I think 15 years ago it was a tearoom and dead on arrival. Not anymore. I peaked around the corner to see what's the deal Lucille and see about 50 people having lunch. Obviously, someone has engineered a successful restaurant in here I came here trying to find someone interested in buying things I have for sale. It is exactly the type place I needed to be. A nicely currated group of " booths" with ,No Junk! That's right,this place is not a waste of time but a legit source of vintage/ antique collectables. Including furniture,figurines,lamps,mink coats,silver items etc etc. I did infact find a dealer that made me an offer on my stuff and a couple of more to contact about my other stuff. It's hard to sell things these days as interest has wained in with the younger generation. High Street Antiques is perfectly positioned to capture the target audience for those remaining appreciative and desirus of " Old, Lovingly Used, Sentimental" stuff. There were some great finds and solid deals throughout the booths. I was surprised that all the booths were unmanned, but it actually made browsing more relaxing since you could take your time looking at items and prices. Really fun spot to explore. Three staff members passed me while I was shopping and not one smiled or greeted even though I smiled at them. Zero customer service. Many of the booths were great and well displayed. BUT so many were so overpacked it looked like one of those East Texas yard sales where the stuff is left in the yard 24/7. The booths have so much potential. This company should assist vendors in displaying items. 5,000 items will not fit in a space meant for 500 (slight exaggeration to make a point). It is ok to display some items and then switch out seasonally! Some booths were so chaotic and full that you couldn't even walk into them to shop. I didn't buy anything on this trip. Pros-lots to shop and look at. You never know if there is a treasure that you need. Cons-uninterested staff. So many messy, garage sale looking booths which made me lose interest pretty fast.

I found Little treasures all over the shop and stocked up on all kinds of goodies. Be sure to look at the ticket to see what the price is currently, and after certain dates the price is dropped for consignment items. I got decorative pillows, vases, decor of all kinds. A day later I drove to the store in Lewisville to look at the piece and was greeted by Lisa upon entering. What a delightfully friendly and helpful personality. A quick tour of the various rooms and I was encouraged to take my time and explore. Lisa has a great space, great merchandise and is immensely helpful in understanding the history and value of each item. After settling on my purchase (yes the original piece plus more), Lisa offered to help locate a delivery service. She immediately contacted three options and let me choose. I use to sell vintage clothing and offload alot of my stuff here. In the beginning they've felt fair , I don't expect 80-90% but at-least reasonable pricing. It was good margins for my higher end vintage. It felt fair, 175-200$ jackets they buy for 35$-45$. The last two times it's been nothing like this. All tshirts (some worth 300$) lotted up for 5$ , 7$ , 8$ price points. The "unique " items don't exceed 20$. Some I understand but others aren't getting throughly priced. In the past it felt like i was dealing with the managers or more seasoned employees. Now i don't believe so. In the itemized receipt i have about five 100-300$ shirts asking 5-8$ when before I've brought cheaper shirts worth 50$-70$ that I received 10$ for. 200$ (average sales and sold comps) Ungrateful dead shorts got priced for 6$. That's 3% ! That's insane. When seeing the clerk I told him we are too far off. He was frustrated which I get and let me know they don't move vintage as well as other things. Understandable just not at the price points. He did ask me what I wanted for everything , I told him I'll take this else where just cause we were too far off. I do understand his frustration but it took him 20 minutes to price out my 37 items. Which means to me time wasn't taken to actually look at the value of the higher valued items. I had some lower value items mark and detailed as "unique" items , while some expensive shirts were grouped up in "men's shirts" I hope this changes. The beginning experiences I had with these guys made me want to come back again and again. A few times the guys even showed me where they got price points from and explained their process , which I really appreciated. I hope this reaches the right people and this gets fixed. I know there can't be an exact training for these kind of things. But when I use to get offered 25%-30% and now it's 1%-10% it's insulting. I don't think they are trying to pull one over on me, but it just feels like it's unseasoned individuals estimating my order and not taking time to price out what's in front of them. No hate or negativity to the individuals. Business is business and I'd love to come back for future estimates.
