The selection: in style and mostly brand name, a solid range of sizing. I love shopping second hand and have all my life so unfortunately I've been to this spot twice, and did not find a single piece! So for me it won't be in my rotation BUT I brought a friend with me and she found some great J crew pieces. Both times the owner was extremely nice and the staff was great as well. I loved the touch of them asking your name and writing it on your dressing room and they take your pieces and hang them up so you don't have to lug them all around, THATS GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I've Never have an issue selling my clothes which are up-to-date, clean and good labels. I go by the upcoming seasons and love looking around the store for something too. The employees are great and helpful if I'm looking or trying on something too. I also feel good unloading my closets a few times a year so that someone else will love that I can't use as I fluctuate in sizes often etc read more

I wish I had read some of these reviews before I wasted time going to Closet Revival! I can 100% vouch that the owner is a rude woman who has no business being in front of customers. I arrived at 10am Saturday morning thinking that was the best time to sell because there would be less shoppers. I was asked by another employee how many containers I had and when I said 4, she looked afraid and said "we only take one at a time". Ok...then said I couldn't bring the 2nd container in until each person that came to sell while I was there got helped. Hmm the website said NOTHING about this process. Other places take all of your items and you may have to come back which is fine! They force you to stay in the store. I could hear them whispering (loudly) because they thought I was in my car. Anyway, I will spare you the conversation BUT after the 2nd (small) bag I brought in she told me "no more"! Rudely. I gave a puzzled look and asked why and she could not give me an answer. Also, I got greeted by her with no greeting. But when the next lady of a fairer skin tone walked in, she welcomed her and was very nice to her. I never expect these stores to purchase much or pay top dollar but $7 for an Ann Taylor dress and Chico's jeans? lol she will sell the dress for $30 and the jeans for $25 and I get $7? She may be a typical heartless business owner but wow, treat the people who bring you your stock better than that. I have shopped there in the past and never had to have an interaction with her. I'm only giving one star because i have to. I visited this location on Saturday morning in hopes of selling a few items from my online boutique as I have excessive inventory. When I walked into the store, the owner ( I'm assuming) approached me I asked if she was purchasing clothing today and she looked at me from head to toe and her her response was " depends on what you have". I bring in my items from my car and told her the items are brand new and from my online boutique. Her response, was I probably won't buy then because we don't purchase items from AMAZON.... First of all Ma'm, I don't sell items on Amazon. I have a legitimate online boutique. My clothes are quality with all of the tags.. I'm not sure of why it was assumed I'm selling things from Amazom when there was no mention of that in my initial intro. Furthermore, you didn't even know what I had in my bag. You just assumed these were low quality items.. Based on what?? then she points to a table and tells me to sit the items down. And says, ill still take a look but i probably wont buy anything.. so after standing there for a few minutes while she assisted her customers- i grabbed my items and left.. The whole interaction was very nasty and rude. Not sure why so many assumptions were made from the time I walked in the door. I hate to pull the race card,BUT I can't help but wonder was I treated in this manner because I'm a black woman?? *Let me preface, I do not do reviews. I HAVE to. If I could give zero stars I would. Not based on the inventory but on complete and utter chaos in employee behavior. Complaining LOUDLY in the middle of the store about sales only leads to not getting sales. Trying to force sales only leads to not getting sales. (Obviously highly commissioned). Let me preface again, if you were trying to do business on Monday 4/24, selling and trading off to buy Tom Ford sunglasses, I heard your entire conversations, and the employees spoke disgustingly, laughingly, once you left. The owner had a hard laugh as well. They told you they would ask and mislead you - they ended up saying "well, I told her we'd ask but I knew you wouldn't go for that." (And i know pricing comps - it was a really good deal. Just because it's LISTED on eBay, doesn't mean that's what it sells for! Usually it's 70% lower for the brands she had so you lost out on that. Clearly not understanding comps.) Owner LAUGHED. Take your business elsewhere, they do not deserve it. I personally asked about my designer items and how they price for buying (I have over $10k inventory) - Employee stated, well we have to make money so ... and rambled. When I first discovered this shop, the staff seemed friendly; however, things have gone downhill in the last two or three years. I almost never leave negative reviews, because I understand that people have bad days. I also want to say up front that there are still some friendly employees in the store. However, at this point, I would give the store zero stars if I could. After years of selling clothes at this shop, as well as buying a few items, it's time I shared my recent experience. Yesterday, Friday, November 17, was the last straw. On Monday of the same week, I brought clothes to the store to sell. When I arrived at the shop, there was a sign on the door saying they were taking no more clothes that day. I went inside to verify that this was true, and was told that yes they were done for