All I can say is WOW. The prices are INSANE. The quality of work was OK, but not outstanding.

I got a pedicure done here about 4 1/2 weeks ago and I'm still dealing with an infected big toe. Do not let them try to dig out a non existent ingrown. I tried to tell the girl that it's okay because they always think I have an ingrown so i usually let them but this time she just kept digging deeper and insisted to get it out and that she was almost done. I never had pain before and I naturally have to nails that look like they grow into my skin but I just have chubby feet so it looks like that and I never have pain but now I do and I don't know what to do. Along with this, their floors are dirty and look like they have never been mopped so i can only imagine how clean other things are. read more

My last and final time Cloud was today. I had gotten what I always get, a gel builder fill two days prior to today. My technician was very sweet but she only put gel builder on the gap that had grown out between my nail and the previous set. The next day my nail bumps into a chair I was moving and the tip snaps right off. This same day I started to notice that the two thumbs were cracking at the tips. I always go to Cloud for this service and I have never once had my nails crack so fast after getting them done.I didn't think fixing my nails would be an issue at all considering the fact that I am a loyal customer and my nails were so obviously all breaking and this wasn't the usual product I leave their salon with. I was disappointed to be treated the way I was when I asked for them to fix my nails. When I went in they fixed the one that snapped off right where my natural nail had grown out to and then filed the other nails down. I thought I had been clear about what I needed them to do which was simply add another coat of the gel builder to the tips. Apparently this was not the case, I had to stop one of the ladies from doing my nails after she started to add paint. I asked her if I was going to get the gel builder because they were still so thin (what I went in there for) and then she said that they were strong enough. Then the manager came over and I explained the situation again after calling him in the morning to ask for the fix and he told me to fix my nails for $15. Now, why would I spend at this point, a grand total of $65 on a fill...no design and needing them to fix a mistake they made. I kindly declined to pay $15 for them to fix my nails and reiterated that I don't know what happened last time but I get this service all of the time and this has never happened to me. He then explained to me that a gel builder is just to fill in the gap, which I understand as AGAIN I get this service consistently. Based on the countless times I have gotten this service I was shocked that he thought that my nails were the standard on their gel builder fill service... breaking a day after getting them done. He told me that he would fix them this one time at no charge after I declined but that I was wrong about the standard of the service and that I have to let the technician know when I come in for my gel builder that I want them thicker. At that point I just told him okay as I knew I would never come back. All of this to say, it was just the final straw I had with them. I just find it extremely disappointing that they treat their customers like this and try to make things up when I come here all of the time and know their standards. If you need your nails done like literally once, come here im sure they will be good but I SERIOUSLY wouldn't recommend being a consistent customer. read more

I removed my nail polish from when I took a break from gel and got a straight manicure. IT IS SO BAD. my nails have never been so flimsy I can't even open a soda can without them breaking. They used the nail sander thing to clean my nail and they shaved it down so much it created small little brown lines underneath my nail. Not only that but the nail feels rough instead of smooth. I don't idnderstsnd how they can accept that as a complete manicure. Nails are ruined for my bachelorette I have to by target press ons instead of getting my nails done so it can get stronger for my wedding so so incredibly sad. read more

The quality of the work is good but the tools get recycled between clients. I didn't like that the tools are not opened from a pre sanitized package like at other salons. Instead the tools are in their cart so I don't have the peace of mind that they were properly sanitized. The price is also steep for the value. I paid about $100 for gel pedicure and manicure. read more

Last month I came in for a man pedi and Sharron (mani) and Victor (pedi) did a great job. Sharron especially was very meticulous and thorough, which I appreciate. My most recent visit, however, was not so great. Despite there only being one other customer in the shop, Hien rushed through my service and my nails look sloppy. I even brought up that a section of the top coat was bubbly and uneven and she seemed mad that I asked her to fix it, even though it took 2 minutes. My nails are sloppily painted and the surface texture is uneven and the gel is already starting to chip off. Also, I have a thyroid disease that makes my hands shake randomly (it's like 5 seconds of shaking then it stops), and she laughed at me. I tried to explain to her why I shook for a few seconds but I don't think she understood me. Personally, I would have asked "are you okay?" instead of laughing at my client, but that's just me. If I do return I will make sure that I request someone else. read more

