If I could give no stars, I would. Horrible paint job- both gel and regular polish. My manicure and pedicure were rushed and the technician didn't even bother checking for symmetry. I asked several times for her to clean up the polish, and she did not. The acrylic fill on my gel covered nails was even a lackluster effort on her part. She applied one thin coat of acrylic and didn't even things out - I'm left with lumpy and weird shaped nails. I will not be back here again (despite living in close proximity) and will not recommend to others. read more

I came here once because I was in dire need of acrylics before an event and it was a Sunday night at like 6:30 and Super Nail was open, thank goodness!!! I got the cutest acrylics and the lady that did them (I forgot her name) was so sweet and gracious. I can't get acrylics anymore because of my job, but now I come for the pedis! They're so gentle and what I love is: you choose a scent for your pedi! (Cucumber, green tea, lavender, etc). The scent includes the bath salt in the water, the leg mask, and the lotion and the scrub! Unfortunately, tech took extremely long for the pedicure and I had to leave before applying any gel on my toe nails. Once she did it on my right foot, I instantly asked for it to be removed due to pain which she did. So I called for an appointment and got in right away, I was pleased with the quaint little shop and was immediately set to soaking for my pedicure. Water was a nice temperature and I opted for the cherry blossom scent. It was a little box kit so everything was cherry blossom scented from there in. Rose did a super wonderful fabulous job trimming, clipping and sanding down my feet. She even got the ingrown corners with no pain on my part. I paid for extra massage time and it was well worth it. Good pressure and nice focus on the foot itself. Tammy did my nails, a full set, and she was very attentive. They feel strong and look good. And since I'm all about the bling, this time I was able to get a beautiful flower on my toes and nails. The cost was easily affordable. read more

Happy they gladly accepted walk-ins but based on the level of customer service, I can understand why they were empty. When I had called I was quoted for $35 for a pink and white full set, when she glued the base-nail down the nail tech quoted $40. Which was fine but by the time I showed the design, she charged me an additional $8. I've gotten this design a handful of times at other stores recently but the run-around between the nail tech and the owner trying to justify the price was a very strange situation and ultimately the owner said she'll charge $35 because they're short. The nails and design turned out fine (after numerous failed attempts) but honestly I won't come back as I know this set isn't worth $43 + tip. UPDATE: I got these done on Friday and two have already fallen off by Monday afternoon. Will never waste money here again. :) read more

The two times that I have gone into the salon, time is poorly managed, I never know what time I'm getting a seat, and if they feel rushed, they'll do your nails like crap. Prepare yourselves for quite the HORROR story!! I came here with a girlfriend of mine thinking we were going to have a nice relaxing day at the nail salon. Little did I know that this would be quite the opposite. I had requested an orange french tip with a deep C... NOT cuts, overfilling my natural nail bed/ cuticle (using an electric bit, hurting my live skin), and multiple air pockets. I asked the nail tech, several times, if she could fix the bubbles and she said it was expected with the acrylic. I immediately knew something was up because what type of nail product is designed to create flaws? Mind you she tried changing my opinion on the design on two separate occasions, suggesting the classic white tip or a solid nail color. I would've appreciated full transparency if she was not confident in delivering a colored french tip. The torture really began when she used alcohol to clean my nails. This part is not supposed to hurt when done correctly, but my nail beds and cuticles were so badly trimmed. Alcohol was seeping through my skin and into open wounds. After the torture I was told the pain I had endured cost me $45..... that's right, $45!!! I spoke to her and said I was not willing to pay $45 for nails I had clearly expressed my disappointment throughout. She said "ok, $40" still not worth $40 with the torture and awful final product. read more

