I've been going to Cloverdale Optometry for over 10 years, and I can't recommend them enough. Susan is an outstanding optometrist who genuinely cares about her patients. She takes the time to listen, never rushes appointments, and even remembers details about your life from previous visits, which really shows how dedicated she is to providing personalized care. The entire staff is friendly, welcoming, and professional. They also have a great selection of frames at very reasonable prices. I've compared prices at other optical offices, and many seem to charge significantly more for similar products. I'm also glad they moved into their newer, larger location in Eastvale. The office is modern, comfortable, and a great improvement while maintaining the same excellent service. It was my first time to visit Cloverdale Optometric Center in Eastvale this morning Jan 10, 2026 at 10am to set up an appointment. I was met by Miya who was very courteous and very helpful. She answered all the questions I had in the most professional way. She was very knowledgeable. The earliest open appointment was not till Jan 20 which I accepted. However, she put me on the wait list in case someone cancels their appointment. It didn't take 30 minutes after I left and Miya called me to say that someone indeed canceled where she rescheduled me for Monday, the 12th of January. After calling constantly just for some information, I was told my contacts were expected on the 28th. I had an eye exam here eight weeks ago and was told my prescription would be emailed to me. Despite five in-person visits and four phone calls, I'm still waiting. The only time they follow up is when they're trying to schedule another exam -- then the calls and texts don't stop. To make matters worse, they damaged my eyeglasses, took them back to replace the frame, and later denied ever receiving them. The experience has been completely unprofessional and, frankly, dishonest. Now I'm left without glasses, out of contact lenses, and still don't have the prescription I already paid for. Avoid this place. They're more focused on upselling than providing actual care or service. read more

I went to them Nov 5 2024. Got glasses by them. Within a year the glasses are completely scratched and it's really hard for me to see through them. I went to cloverdale eye clinic in October 2025 to show them and one of the girls working there said the anti reflective is all scratched up. And it's not possible to clean it. She said the vendor they used was not good and used inferior quality stuff. I told her that I wouldn't want to make my glasses by them again then. She said , now they have changed the vendor so don't worry at all and said If I had come within a year they would help but now they can't. At that point I didn't know that it hadn't been a year. That was incorrect as I had come to them in Oct 2025. I was lied at that point with incorrect information. I checked my records and my last appointment was in Nov 2024 so I called them back. I was promised a call back on Nov 4th 2025 but it didn't happen as they say their phones lines are messed up and they got really busy. On Nov 5th 2025 Miriam called and said they can't do anything. She Judged me that I had not used them properly and Accidental damage is not covered by insurance. Miriam has not even seen what the glasses look like. And what has caused the damage She said we Can't help u at all and you are welcome to go somewhere else I asked to talk to supervisor and she said supervisor has a day off today. And the supervisor can't do anything for me as well. I had always admired Dr.Susan Cheung and thought of her as a great doctor. But unfortunately now will have to take our business somewhere else and she will lose 6 patients of our family but I guess it really doesn't matter to them. read more

