(Forgive any name misspellings please!) Sky was great with helping me get scheduled and checked in, despite the fact I wasn't the most coherent due to background noise and being very tired. Lovely, patient and helpful. Same thing with checkout when I did my usual struggling to figure out the right tip to leave, not being American myself. Usually Feri does my brows and is awesome, warm, and just great- I say more in past reviews- today she wasn't available at the requested time, sadly. Today Zara did my brows- she was also warm and just a truly amazing, caring woman, it came across even in the short time we had together. I think she's a really special person. I can't say if either is "better" - only that both are amazing and whoever you get, it's a perfect place for your brows- both do amazing job, never too much, very caring and careful and even though I only had minor redness and irritation both women have taken the time to go back and put on some ointment or lotion that has really soothed me. Beautiful women, truly. Danielle was great, I imagine she's a manager or customer comfort type person? (Sorry I don't know your title!) but she was just super friendly and patient and kind and attentive. Very nice lady, and as with the others, warm, which is super important to me. Just helped create a great vibe. Finally, as always, (see my last review for more focussed stuff on her specifically,) Joselyn was fabulous and did an awesome job, was good to chat with and really really great and sensitive about accommodating me; I have some medical stuff that makes a few things tricky, like holding my head up for a minute during a rinse- she knows that and is fine holding the full weight of my head carefully, while still rinsing well. (That may sound small but to anyone with any medical stuff I think they can appreciate how much it means.) As I said, see past reviews for more on her, but really excellent and I trust her to choose the right shades etc- and adding to her awesomeness is the fact she remembers talks we had a year ago, and another ~6 months before that- crazy. The front desk person and hair stylist were friendly - that's the good. I was charged for a full highlight and cut but was given a partial highlight and told the prices had increased but hadn't been updated on the website. If that's true this place is priced as an upscale salon. I booked a full highlight but the stylist said she didn't have time. I asked for shadow root but didn't get it and the layers are so choppy that I cannot wear my hair straight until I get it fixed. I won't get it fixed at this salon because I have no confidence in their ability to do it. read more

Booked an appointment and the staff was very nice. I had never been in before and kiara was my Stylist. I showed her a picture of what I was looking for and asked her if she could curl my hair which she did. She didn't let me see my hair after she cut it and before the curls so I wasn't even sure what it looked like. She put curls in and it looked good. Was shorter then I wanted but still seemed okay. When I took a shower and was able to see the cut I almost broke into tears of how bad the layers were and the chopping of my hair. Some parts have texturized ends and others are a blunt cut off. I was so excited to get a cute cut and now I'm devastated with the outcome. Just spent 50$ on a poor cut and getting it fixed is going to be more money and a loss of all the hair I had just grown UPDATE: They did give me a call and were very nice and gave me a full refund for the cut and I really did appreciate that. The staff does seem very nice from my experience other than the cut so I recommend looking into the stylist's work before picking someone which was my mistake. In the end after getting it fixed by my previous stylist, hair grows back and they were very nice helping me resolve the situation. read more

Lanae is AMAZING. I'm usually really scared to even get a small trim. I have long hair and SUPER thick. When I get my hair worked on literally everyone almost complains how much work my hair is which extremely uncomfortable. I went to Lanae wanting more than your average trim. She was very professional, made me feel like I was talking to one of my girlfriends. I felt super comfortable the whole time and never once did she mention how my hair was a lot. I left absolutely loving my hair and still do. I can't wait to come back to see her. Ask for her! She's great! read more

I was able to walk in and get an appointment for a pedicure which was wonderful. However, the pedicure itself did not include a calf or foot massage (not even a minute of either), my toenails were painted and immediately an extreme about of cuticle oil was applied (it dripped all over my flip flop sandals). I was told I could leave immediately after or sit in a chair until my nails naturally dried, either would be "fine". After 30 minutes of carefulness, I put on a pair of shoes and the nail polish still wasn't dry so the entire pedicure was ruined. Sad. I would not have paid $5 for it if I were to do it over again. read more