the day. Yesterday, Nov 17, I once again brought my clothes in to sell. The employee behind the counter already had two stacks of clothing to go through. She told me they were really busy, but she would ask. I don't know the owners name, but I believe that is who the employee asked. I have dealt with this woman before, and she is pushy with an attitude that she's doing me a favor when she buys anything from me. On this day, I could tell from the concerned look on the employee's face, as well as by the way the owner approached me that I was probably going to get another "no." I asked anyway, and the owner slightly pushed my clothes, which were hanging on a rack, and said she was too busy. I asked her if they could take an appointment so that I would not keep driving over there. Instead of answering my question, she loudly told me she was busy and I would have to come back. Feeling the frustration of another drive plus a buildup of previous unpleasant experiences, I replied that I was sick and tired of driving to the shop only to be told that they're not selling. (Note: in the past, I have tried calling ahead of time to see if they're busy, and told they were not. By the time I would arrive - a 10-minute drive - someone else would have arrived, resulting in my being turned away. This is after they know I'm coming.) The effect of my unwise comment was clear from the look on the face of the employee, and in the way in which the owner advanced towards me. Apparently sensing a possible calamity, the employee wrapped her arms around the owner, pushing her back away from me while repeatedly saying "no, no, no." But the owner remained intent on getting to me, all the time shouting that "no one tells her they are sick and tired", and adding something to the effect that people are always coming in and taking her money. Also, by this time she had broken from her employee, and was approaching my clothes which were still hanging on the rack. She gave my clothes a hard shove. Needless to say, I grabbed my clothes and left never to return. read more

Been using Closet Revival' for awhile. I purge my clothes closets twice a year, and do it in sections. It's exhausting work esp the trying on bit ha! But the benefits are great and satisfying. When I was in line to check out, another staff member stopped what she was doing on the floor to assist. The store is organized and the dressing rooms are big and clean. I have shopped at this store for several years and have noticed a lot of negative changes over my last few trips. During my last two visits, I was not greeted upon entering, or spoken to by any staff while shopping. If it was due to them being too busy, I would understand, but that was not the case. I get the feeling I'm being judged upon entering and the staff seems snobby. They used to have lots of friendly staff who would help you find stuff or give suggestions for whatever event you were shopping for. Those days seem to be gone, along with the great inventory they used to always have. The racks have very few hidden gems, lots of stuff that is just so so...yet they are VERY selective about what they will buy when you want to sell stuff. This was my first and last visit to this store I've always wanted a Louis Vuitton handbag and thought this place was my opportunity to purchase a gently used one. I usually frequent higher end consignment shops like Clothes horse anonymous on preston road in Dallas where the pricing is fair for the level of high end clothing, bags and shoes. This store has merchandise that is more along the lines of a Chicos, Ross, Target, mixed with a bit of TJ Maxx. Most of what I saw was outdated and overpriced. I saw hunter boots priced at nearly msrp which I thought was nuts when one can just go on the hunter website or in store and buy a new pair and not have a used pair of boots. Actually the more I think about it one would be better off going to the Dillards Clearance outlet in Irving, TX where all the clothing is new and deeply discounted or Half of Half name brand clothing in Richardson if you want true deals on mall brands. I will say the staff is friendly and I felt welcome in their store. I just think its overpriced for what they carry. read more

Don't bother with this place. I took 16 large shopping bags of clothes here to sell. 90% of the clothes were brand new with tags and less than 1 year old. No one greeted me, no one offered to help me bring the clothes in, and within 10 minutes the woman who I think was the owner told me they'd gone through all of the clothes and were not going to buy even one single piece. She claimed they were all "old" which they weren't. No one offered to help me load all of the bags back into my car. As I was loading them it was obvious that they had not actually gone through all of the clothes. When I was getting the last bags I said "I don't know how you went through all of these bags in 10 minutes" and she snootily said to me that she had another person helping her. I call complete BS. My theory? They couldn't afford to buy my lot of clothing. I was looking through the racks while I waited and my clothes were all within the same brands and styles of their inventory. Their prices though are way out of line. Stuff from Ross that would've been $7.99 there was priced for $14-25 here. So glad I wasted my time and energy taking clothes here. Great store, extremely friendly staff! Was so please with how they buy clothes. Many people think this store is for an "older" generation, but it is a great place to shop if you are a young professional! They do require you to make sure your items are brought in ready to sell. I had come the day earlier and they said they wouldn't take a shirt because of the stain on it, buuut, I went home washed it, and the next day I was able to sell the blouse right away!! I had a good experience selling for the first time here. I chose this place because this has