I told her that the prescription was not good cause I couldn't see them for reading purposes. My older contacts worked just fine. Not sure if the Dr forgot about my reading prescription. My initial complaint started when Miriam did not check in my disabled mother for her appointment and the doctor herself came out four times looking around confused as who was next and by the fourth and final time when she was looking around that's when miriam decided to be like oh well, she ( my mom) was next in pointing to her, so my question is how do you forget to check in a disabled person who was sitting there for over more than an hour and a half Past the appointment time Which delayed her medication intake, causing a whole Parkinson's flareup not only that we were fighting back-and-forth with the the receptionist due to having to suddenly pay out of pocket even though all the years prior the doctor said our insurance was covering it all. This is the first year my mom had to pay out-of-pocket when we were told that we had the option to submit the order and pay when we came in to pick them up. Sonia agreed and confirmed that we were able to go ahead and proceed with the ordering, and she would process it. However, when we went in today to pay, the glasses were not there, a lady tried to tell my mother that she was offered over the phone payment which she was not because I was listening in as I was the one who was calling on her behalf, back-and-forth between the insurance and this company She's diabetic with no glasses. But that same day when two women came in crying over contacts being in the wrong prescription an the other lady who was making a big scene with attitude about her glasses be readjusted taking up the whole time my mom was in there from start to finish got helped right away. we did not cause a scene until now because this is absolutely ridiculous to me. I have been a loyal customer to Cloverdale Optometric Center for nearly 20 years. Dr. Cheung is an amazing Optometrist. Today, they lost a long time customer due to poor customer service. I called in an attempt to schedule my yearly check up and was poorly serviced by Sonia, who repeatedly put me on hold for well over 10 minutes. When I called to request a call back since I could no longer hold, she rudely stated that I had only been on hold for 3 minutes. When I tried to explain to her that I hung up after 10 minutes and was placed back on hold for another 3 minutes, Sonia boldly stated that I was lying. Instead of making my appointment like I requested, she continued to argue and was defensive about her attitude. She refused to make my appointment and stated that I had to call back later so she could put me on hold again. I was driving out of my way to this place because Dr. Cheung is awesome but I cannot speak the same for Sonia. Once they revamp their clerical, I will consider coming back. read more

This Cloverdale optometric Center at the Eastvale location is in all probability the worse Optometric office I have ever been to, they don't follow-up with their patients, they tend to lose patients charts and then question the patient's memory about their visit. Once they acknowledged that we were seen by them we had to wait for our glasses over a month. When I asked them why it was taking so long, their response was "what do you expect with the insurance you have". I find this response to be not only degrading but extremely unprofessional. avoid this location if possible! read more

I started going to Dr. Susan when I had first moved to Eastvale as a young teenager and got my first ever pair of glasses from her. I'll be 31 this year, I haven't lived in Eastvale for almost 10 years, yet still go out of my way to come here. She genuinely cares about her patients. She's taken care of myself and others in my family for years, and has always been nothing short of excellent. The rest of the staff here are awesome as well. Everyone I've ever dealt with has been very nice, patient, willing to answer any questions or concerns I've had. Every pair of glasses I've gotten here has lasted me years with no problems at all. Never needed adjustments or fixes, always top quality and made to last. The selection is great. Everything from free (if your insurance covers it) to inexpensive to high end designer frames. Something for every budget. Getting an appointment is never an issue, their availability is usually within a week if not sooner. The exams are thorough. Glasses come back quick and I've never had any problems with them. The equipment and technology they use is always modern and up to date. Everyone here always tries to give you the best experience possible. Shout out to Dr. Susan for her continued excellence over the many years I've been coming here and always treating me and my family like we were your own. Called last minute (on the 30th of Dec) for an appointment for myself and my 2 boys and I was able to get an appointment next day. Everyone was so friendly, I enjoyed my experience there. Prices were affordable and they were very transparent. I also enjoyed that they didn't try to upswell me on things. I asked about different products and was given honest answers. The customer service isn't that great, there's no one at the front desk to help customers/patients when they walk in. I had order contacts last year in October or November hoping to get them before moving out of state, 3 of my four contacts were ready, I picked them up paid for all the boxes and I was told they'd let me know when the lay box came in but never heard anything. I reached out and there records didn't show this. I came in today because I'm in state for the holidays and they said the did receive all the boxes but can't locate the last box. So I spent $447.50 on 4 boxes and over a year later still haven't received what I paid for. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I ordered my glasses in July. I paid out of pocket for some of the cost because my insurance only covered a certain portion for two pairs. I have yet to receive the pair of glasses I paid out of pocket for. The first problem appeared when the glasses were shipped to the provider with the wrong colored lens (they're sunglasses). The office shipped them back and promised an expedite. Spoiler alert: it was not fast in the least. The second problem appeared when the glasses came back to the provider. The frames were loose and stretched out super wide. The tech tried to fix them but I returned them the next day because they simply would not fit on my face. The doctor told me it was because RayBan didn't make quality sunglasses (....that's kind of what they're known for?). I requested a refund on those frames and bought a new pair in a different brand. I was promised they would be here today (a literal 60 days later). Today I called and asked if they were ready. The receptionist told me the glasses were deemed by the quality controller to be defective. She provided absolutely no resolution nor did she provide me with any other information. I am furious with these people. Sunglasses are an essential part of my eye health and they have done nothing to ensure the purchased products would be delivered to me. read more

