This review shows it's for Bristol, CT., it is not. The Bristol Gym is doing it correctly, this…read morereview pertains to the new gym in Newington, CT. I was unable to correct it to state the Newington, CT gym. The gym is stating they are part of the Silver Sneakers program, but I checked directly with Silver Sneakers and they are not. Moreover, when I was in the gym checking it out, they were charging a couple $29.99/month each to use the pool. Silver Sneakers rules require member gyms to provide the basic level membership at no cost to the member. The basic level service includes the use of the pool. The gym is also restricting Silver Sneakers hours to 8:00 a.m. to 12:00p.m., again not permitted under Silver Sneakers rules. Management there was uninterested to say the least in correcting this. Seniors stay away from this gym; they are charging for services under the name of Silver Sneakers and are not part of that program.

I followed up via email on March 9, provided my proof of relocation (bank statement) the same evening, and received written confirmation from a GF Fitness representative on March 11 that my account would close after two final payments -- $39.59 on 3/27 and $65.99 on 4/1. His exact words: "After that you are all set and won't have any additional charges." That should have been the end of it. Instead, GF Fitness went completely silent for 2.5 months while continuing to charge my account every single month -- charges I never authorized, for a gym I hadn't stepped foot in since moving. When I followed up on May 28, a different staff member -- apparently with no access to prior correspondence -- sent me the exact same "we need proof of relocation" email from March, as if the entire documented exchange never happened. When I pointed to the March 11 confirmation email, they claimed they "never received" the bank statement. That claim directly contradicts their own written confirmation from two months prior. As of June 2026 -- three months after written confirmation of cancellation -- I am still being charged. I have now sent a formal demand letter citing the Connecticut Unfair Trade Practices Act (CUTPA) and initiated a chargeback dispute with my bank. The gym itself is fine. The staff on the floor were always friendly. But the billing and membership management operation is either deeply incompetent or deliberately predatory. Either way, if you ever need to cancel, get every single thing in writing -- because their word means nothing. I have 14 emails proving that.

I really liked this class. I do barre3 in New York so I'm no stranger to the workout but I found…read morethat the instructor I tried on Saturday morning was so nice and led a really great workout that balanced cardio, weights, and strength training perfectly. She also had a really fun playlist - better than other barre3 classes I've done before for sure. The studio itself is really pretty and bright with a good amount of merchandise for sale. It's a nice open room with lots of mirror real estate. The class itself was more crowded than what I'm accustomed to in New York and I found myself bumping into my neighbor a couple times which was uncomfortable. Imo they would really benefit from reducing the class sizes by 5-10%. I was also a little frustrated by the conflicting info on their website which said in two different places that all equipment was provided, and then separately that you were responsible for bringing your own mats and props. As it turns out, equipment IS provided, but that should really be updated for clarity's sake. All in all, a good and fun workout and I'll be back, but some frustrations with the studio as a whole.

I absolutely love barre3! I got hooked after taking one of their free Sunset Sweat classes and…read morehaven't stopped going since. The studio is so beautiful and bright, each staff member is incredibly friendly, and the place has such a great energy overall. I have tried other studios, but nothing even comes close to this. I drive an hour and a half round trip just to take classes here. The intensity of classes and supportive community is worth it. I have suffered from intense chronic pain for the past 13 years and going to class here on a regular basis has given me more relief than anything else I've tried. You have to give barre3 a try!!