Great affordable nail salon near SDSU. Lots of students always in the nail salon which does make the vibe kind of young, but the nail techs are really good and the prices are so reasonable that I keep coming back. It's fairly easy to get in for an appointment almost any time of day. I also love their eyebrow waxing as it always comes out perfect. I get builder gel done and they always do a great job will my fills. I've tried designs several times and they come out better than I expect each time. I also book a different nail tech each time and my nails have come out great each time and I tend to be a bit picky. You can't beat their prices for pedicures ($28 base price) or builder gel ($45 base price) plus the great job they do. Parking is a big issue in this area though so give yourself enough time to look for a spot. Also, their options can be slightly limited for gel colors and new products like cat eye compared to more expensive salons, but again you can't beat their prices for their quality of work. read more

Normally, I do not write reviews, let alone like to criticize places of business. But, I got a mani and pedi done here my last two sessions, and both were not what I asked for. While the first set was nicely done, it was completely different. The first set the artist had completely gone around what I had asked for. I won't fault them for how they looked, other than length, because I kept getting pushback and argued with when I kept asking to make the extensions shorter, only reply I got was "they would look weird short". Color was another issue, because they had only realized they were "out" of my original color right before applying the first coat. Again, other than the nails being left field from the picture I showed, they turned out quite nice, even if the length took some getting used to. And, no complaints about the pedicure this time, that turned out great. Second time I came was why I write this review. The pedicurist dug way too deep into my nail when cleaning my cuticles, and did NOT stop when I was jerking my foot in pain. I was too nervous to say anything but I was visibly uncomfortable, biting my fist and at one point scared I was going to start bleeding (i did not). But either way my right big toe is swollen and tender the day after. Now, the manicure. The color I had asked for was a champagne rose kind of color, and it came out green on the first nail, because there was a black base applied first. Cute shade of green, but again, not what I asked for. I spoke up this time and asked to change the base because of the color difference. The manicurist was not happy and got visibly irritated, at which point I think they started rushing through the rest of the set. I'm satisfied with the color, but the nail extension itself is thick and uneven, and I can see the remnants of my last polish on this set. I didn't want to cause any more trouble, so I tipped everyone, and left. But, only for the time spent, and honestly I do unfortunately regret tipping. Looking at the other reviews, maybe mine were off experiences, I actually heard about this place from a friend, so maybe I had off-luck here. I just wanted to share my experience. During this past set my nails came out very low quality the gel x was thick like acrylic thick and the glue for the nail over flowed onto my skin. My cuticles were cut after which did not give off the clean look. I asked for it to be cleaned up after noticing while walking to my car. They kindly assisted but has I mentioned my concern I was gaslighted to thinking It was my own preference not the error of their own. That everything on my nails was normal it was just me. I hate to make a negative review because the service use to be great but it just seems to have gone down the quality isn't what it was. This review is long overdue. I have been going to cloud nail for years. I always went to Sharon for my nails. She is absolutely incredible and talented. I called for an appointment and I was told she no longer works there and she went back to school. I decided to go in anyways and get my nails done. I arrived and waited at least 40 mins before I was seen. They apologized for the wait , there were only 3 nail techs there total at that time . Two of them being the owners. It took over 3 hours to get my nails done and were finished after closing. It was a subpar manicure. Towards the end of my very long manicure the owners tells me he wanted to tell me the truth and Sharon didn't go back to school and that he fired her. I was completely appalled that the owner would lie to me. I will never return to Cloud Nail for their dishonesty and false accusations. read more

