the hourly labor rate (around $300). If you ask them to leave the plastic on so you don't have to pay the labor, you are charged for the blankets they used to wrap the stuff in. About $5/blanket. There were about 30 blankets wrapped around my stuff. Including a floor rug. I went ten rounds with this company trying to understand how this could possibly be right. I am now out approximately $2000. I stored my items with them for about 2.5 weeks (after the initial $1700 charge, I couldn't afford to keep them in storage any longer). Take a look at the photos I've attached. This is the packing and plastic labor you pay $300/hr for. I'm waiting for someone to call me and tell me this is an elaborate joke, but instead, I'm left feeling utterly confused and frustrated. This was one of the worst costumer service experiences I've had. I have some mobility issues and explained time and time again that I wouldn't be able to unwrap the stuff myself, that I didn't want the plastic in the first place, and that I couldn't pay them $300/hr to take the plastic off. They wouldn't budge from the hourly rate. I am f***ed! I did manage to get them to knock off $180, so I guess that's something. Guess what? Some of the stuff wrapped in plastic is broken. Clutter has been stellar. I recently moved houses with over 500+ boxes. Furniture weighing over 350 lbs, four 75" LCD screens and glass pieces over 9ft long which I had to store for a month. Sure there were hiccups with billing (which they were quick to resolve) and a couple of lamps had some damage (in transit from the warehouse). But overall I was pleased with their work. WARNING!!!!! WARNING!!!! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. SO MUCH DAMAGE!!!!! I used clutter in July 2019. I had my stuff with them at their Fontana location until 1/2020. When I saw my boxes I was in shock!! Almost all my boxes were crushed and looked like they had been thrown. My husbands tools just thrown in boxes....if you like your belongings please avoid this company. I wish they could be held liable in court for all the damage they have caused to me and to others. I'm am appalled at how they treat their customers items. Upon receiving my items I noticed that I had some damage property. Among the property I had damaged was a vintage 1950s Metz made dresser worth well over 1,500 my set combined was worth well over $4000. Now that my dresser is damaged it makes my set worth nothing. I had to go buy a whole new set. This antique is irreplaceable. The item was completely destroyed the front of the dresser cracked into pieces. I had furniture repair people come take a look at it and they told me that there was really no way to fix it and make it 100% that the item was not worth anything anymore. I also had damage to my very expensive nice farm style kitchen table I also had damage to some bookshelves. Upon opening boxes I came across two crushed iPads amongst dishes. I tried to file a claim for the iPads and they told me since clutter did not pack the boxes they would not file a claim. I opened a box today clutter did pack and found my heirloom blender that my deceased grandmother left me totally crushed and pieces smashed in. This was a kitchenaid stand alone mixer. Totally solid and heavy . It is trash. I contacted (Clutter) and they gave me a pay out for my dresser my kitchen table and my treadmill that they damaged my payout was $2300 clutter only gives you a max payout of $2500 even though you pay a monthly insurance through them. I tried to file a claim for my two broken iPad but they told me since Clutter didn't pack them they wouldn't honor my claim. So tell me (Clutter) how would all my other boxes full of glass and stuff looked as your team packed it. Their customer service is great but their insurance policy is terrible their movers are terrible and their storage is terrible I would never ever ever recommend this company. The damage they have caused my furniture, and my belongings, some of which is irreplaceable and sentimental is unacceptable. I'm absolutely devastated my vintage furniture is now worthless. I can not even have it fixed. I have spoken With customer service but since I'm almost at my max out coverage they told me to go through my insurance policy on my home well my insurance policy has a $500 deductible which clutter will not pay so now I have to pay my own money to have things fixed that clutter broke I cannot even explain how upset I am. The first time I packed all my helpings and only left the larger items and dishes for them to Handle. When requesting to speak to a manager I received zero call backs. If I could I would give them negative stars. When I signed up with clutter their pride was that they are not just a storage company and they are storage and moving company. The customer service and the drivers on the day they packed and stored my furnitures told me they will un-assemble and assemble my furniture when we are ready to move in to our new home. Moving date came along after 6 months and the driver or lead manager said since June they are no longer assembling furniture. This should've been applied to the new client. But i honestly didn't want to drag it and said okay. Their customer service attitude changes from the moment my things were out of their storage. They were so nice and helpful before and after we were done they became so rude and disrespectful. When they start bringing my furnitures in I noticed one by one that all our furnitures have been damaged to an extend that it's unreal. Most of my furnitures were about 1 year old and everything is chipped, broken, scratch, and damaged. I am not accepting the claim and going to take another route. Stay away from this company. Clutter is an amazing service!! They are available Monday-Sunday for customer service and deliveries! We just had our items from a