A female worker there with green/blue hair and glasses was scolding one of the receptionists that was sitting across the room. This is my third year with this office and I am pleased with every experience. The staff is extremely friendly, patient, and helpful. I enjoy them sending reminder emails and phone calls of my appointments because with a busy schedule it helps. The office is very clean and organized. Its located in a large shopping center so plenty of parking. Dr. Cheung is so friendly and does a great job at explaining things. I've been a patient here since I moved to Eastvale in 2013. I'm not sure what happened but the staff is in dire need of improvement, better training and better communication skills. I ordered glasses on Dec 16th 2023. I was told they would take 3-4 weeks to arrive. On January 9th 2024 I received a call that my glasses were on hold because they would cost more than originally quoted. My glasses had not been ordered at this point...almost 4 weeks later. No one up until then had attempted to call and explain this or update me at all. I had actually called a week prior to see if my glasses had come in yet and even during this call no one informed me of any issues with insurance or price increase...nothing. When I was contacted about the price increase I asked them why the order didn't go through at this point. They told me something to do with my insurance. That still doesn't answer why I wasn't contacted or informed. To me it seems as if they dropped the ball. I was told if I was ok with the new price they would put a rush order to get me my glasses within 2 weeks. That would be 6 weeks total waiting for new glasses. At the time I ordered my glasses I paid a deposit up front. Instead of proceeding with the order, I opted for a refund of my deposit. Today is January 13th and I have yet to see the refund hit my bank account. I won't get into the lack of knowledge or urgency and immaturity of the staff as my review is already long enough. I don't know what is going on in this world but people don't seem to take pride in their work anymore. Please avoid this place at all costs. read more

I came to the optometrist a few days ago for my eye exam. As a new patient I just have to say that Dr. Cheung and her staff are amazing!! Scheduling my appointment, and then coming in for my exam was an excellent experience as well as getting my glasses. There is a great variety of name brand eyewear to select from. It may seem pricey ,but honestly it's not ! The options are excellent and I'm a strong believer in "You get what you pay for". So personally, I love the selection and brands they have here. The office was pretty busy but , in spite of that I didn't feel rushed to pick glasses or ever felt unwelcome, I say this because many businesses lack customer service. In this case that was not a factor ! Thank you Dr. Cheung for your excellent care as well as the front office staff for scheduling me in quickly and making sure I was well taken care of. I am giving this office one star. Although I love Dr. Cheung, Sonia at the front office is horribly unprofessional. I called because my son and I keep getting notifications that we are due for exams. Sonia answered my call and acted very flustered and busy. We finally determined that I am not due for another year based on my insurance but that my son is due. We have the same plan so I asked her to please look at my plan to confirm. She acted put out. When logging in to review my insurance she asked for my Ss#, which I'm sure is already on file, but I gave it to her anyway and she then proceeded to repeat it out loud. Before she finished I asked her to please not repeat my SS # out loud and she gave me attitude and got defensive. I explained to her that doing so violates my HIPAA rights. She again got defensive saying there is no one else in the office. Her attitude toward me and my attempt to protect my privacy was unacceptable and escalated a situation that simply required an apology. When I asked to speak to her manager she said there's no manager in the office. She had the nerve to say, "it sounds like you're having a bad day"!!!!! When I asked for the name of her manager she became difficult. She went so far as to call me "honey". This is when I had had enough and began to escalate! There is no reason for a front office staff member to treat a patient with this disrespect. Hopefully this review prompts someone from the office to call me back because I will not be speaking with Sonia again. read more

Rude employees they never answer the phone or place u in hold for 5 mins def will not be returning. I'm on my 3 rd pair of clear glasses and they keep getting stress cracks and break I always pay abt $400-500 for lens and frames and the girl w green hair is super rude acting like I broke them.
