Extremely knowledgeable instructors keep everyone motivated to work out with fun music and frequent routine changes. Class pace is quick and energizing, with lots of cardio, unlike some barre classes I've tried where you just ambiguously tuck your pelvis for a while. The studio has a cozy feel and is also a really functional space that doesn't get overcrowded because advance booking is required. Classes are definitely challenging (esp barre power) but the instructors always give examples of how to modify so that people of all fitness levels can succeed. Two years later, and I still love Barre 44. The new studio space is super-airy and light, but still manages to feel cozy and inviting. With the recently-added trampoline cardio class, good luck getting rid of me!

This cozy studio off Farmington Ave. has everything you need for a great workout. This class was my first time doing pilates with the reformer machine, and Mary was sure to explain everything and help us perfect our form. She was so calming and knowledgeable; you can tell she is passionate about her job and her clients. The workout was much more difficult than I thought it would be-in a good way! Of course Mary makes all the moves look so easy, but I could definitely feel it in my legs and thighs the next morning. Even through a short, introductory session, I could see how regularly attending classes like this would help get that toned look. Drop-ins are $35, but there is a 3 for $20 deal going on now. Mary is also Barre certified, so I am looking forward to trying one of those classes, too!

She had a sunny disposition and clearly loves teaching and is invested in the health of her clients. We started with learning all the basics of the reformer and perfecting our form. It was such a smooth machine and a heck of a good workout! We worked a lot on activating our core, inner & outer thighs and glutes. Under Mary's guidance we focused on breathing techniques to get the most out of each position. I had a great time in the sunny little studio which is located only a couple minutes off 84! She also had a really fun playlist - better than other barre3 classes I've done before for sure. The studio itself is really pretty and bright with a good amount of merchandise for sale. It's a nice open room with lots of mirror real estate. The class itself was more crowded than what I'm accustomed to in New York and I found myself bumping into my neighbor a couple times which was uncomfortable. Imo they would really benefit from reducing the class sizes by 5-10%. I was also a little frustrated by the conflicting info on their website which said in two different places that all equipment was provided, and then separately that you were responsible for bringing your own mats and props. As it turns out, equipment IS provided, but that should really be updated for clarity's sake. All in all, a good and fun workout and I'll be back, but some frustrations with the studio as a whole.

The studio is so beautiful and bright, each staff member is incredibly friendly, and the place has such a great energy overall. I have tried other studios, but nothing even comes close to this. I drive an hour and a half round trip just to take classes here. The intensity of classes and supportive community is worth it. I have been a student of Mary Osmolski (owner of Collinsville Pilates) for four years. She is a terrific teacher, extremely knowledgeable in the original pilates method as well as skilled in body mechanics. My core strength, mobility and flexibility have all improved as a result of my practice. Afraid to lose wht I gained during lockdown we continued with zoom practice sessions which were equally challenging. I came to Pilates as a way to strengthen and slow my osteoporosis related bone loss. During the past few years Mary has supported me through a series of various age related aches and body challenges. I honestly can't imagine life with Collinsville Pilates.

The only downside I see is that after 2pm on a weekday the place turns into an after-school social club where llama-headed schoolboys congregate around machines and cackle like hens! There was 20+ people in the class and it was crowded and felt very superficial. Not once did I hear a welcome. It was my first time and as I walked into the workout room I saw people had weights in front of them, as a first timer | thought maybe there were more people than planned so I sat on the floor with nothing in front of me. As more people arrived, they walked in with weights. I soon realized I had to grab my own. There was no one greeting or instructing us with this. The workouts were fine and the instructor was average. There are much better locations for barre including Core Barre Studio in Newington which l attended for the first time just the day before this class. I wouldn't recommend this studio.