self storage unit transfered over to Clutter. The unit size we have with clutter is the same size as the self storage one we had yet it is about $50 cheaper! This includes the labor, help with packing and delivery. If they're not cheaper they'll even do a price match... so you'd be crazy not to go with Clutter and all the services they have to offer for that price! They also have these incentives/offers for more money off. It's a great deal So far I have dealt with great customer service with both setting up an account with them and picking up my items. Cyrus was great at answering my one million questions and Robert, Bobby and Chris were quick to get my items out of the storage unit and properly cataloged. I had a good 10 large boxes worth of smaller items that needed to be grouped together, photographed and packed. They took their time but were super efficient with it and were able to pack it up quickly. If I don't count their lunch break, it took them about 1.5 hours to take 100+ boxes and items out of a storage, pack up to 10 large boxes and take pictures of it all. Not bad at all! Robert offered great advice on how to group some items together so that when I needed them later they would be much easier to find and request. The team was very patient too. They calmly handled my questions and concerns leaving me feeling confident that my items were in the right hands. I may do an edit of my experience in a few months after I am able to request items and send some back. P. S Don't forget to tip the Pick up/Delivery crew! They work so hard!! read more

Delivery was great! Very happy to finally moving back home. Some damages were done to some furniture, but nothing to do with the recent delivery. I believe it was done by CLUTTER , when they took away the furniture as well as the way it was stored. I really don't believe they were careful at all in the way the movers took the furniture away. I am pretty disappointed with that. But flash forward 2.5 years later. The delivery service was quick, easy and efficient. Anthony was great at communicating and made the delivery go very smooth. Both Anthony and Axel were friendly, kind and careful with bringing my furniture back in to the house. But when it started to get unwrapped that's when we all noticed the damages. Two/out of three of our pieces were brand new (before we had to move and put our stuff in storage.) And our third piece was about a year older but again damaged. Truly believe that the movers from 2 + years ago didn't place the furniture properly or carefully that it cost us significant damage. Other than that giving Clutter 5 stars because of Anthony and Axel's delivery service today. Wanted the update at the top: Update - I had 13 items delivered, 4 of which were damaged. 65 inch tv, 1.5k bed frame destroyed, and 200 dollars gaming chair missing the wheels. Oh and I got charged 226 dollars for the movers to file claims on my behalf and 200+ dollars a month to store broken items. Stay away I have used clutter in the past and used them again but after this experience I will never use them again. They are expensive but I used them because they were a premium service that is suppose to make moving pretty painless, but not this time. I have items in storage that I need moved to my new location, I have some large items at my current residency that I need moved to the new location, and was going to switch out stored items and booked a pick up and store appointment for the 27th, 4 days out (couldn't schedule earlier due to my apartment complex so partially on them) and told the team I would need assistance. Well the team informed me they could only do the pick up and delivery to one location and has me cancel my appointment after explaining to them my needs as my most important issue is getting my items to my new spot on that Saturday. They made me schedule a moving appointment now to pull all my stuff with the earliest of 2/4 which would mean I would be paying for my apartment unfurnished for almost 2 weeks. They got this changed to the 29th (so 2 days later) because they apparently have openings not listed. However, I am now unable to get any of items from my current spot to new location. They were trying to force me to book a second moving date for my current items and I told them absolutely no way. The agent was not very helpful and did not understand my needs very well at all and was unable to properly prioritize how to best help me. Additionally the fact that you can make 2 reasonable stops is illogical giving that it makes perfect sense that you might have gotten items that you wanted moved to a new location from previous one since opening up a storage facility. Now I have to figure out how to get my items down there myself, incur additional costs, pay for an empty apartment for an additional 2 days, AND they lost out on reoccurring revenue because I refuse to store anymore items with them (as I was going to store some new items) given this experience. Find a different service, too expensive to be incompetent read more

I'm literally speechless. If I could give negative stars I would. These people absolutely trashed our stuff and broke things clearly marked fragile such as my parents wedding bowl from 35 years ago. Cabinets were chipped, stereo leg dented, fragile plates and cups smashed, and a whole grill destroyed just to name a few things ruined by Clutter. Neatly packed wardrobes were rifled through with clothes literally all other the place not just displaced by handling it. The people delivering and picking up the stuff were nice, but those warehouse people must have ruined it. If you value your things I would stay far away from this business. BEWARE and watch your bank account especially on the day Clutter returns your belongings. They withdrew $371.00 as "set up" charges and $455.00 as "moving cost" .