I've been a regular here and always had great service with consistent pricing -- until now. I was placed with a technician I've avoided before (possibly the manager), and the experience was uncomfortable from the start. He held my hands painfully, didn't clean the dead skin around my nails (which is usually included), and then tried to charge extra for it. When I declined, he still added $5 at checkout for basic nail oil that's always been part of the service. Sadly, this visit felt like a scam, and I won't be returning if this is the new standard. read more

I have been going to my nail girl Lee for over 10 years now and we are a biracial family. Lee is far from being prejudice and the owners wife is very unprofessional and I have had to repeat myself several times on what services I want. I finally gave up and started calling Lee on her cell phone. The owners have no clue on how to treat their employees that's why they all talk behind their backs. You can reply to this but you will never get my business nor none of the family and friends that I have referred to your shop. Lee has loyal customers and I am sure I am speaking for the majority of her clients that we will follow her wherever she goes. This shop is a joke and they just want to get your money. That's why the previous owner that was with this couple probably left. They are thief's and do not take care of the shop. I really did try to stick with them but after today it was the last straw. Came in for appt during my lunch for fill single color, simple enough right? Ended up taking two hours because the nail technician could not understand what I was asking for, nor could I understand her due to language barrier. Showed her various reference pictures but still could not get it right. With various more experienced nail techs on site that could have stepped in to assist, they allowed her to struggle. I made an appointment with Tammy. I had a set of bad acrylics from another salon and she happily took them off and redid them for me. She took over an hour to make sure they were perfect and I really appreciate that. I absolutely love my nails! I've been getting so many compliments. I can say that this is the best set I've ever had and will be returning for my fill soon. There were a lot of staff there working the entire time. They do have an appointment system to book a time and I highly recommend doing that! Been here a few times and had a wonderful experience each time but today was horrible. The nail tech I had became unpleasant really quickly and she gave me lumpy, crooked, horrible thick nails for $70!!! I've never paid that much for a full set and when I questioned it she said it was $10 extra for removing my old nails (which was EXTREMELY painful & had the nails from there originally)!! I have very short peeling nails that I struggle to grow. I called and they helped me decide on gel x extensions to give a thick protection over the whole nail rather than just acrylic tips. I showed up for my appointment and they sat me right on time. I got an excellent basic pedicure that was so carefully and thoroughly done while Amy got working on my gel extensions. I showed her an inspo photo and prayed it would turn out ok. The final product is amazing! They're thicker than a standard gel polish or dip but still look so nice. They apparently last longer than acrylic too. I really love how natural they look and the time she took to shape and polish them. Very unprofessional man and he was saying he was the general manager. What kind of general manager does that in full room of customers. Made an appointment for 4:30 on a Thursday to get my nails done for my engagement shoot the next day, I showed up at 4:32 pm due to a lack of parking in the area, they asked what I was looking to get done and asked me to sit down. At 5:00ish they asked me to move to a nail tech chair and guess what, no nail tech on the other side. I waited until about 5:30 pm a whole hour of doing nothing in the chair, and decided to get up and leave since I had another appointment at 6. Yes, they were apologetic and asked for me to come in the next day which I obviously could not due to my shoot. Nor will I ever be coming back. This is not how you do business, and this is my third or fourth time coming here, and each time I've been seen 30-40 minutes behind my scheduled appointment. This was the last straw for me, complete disrespect of ones time. I understand if you are short-staffed and expect longer wait times, but please do not lie to me and ask me to wait. Getting your nails done is a treat for all of us. Something in your confidence changes when you get a fresh coat of paint on your nails. I left yesterday from cloud nail spa leaving extremely confident! Tina nailed it! No point intended. I showed her my Pinterest photo and she created it with a little Tina flair. I have tried other places trying to find another nail tech as good as the one I had before, and no one really stood out or made me feel this confident. Tina really impressed me. First, they have an online booking system, which is super convenient, + when I walked in, they confirmed the info I had put in my notes was correct. That was super nice to see that they did check + review my appt notes. I received a gel manicure with some nail art + a classic pedicure. Each was done by a different tech + both ladies were super nice, took their time, checked their work as they were going, they were gentle, + did an amazing job!
