He's not very experienced with spending time in new public spaces and I was nervous he wasn't going to make it through the appointment. He was pretty nervous at first, getting worked up even, but Tim put Monster Jam on the TV, gave him crayons and candy and was very cool to him. You can book an appointment online, I believe. The sign on their door reads "Appointments recommended, walk-ins welcome" The haircut: Isaac was my barber. I am not good with explaining how I like my haircut. After fumbling through explaining how I wanted it, I showed Isaac a picture on my phone. My haircut looks nearly identical to the picture I showed him. Couldn't be more satisfied with how my hair looks now. He really spent the time to make sure it was an excellent cut. The experience: The inside is very well put together. Nice colors, furniture, and decor. The chair I sat in to get my haircut was comfortable. Isaac is a fun person with a great personality. Ken seems to be a fine barber, but he charges the kind of prices you'd expect from a downtown stylist, not a cut-rate-looking barber shop in a weird, unsigned building that it shares with a sad-looking sports bar off of Third St. I made an appointment today for a haircut. When I arrived and asked for a beard trim as well, Ken told me there wouldn't be time for both because his schedule was fully booked and I hadn't mentioned the beard. That seemed a little odd (what barber can't make time for a beard trim along with a haircut?), but I figured I'd just get the beard done today and come back later for the haircut. The beard trim went fine, I guess -- a lot of attention to detail (I've never had a barber spend so much time staring at my face from so many different angles), but I was really surprised when he charged me $26 for it. I'm used to paying less than that for a cut AND trim at a typical barber shop. I left feeling completely ripped off. At least I didn't have time for the haircut; Ken told me that the cut/trim combo would've cost me $46.
