I adored this spot! They penciled me in last minute on a Friday afternoon with Robin for a haircut. I hadn't had a cut in over a year & didn't exactly know what I wanted, but Robin was attentive & open in pre-cut consultation conversation to accommodate something simple that would leave my hair healthy & with a decent aesthetic! It's been nearly two months since my cut now & I continue to love it every single day! While not only thoroughly impressed by my stylist's demeanor, skill, service & personality, the ambience of the space itself was fantastic as well. I enjoyed the floor length mirrors, high ceilings, & other charming accents of the location! While I'm not one to particularly frequent stylists, Cloud 9 Salon has finally given me a haircut place that I could see myself returning as a regular client for years to come. I wish I can give 0 stars!! Me worst experience today when I visited the salon for root color. The hair stylist ( she just joined a month ago) seated me at her station which happened to be in the cubby hole all the way in the back next to a restroom ( foot away)! It was dark, dingy and smelly. It was disgusting to say the least. I was very uncomfortable and upset at the way I was treated. Later half, I requested to be moved to a different station next to the window. The salon was not crowded and there were many vacant stations!! I complained at the payment counter and she immediately notified the owner. The owner's response was very strange & did not address the issue, also did not apologize nor cared, instead she vaguely mentioned that she is planning to remodel the salon in the foreseeable future!! Pretty clueless!! Hmmmm... does she think I will be back again. She thought she is doing me a favor by providing subpar service. Shocking customer service!! read more

I'm a fan of Cloud 9. I've been coming here since it was located in The Grace Inn across the freeway from the current location. I also went to the Chandler on Gilbert Road when it was open. My husband gets me gift cards for spa days several times a year and I completely enjoy my time there, always. This spa day was almost perfect too but unfortunately they did my nails and toes before my facial and they both got messed up. The manicurist said she'd fix them if that happened. She was nowhere to be found when I finished. I wanted to return the next day but I was leaving for a long trip and didn't have time. I called and spoke with Melissa and she assured me that when I return there will be a gift card waiting for me. I appreciate that amazing service. I will be back soon. read more

Kayla is amazing!! She did my hair exactly how I wanted. Touched up an old balayage I had that was more of a caramel brown/blonde and gave it some much life and vibrance. I did some research on great stylists in Tempe because I am new(ish)to Arizona. I am pretty picky when it comes to the color of my hair and have been flying back to Kansas to get it done up until now. I found Cloud Nine Salon and Spa and dug a little deeper and looked at some of the stylists and saw that Jocelyn was good at balayage and my hair desperately needed a touch up. I called and made an appointment and luckily she had availability the next day. I got in and she completely upgraded my color. I've gotten so many compliments already, the color looks amazing! She knows what color will match your skin tone and what cut will work with your face shape. I highly recommend this salon for anyone looking for experienced colorists. I got such a good haircut here! The last time I got my haircut (somewhere else) I felt like my layers came out weird and awful, so I asked the stylist her to fix them and she did an amazing job! We got a massage, facial, and mani/pedi all which meet or exceeded our expectations. Penny is awesome and was helpful every step of the spa day. The staff is super helpful and accommodating! Everyone I interacted with was very nice. Great massage, sadly it just wasn't long enough! . Also, had a blowout, not as satisfied with this service. Stylist asked what I wanted, my response was some height and curl at the bottom for a toasted look. She then just blew out my hair super straight and curled it with a flat iron which didn't hold. Courtney is amazing PERIOD!! I have never been sooo in love with my hair. Went in for a hair cut and she did a phenomenal job. Listened to what I wanted and then worked her magic. Then we talked about frizz so I did a Brazilian blow out and it was worth every penny. I have an appointment for color and I know she won't disappoint. The salon itself is clean and aesthetically pleasing. I live about an hour away but Courtney is worth the drive. Everyone is so nice and I feel so welcomed every time I come in.
