Just to start off, I am plus sized woman and I felt totally comfortable here. They have multiple sized robes and shoes, so when you do get there for your services, no need to worry that 1/2 of you will be hanging out. Tables also large enough to where you don't feel you are going to fall off if you move. I purchased the Heavenly Bodies 4hr package. Package included a 50min facial, 50min massage, mani/pedi as well as lunch. If you are going here for the first time, you probably aren't aware of the tiny sauna or 2 person hot tub, so if you want to use these facilities, you must schedule them ahead of time as well as bring your bathing suit. I walked in and they escorted me to my locker which had a robe and sandals. I went into the bathroom to change and immediately pleasant scents filled the room. I changed and went into the relaxation room which is just a room with chairs and magazines. Shortly there after, went in for the facial which was amazing, my massage which was heavenly and then a break for lunch in the relaxation room. Lunch was a sandwich from a local eatery, but was probably one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. Last up on my day of pampering was the mani/pedi of which had the least of the " wow-factor ". The entire staff was nice and pleasant to deal with. The only thing, which did not impact any of the services, that could be improved was the flooring throughout. Lots of stains and water-damaged worn spots, but again, that had no impact on how I was treated. I think that paying $165.00 was a great deal for the services received. I attempted to write this review as a SECOND review, but it seems I can only write one. I had previously come to Cloud9 for a haircut and I was completely satisfied. I love the professionalism, environment, and skills of the stylist. However, this past week, I scheduled a wax service. I had the pleasure of meeting Kathy, one of the new technicians offering waxing services. She is funny and relatable! BUT IF YOU ARE GETTING A BIKINI WAX PLEASE READ! I have sensitive skin, so when I discovered she would use soft wax, not hard, I decided to get a bikini instead of Brazilian. I LOVED Kathy as a person, and when she waxed my brows, she was precise and gentle. But when she went down under, it was rough! It has been several months since my last wax, and my hair was stubborn, so I appreciate that she was meticulous to remove each one. She did mention that she was new to using this kind of wax too. However, I left with 2 bruises and extremely sore skin. I didn't mind at first, because I thought it wasn't horrible, but after going home to assess the damage, I saw it was severely red, sensitive, and bumpy. I've never reacted this badly to a wax. I spent the next 24 hours applying aloe and sitting on ice. So 5 stars overall, 1 star for the bikini wax. read more

I have lived in the Tempe-Phoenix area all of my life. Since I was 17, I have got my hair professionally cut, colored and styled and have been to many salons in the Phoenix-Scottsdale-Tempe-Mesa-Gilbert-and even Glendale area. I can honestly say that Kylie at Cloud 9 has done the best job on my hair. Ever. I have been growing my hair out since I was 17 so length and health are very important to me. I had one color, black, for about 8 years and we decided to lighten it up. This required a huge, tedious process of color stripping and bleaching. So nerve racking, but, it came out perfect, shiny and healthy in it's new ombre style. Cloud 9 is a really nice salon and everyone is very friendly. I definitely suggest Kylie as your new hairstylist. She is very nice, skillful, friendly, super funny, a good listener and she also has great hair :) read more

I recently moved to Tempe from New Orleans where I had a hairdresser for 9 years. I decided give Cloud 9 a try for 2 reasons: 1) it is close to my house and 2) I read the reviews on Yelp and they were encouraging. I got there 15 minutes early and I was promptly greeted by the girls and the front desk. Shortly after, Danielle (my hairdresser) came to get me. She was super friendly and asked me how I would like my hair done. I had a full highlights and base color. She did an excellent job! I was prepared to be at the salon for about 3 hours, the same time I spent in New Orleans. But no, I was done in 2 hours! To me, this is a plus because I don't have too much patience to be at a same place for hours.... My hair looks AWESOME and the price was right too. I already booked my next appointment with her. I just had a very negative experience at Cloud 9 salon. I went in for a cut and weave. The color turned out nice but the haircut is atrocious! I wanted something fringy and cute, I came out with a boy hairstyle. The girl who was cutting my hair kept saying that we are not communicating well and she just quit instead of trying to make me happy by styling it. I am a nurse, you can only imagine how it would be if I told my patient that we are not communicating and just quit like that. I had to go home and style my own hair and I cried all the way home. This atrocity cost me $170 and cost cutters could have done a better job for under $100. What's really bad is I gave her a tip because the girl at the desk asked me if I wanted to add a tip to my card right in front of other customers and I did not want to appear cheap. read more

I have been getting my hair done by Brittany for years now. She is amazing at her job. She has literally saved my hair from having to be completely chopped off after a horrible salon treatment overseas. I had my hair done in Korea and they completely fried off my hair. My hair turned orange and was a knotty mess constantly from them Over processing my blonde. Brittany was able to turn my hair overtime into its long and Healthy state again. She even suggested for me to get a Brazilian blowout (which ladies if you have never had one done, Oh my gosh!!!) she has done two treatments on my hair since my disastrous salon trip last year and it has seriously been a game changer. Firstly I'd like to say the front desk and the aesthetician Leah are absolutely amazing. Sadly when I booked my last treatment it wasn't with Leah, the other aesthetician was 15 min late getting me from the waiting area. I had booked a 60 min facial and a scrub. the facial and herbal wrap (I didn't ask for) was 55 min. During my service the aesthetician used the same tools on my face to dig into the community products, didn't where gloves during extractions, and used the cotton pads that my extractions were on to apply toner to my skin. During the herbal wrap she dropped the wet cloth on the floor, picked it up and placed it on my body...gross. The esthetic tray table also had a use dermaplane scalpel and used waxing strip from the previous client. I've requested only to be with Leah from now on. read more

I moved here from California 4 years ago and have tried several salons in the area. But no other hair stylist compares to Sam. She is not only super friendly, a great listener, a joy to talk to, but she is a really really really great stylist. I've had her do whatever she wanted to do to my hair (highlights/lowlights and cut) a couple times and I've loved everything she's done. When I come in and give her an idea of what I would like to try, she's totally up for it and does it just like I invisioned it. The price is very resonalble ($110 for highlights/lowlights and cut). Ask for Sam the next time you are looking for a hair stylist. read more

My friend and I spent the day here. We both bought the all day spa package with lunch. Everything was great, the atmosphere was very relaxing and soothing. The facial felt incredible. The only issue I really had was the message lady kept talking the entire time! She gave me her number and told me she does private sessions at her house. It was a little awkward and uncomfortable so that was a little weird. Other than that mishaps it was good! The lady who did my pedicure was awesome. She did such a wonderful job I really enjoyed it! I recently had my hair done by Robyn, and she was absolutely amazing. The GK treatment that I received was by far the best one I have ever gotten.  My hair feels and looks amazing!  Feri has been my esthetician for years and let me tell you - she is an expert in her craft.  She always takes her time to ensure my brows are perfectly shaped, and her facials are incredible.  The last time I went, I added a microdermabrasion, and I highly recommend!  Both ladies are true professionals, and super sweet. I am 62 years old and Tina Fusaro cut and coloured my hair in a way that has blown me away. I didn't know that my hair could look so good, or grow out still looking so good! I am really, really impressed with this lady's skill! I live in the UK and am waiting until my next trip to the USA before getting my hair cut, so I can get it done by Ms Fusaro - that's how good she is! It was my first time getting my hair done in the state of Arizona and I have been going to the same stylist since I was 19- I'm 30 now, so I've been flying home to get my hair done about every 2 months. Well I decided to try this place Cloud 9 in Tempe and the staff was all so nice- they carry Bb which is my favorite product/shampoo & conditioner- I went to MICHELLE and seriously could not be happier!!!