been in the community for a long time. Learning that I was a first-time seller, the owner explained why or why not she'd take each item. In a nutshell, this is a BUSINESS, not a charity. Her customers prefer like-new or new items, preferably with tags. She explained that people go to thrift shops for clothing that shows signs of wear, especially post-pandemic. This was quite educational for me, and I went back home and purged/ donated a lot of clothing that I'd been thinking was too decent to donate. This review is based solely on their business practices, as I did not stay and bother to look around. I called earlier this week about bringing product in. I have never worked with a consignment before, and told them so. I just wanted to make sure I didn't need an appointment. The lady on the phone said I could come in any time between 10am and 5pm Monday through Saturday. (She wasn't that friendly, but I've worked in retail so her tone of voice didn't really effect me that much.) I came in today around 11 and went in first to make sure they weren't too busy for me to bring my clothes and shoes and purses in. I told her I had a lot and figured I could bring in one bag at a time. They got a horrible attitude with me and said they don't take clothes from bags. Clothes have to be folded in laundry baskets or put on hangers. So basically, you need to bring them the item the way you bought it in the store and do their job for them. My aunt used to have a consignment shop and she would take clothes as long as they were clean. There's this thing called a steamer that she would use to make the clothes presentable. I figured that was consignment etiquette, why else would I pay you? To put the item on your rack and you get part of the sale? With so many apps today, that just doesn't make sense. What a waste of time. While I don't fully agree with their policies, that's not what is irritating. What upsets me is that they wasted my time by not informing me of their policies over the phone when I called. Not only did I have to drive out of my way, I'm also taking time off work. So what a waste! I DO NOT recommend this place to bring your product. Both ladies working this morning had horrendous attitudes. If they act like this when I'm trying to bring them business, what will they act like when I need to pick up my check? If you don't want to do your job, quit. Simple as that. I was hesitant to come here because of the other reviews, but I gave it a chance and I'm very glad I did! As a recent graduate with my first real job, I was in need of some business casual/professional clothing. The store was very busy and only two ladies were working, yet they went out of their way to make sure everyone was being helped and even picked out things they thought would look good on me! This was a refreshing experience for me, since I am young (and look even younger) and am often treated as such. I ended up with a Trina Turk dress, Hale Bob dress, H&M blazer (new with tags) and lands end polo all for $100! Please note, I had 4 items- all designer with tags. This allows them to "not" buy your products and still get to keep and resell them. Went in to sell a Michael Kors pale pink purse and wallet. Brand new. Lady who waited on me accused me of buying it from them, using it and trying to resell it there. They had all original tags and I had my original receipt from the MK store (couldn't return due to the season change). Very poor customer service and they like to racial profile people there even though I live right down the street and have lived on the west side all my life. I have bought cute items from them before, but my most recent trip, I realized something while going through their jewlery. EVERY SINGLE EARRING that wasn't in a case was bought at forever21. I'm not kidding. I'd been shopping for costume jewelry and went through every forever21 page for earrings and necklaces. All from forever21. They're buying from forever21 and selling 4 dollar items for 12! I was really shocked. I used to love visiting the store. I loved finding a new life for clothes that no longer fit me, and I loved shopping there. I have always saved my best stuff for this place, and expect the best merchandise from them in return. The past two or three times I've been there, however, they have become so difficult to deal with that I will not be going back again. They are condescending and will only buy during certain hours of the day, but they don't advertise what those hours are. We use to live in The Colony about 6 or so years ago and it was my favorite store to go to they were always setting things aside for me they thought I would like and were very friendly . I always spent a ton of money seeing how I'm a mother of Five girls. We moved out of the area and have been back only a few times and the employees have changed and they are the worst. One of the times we went one of my daughters had a couple vest she was going to get and was holding on to them till my other daughter finished trying on clothes and one of the employees Rudly yanked them from her hand and put them back up. Mind you my daughter is high functioning autustic so this was traumatic for her with the lady being so rude . I had to talk to the lady about her inappropriate behavior she didn't seem to care how rude she was . Today I went with my 20 year old and we were fallowed around and watched like know thieves. As well as they were having a conversation about missing crap out loud like I was the one who stole it . I'm close to 40 look younger but have never felt so uncomfortable in my life . They are lucky I was not in the mood for there judgmental racist attitudes or there just may have been a scene and no offense to people who like there clothes so much it's a thrift store that the quality is not worth the attitude I'll spend my husbands hard earned money at places who know what real customer service is. read more