I am new to Tempe having moved here from Prescott at the beginning of August. My hair was overgrown and in dire need of a haircut. Salon choices in a small town like Prescott are limited to the chains (Great Clips, where the clips aren't that great) and some privately owned salons. I looked on Yelp for recommendations of salons in Tempe and decided to give Cloud 9 a try. My appointment was with Jaki. I first met with her about three weeks ago for a free consult. She was very friendly and listened to what I wanted to do with my hair. I brought pictures of a haircut from three different angles to give her a good idea of what I wanted. She was confident that she could duplicate the cut and did she ever! I had my cut just yesterday and I can honestly say that Jaki is the first stylist I have been to in years who actually cut my hair just like the picture. She absolutely nailed it! From the length to the layers, my new cut is spot on and I love it! I should mention that yesterday was not a good day prior to my appointment. I had a rough day at work and was not in the best mood when I arrived at the salon. One of the ladies at the front desk asked if I'd like to sit in their relaxation room while waiting for Jaki. After two cups of very refreshing lemon water and three pieces of yummy chocolate, I started to feel better. By the time I walked out of there, I felt like a million bucks! I cannot thank Cloud 9 and Jaki enough for giving me such a positive and uplifting end to a rough day! Thank you ladies and I will be back! I've given this place a couple chances. They have tiered stylists but I think they need to find stylist that are capable of actually performing the job they are given. Level 1 shouldn't mean someone who can't do a good job. I had to fix things myself and it's not worth the price. My first time here! I was nervous of course but excited. It took me awhile to find a good stylist, I have lived in Arizona for about a year now. I scheduled online just wanted to get in this week. I was scheduled with Courtney and she blew it out of the water! I previously had uneven ends and a very bad choppy hair cut from a week ago so I was a bit timid at first. But she was very friendly, nice and clearly knew how to do her job. Unlike the other salons I have been to. She would talk and get to know me and still could multi-task by cutting my hair. So sad, if I could give negative stars I would. I drive about 6 hours due to all of the chaos I had to deal with due to the trouble with my hair. I am not licensed and have no idea about hair, I went to this salon and got a consultation for a perm because my hair is so flat, I have had one in the past on bleached hair when I was younger with no damage. After the consultation I went back a week later for the perm. My hair is destroyed, gum to the touch. So bad I posted it in a Facebook hair group and a very professional hair dresser reached out to me and told me to come into their salon for free to fix it. My hair is was so bad I could not shower for a week. Only body showers, if I was not reached out to by the other hairdresser for correction it would have been a chemical cut. Do not recommend at all. My hair is STILL gummy to the touch even after the treatments that were given by my he girl who corrected it. The damage is all the way to the root, I have to regrow my entire head of hair and can not dye or bleach it at all. I'm devastated read more

I love how my hair turned out! I was looking for a new salon in the area and came across Cloud9 so I decided to make an appointment, when I made my appointment the receptionist did not ask me my hair length which I think should of been asked considering I wanted a balayage since I have fairly long hair. My appointment was at 3 and I ended up still being in the salon getting my hair done after they closed. Thea who did my hair did such a wonderful job and was so patient and nice considering she had to stay longer than close time. This establishment is completely disgusting. My girlfriend decided to come to this salon for a trim and the receptionist was very rude as if i was not welcome. Instead of waiting in the small hostile lobby area i decided i would go get Starbucks for my girlfriend and once i return to the establishment i proceeded to bring my girlfriend her drink and i was stopped immediately where i was told i was not allowed to go in the area where the stylist are working. Not even 2 minutes after a door dash representative walks straight to the area where i was denied entry, i asked if i could just go back and give my girlfriend her drink and was told no again. The woman walks off before i was able to ask her name and speak with a manager I then heard murmurs of "BLACK GUY" and "NI***R" coming from the other room which was when i decided to walk out.