This isn't my usual nail spot that I go to but I went here with some friends a few Fridays ago for a manicure. I didn't have an appointment but was luckily serviced right away. The lady who did my nails was quick and did a pretty good job. I was happy with the way my nails turned out. I believe it was $11 for a manicure. So why the 1 star? Here's the thing. They do accept card for payment however tip is cash only. We all know they can actually take tip by card but it just means they don't want to pay taxes on it aka Tax Evasion. I wasn't prepared to have extra cash since online it said that they take card payment but the lady insisted that tip is only cash so I ended up giving her a bigger tip than I actually wanted to since that was the only bill I had. Lastly, it was confusing how to pay since my nail tech took my card while I was still seated and she rang it up in the front and took me back my receipt which was fine. My friends assumed that they all pay in the front. My friend got a mani-pedi and while she was walking up to the front of the salon to pay, her nail tech who was now servicing another customers shouts out, "HEY! ARE YOU GONNA PAY ME?!" how frickin rude is that?! she was making it seem like we were gonna run out and not pay her. You can obviously tell by our slow pace and us lingering in the front that we weren't trying to nail and dash. You can't accuse people in front of customers. I can see why they have negative reviews. She's also the one that does the waxing, so if you don't get her, def ask for her. I normally get matte acrylic nails but today I decided to be adventurous and try chrome nails. Very disappointed. Hubby and I tried Super nails because it looked busy, we assumed busy meant people were happy with their service. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. Hubby got a pedicure. We got a pedicure from their Spa list that costs $35. That promised a lot more than they actually delivered. One important reason we get "Profesional" pedicures is because the callus remover. Well, here they let it soak for $2 minutes. Also, the price included hot stones, another 2 minutes. For my Gel manicure, she didn't pull my cuticles nor cut them. Okay, I wasn't going to post a review yesterday because I'm one to let things go, but then today I looked at my nails again and changed my mind. I had gel nails on before I got my nails done here, the nail tech removed the gel nails, but you can see in the photo that there is still blue left on my nails from the prior gel. The polish doesn't go to the base of my nails on several nails. The second coat of polish covers less area than the first coat, so there are visible lines where the second coat starts on top of the first. I can't say enough about Julie at Super Nails! I've been looking for someone who can do a great dip powder nail and I found that someone - Julie!! Her attention to detail was incredible and I came away with beautiful nails. She had to repair a lot of issues from my last dip powder experience at a different salon because of poor workmanship and the prior nail tech being just plain lazy! Julie patiently soaked my nails and carefully cut away the old dip powder layers (way too thick), until she had a clean slate to work with and she finished them beautifully! I walked in with thick, fat ugly nails and walked out with thin, tapered feminine nails. If you're looking for a great dip powder experience, I highly recommend Julie. You will be as happy as I am with the results! The salon is so convenient too. It's at College and El Cajon Boulevard, next to Vons. read more

TL;DR: Super Nail demanded cash only without warning or signage and then scammed me out of $20 when I paid. If you go here and pay cash, be sure to count out each bill carefully. I used to come here often in college several years ago and came back this time because I needed a last minute nail job, but I will absolutely not be coming back again. I came to Super Nail for an acrylic full set with gel paint (and also wound up adding a pedicure with gel paint upon their offer to do so, even though they were near closing). According to them, the services totaled $101, which I don't dispute. Considering I was a walk in and came by about 30 minutes before closing, I can't complain about the quality of the work (see photos). My main concern is with how they handled the payment. At no point before they began my service did they say anything about being cash only, nor was there any signage that said so. After they finished my pedicure but while still in the middle of my full set, they asked me if I was paying cash or card, and I said card. As soon as I said card, they asked me to stop in the middle of being serviced and go next door to a liquor store ATM for cash (they also did the same to the customer who left before me). The liquor store ATM was out of cash and the cashier could not give cash back for more than $100, so I had to go to an ATM at nearby Vons. I withdrew $120, which showed up immediately on my online bank statement. I counted the bills at the ATM and it was all there, so I placed it in my wallet. I went back to the shop and when I handed over the stack of cash and told her it was $120 (which I now know I should have counted out), the woman turned her back to me briefly with the rest of their cash take for the day in her other hand, and then she turned back to me and said I only gave her $100. What I think happened was that she quickly took one of the $20 bills and mixed it with the rest of their cash take so that she could come back and tell me I underpaid them (by $1 at that). Although I pulled up the transaction on my bank statement to show them I had just withdrawn $120, I only disputed this with them briefly because I was the last customer in the shop and it would have been me against the four workers. Thankfully I had a little extra cash in my purse so I was able to pay the amount due plus a small $12 tip. Their payment practices are extremely shady and I will no longer be coming here, nor do I recommend that anybody else go to Super Nail. read more
