Clothes are too expensive to be second hand. I used to like this store, but the clothing and staff have gone downhill. Employees/managers are rude and treat you like a second class citizen when you're trying to sell clothes. Furthermore, the money they offer for the clothes is an insult...$4 for a Coach wallet in excellent condition! Then they go and sell it for $35... Don't let these people fool you. You're better off donating your items. The clothes they sell are a hit and miss; several of the items I've tried to sell they have rejected because they are "outdated", yet their hangers are full of "outdated" items. Don't waste your time or money here. Staff needs to learn some manners! read more

This one's for the girls! Just what a resale store should be. A HUGE selection of all types of women's clothing, including outerwear, as well as shoes, jewelry, bags, and belts. Sorry guys, nothing for you (except that last minute gift of course). No housewares, books, knickknacks.... This is strictly a women's clothing and accessory high-quality resale shop. Clothing is neatly arranged and well ordered, by type, subtype, and size, and they even have special markers if an item is designed for a petite gal. (Yay!) You'll notice the purses are arranged by color in a giant wall display. The accessories are hung on central display racks, again they are grouped by lengths, material, etc. If you come in looking for a red evening bag, a size 10 dress, a size 7 pair of shoes and a long necklace, you will be able to walk right up to the appropriate sections in which those items will be found. No digging through overstuffed disordered piles of merchandise. Items are all nearly new condition, in style, so keep that in mind if you bring stuff in. If it's more than two years old they will probably not take it. But when they do buy, it seems to me you are paid around 15% of the resale price, and they pay on the spot. Store is very neat and clean, with a goodly number of comfortable and well appointed try-on rooms. This is not a "thrift" shop (e.g. Goodwill) but the prices are very very budget friendly. Today I got a pair of Chico's Platinum jeans for $16, another example is Nine West platform wedge sandals for $12. If you are like me and love to buy new clothes and shoes but have to rein in your spending, you'll love this place. read more

The prices for second hand items is still high. I can get brand new at Marshalls for the same or even less. As far as selling here, it's okay. Takes a long time to have them look at your stuff and very inconsistent. read more

Dear Clothes Mentor your business is pathetic. 2 baskets full of designer clothes from a new Calvin Klein skirt with the tag still on it to brand new Fenty slides, they told me they could not take a single item. Yet your clothes on racks look like a mess. You will never receive my business again because from the moment I come in to your store I'm judged from the way I appear and you can tell that's how they make their decisions. Pathetic. read more

Unimpressive. I went there yesterday for the first time in 2 years. The selection & staff have declined in that time. I was given the third degree as if I was dealing in stolen goods. It was just weird. (Maybe because they did not know me). Prices were high for worn clothing. I will not waste my time there again. Very disappointing. read more

Over priced used items! I brought in my Brahmin purse and was offered 40 bucks!! Worn twice still had the plastic on it!! That was a complete joke and an insult!! Same day I sold my bag on Poshmark for 150.00!!!! If you have nice designer clothes and bags poshmark is the way to go!! You won't be judged!!!!!! read more

Useless, waste of time. If you are taking in things to sell, don't bother. I took in several bags of popular high end designer handbags, and some hardly worn timeless style coats. All were clean, and showed no wear or defects. I was offered only $25 for a few bags. I refused the offer. I knew I wouldn't get hundreds of dollars for my used things, but that was ridiculous. I think a lot of the offer depends on the personal style and taste of the sales associate evaluating your items. Also, a number of items for sale show a lot of dirt and wear. The only complaint I have is you don't have a store in Dayton! Clothes Mentor is the Plato's Closet for grown up women. Plan on spending some time because they have it all! Great prices, good quality, lots to choose from. WARNING...Clothes Mentor is habit forming. read more

Awful! Don't be fooled by there paid reviews, we brought them cloths with tags still on them showing a prices exceeding $100 and bought new few months prior and they refused it all based on "too old style". These weren't off brands either, very nice good condition high end cloths. The lady's there don't know what they are looking for, so if you want money for your clothes please don't waste your time here! read more
