I've been purchasing art from Bottleneck Gallery since their inception over 7 years ago, and it's been incredible to see the gallery, which is full of dedicated, honest, and caring folks, rise to be the premier pop culture gallery in New York! Bottleneck has become a staple of Brooklyn, often contributing to local and statewide charities through releases where they donate 100% of the proceeds. They're incredibly transparent with their communication; their shipping is the best in the business; and they put the customer/art collector first. Their customer service is not only the best in the gallery game, it's the best I've come across. They're friendly, professional, and release the most interesting and diverse collection of prints on their site! This place is awesome!! I don't find myself to be much of an art person, but that's what i love about the pop art that is presented at this gallery. It's art that I can relate to and every month they have a different theme! So far I've been to each one (they started Sept 2012) and I've enjoyed seeing artists from previous shows showcasing their works in consecutive shows. I even find that I'm able to recognize certain artists by their style! The artists also come by and are so cool to meet. The guys who run this place are awesome and so nice! The cool thing about Bottleneck is that they offer reasonable prices for cool pieces AND they donate a percentage of their earning to a different charity that goes along with their theme every month! It's great to see people doing what they love and you really feel that here! And did I mention the FREE ALCOHOL and SNACKS?! They have all different types of beer from Brooklyn Brewery which I hear are great! (i don't drink beer) They also have red and white wine along with cookies, veggie trays and bread with balsamic and oil dipping sauce! This place is always packed and showcasing some great works! I've even run into people I haven't seen since elementary school through here! I will keep coming here every month because it's just a great place to hang out, check out some cool art and just have fun! read more

Ordered the "Matt Ferguson 'The Empire Strikes Back - 40th Anniv.' Japanese Timed Edition" on June 21 for a birthday present. At the top of the order confirmation, it said "allow up to 21 days for order fulfillment," giving it enough time to arrive before the birthday on July 23. I sent an email today (July 16) to check the status of my order to which Joe (one of the gallery's owners?) directed me matter-of-factly to the fineprint of the order where it subsequently read "estimated to ship in 6-8 weeks." Had I known that and seen the contradictory and confusing fineprint, I wouldn't have ordered it and I explained why in my e-mail. To be fair, Joe obviously couldn't have known that I had ordered it for a birthday on July 23 but when I followed up to ask if they had any option to expedite, I guess he didn't like the question as he unilaterally decided to just cancel my order and issue a refund without asking if that's what I'd like to do. I was clearly not familiar with how these prints are made (I was subsequently told they are "handmade screen prints"), but what started out as an innocent inquiry about the status of my order turned into a testy gallery owner's decision that they couldn't be bothered and don't appreciate my business. I'm not sure if this is standard operating procedure in the art gallery business, which I clearly had no prior experience with, but what I AM certain of is that this is NOT the way to treat customers and NOT how customer service should be. Lesson learned. Now I have to scramble to get a different birthday present; a pity because the intended recipient is a HUGE Star Wars fan. In the overall scheme of things, particularly in light of what's going on in this country and around the world, this is really nothing. But you do learn something new about how narrow/small-minded people can be. Rather than engage in a civil discussion about how a problem or misunderstanding could potentially be resolved, some people simply choose the easy way out and shut it down - a sad microcosm of what's wrong with America today read more

the people that run this gallery are childish crooks. purchased the wrong variant by accident, they refused to cancel the order so i listed it for sale on ebay as it was the wrong variant. they made a fake purchase crossreferenced my ebay, then proceeded to threaten and harass me through multiple emails. then they began to mock me saying i was harassing them when inquiring about the order they cancelled without any intention of issuing a refund. be careful of these guys. joseph is extremely rude and childish for someone whos supposed to be the co-owner and curator. Extremely unprofessional and hope these artists move their prints to a different platform. Little update: 7:52am 7/18/2020. after Joseph(the co owner) read this review he felt the need to email me again. Then started questioning why i left one star reviews on other businesses near me, dude wtf is wrong with this place. Professional art gallery, yeah right, its ran by some idiot who likes to harass customers. Guessing he'll start stalking my IG, linkedin, myspace, facebook too. 7/24- To Arseny, this malicious software you speak of is called google autofill. My walls are filled with art. You are the one who did not cancel my order which led to continued harassment of myself by joseph. What you are stating is a lie. My screenshots show that. Emailed you 72... No that never happened, grow up. You guys went out of your way to stalk and harass me and now are making baseless lies. Bottleneck Gallery has become my favorite gallery in Williamsburg. For a pop culture nerd like myself I am in heaven. Each month they have a cool theme, (HBO/Showtime series, Zombies, groups, gadgets) and infuse it with pop culture. Television shows, movies, iconic Hollywood actors. It's a real awesome experience. Celebrities have also been blowing up their fan art displayed here, on their twitter and Facebook. Last event some of the artists even showed up to discuss their art. It's a great event to come through with friends, on a date or to grab some cool art work from something you love. You can find something inexpensive and they also have some real expensive pieces. They also have been working with Brooklyn Brewery, serving beer. They have wine and snacks too! A night here can't be beat! read more

This is really unfortunate, because the stuff these guys sell is pretty cool, and from what I understand they donate some or all of their profits to charity. But I had a very bad experience with one of the owners over a very minor customer service inquiry, and as a result, I can't recommend dealing with them. I ordered a print from these guys at the suggestion of one of my friends. I had hoped to gift it to another friend for Christmas. When I received the confirmation email, however, it said to allow up to 21 days for order processing. Given that I ordered the print on December 6, it would not arrive in time for Christmas if it took 21 days to ship. I emailed the customer service team to let them know (a) I paid for priority shipping, and I didn't think waiting 21 days after paying for priority shipping was reasonable, and (b) I intended to gift the print for Christmas, so if it would not ship for 21 days I would need to cancel my order. I received a response directly from one of the owners, and I will quote it verbatim here: "Hi Trevor, We only ship priority, so that has nothing to do with the actual prints and getting them out the door. It doesn't seem like you really follow what we do here, so I'm just going to disregard the negative comment." Really dude? No, I guess I don't "follow what you do there," but regardless, that's no way to treat someone who was just trying to make sure they would receive a print in time for Christmas. Based on some of the other comments I've seen here their customer service is usually pretty good, but I have seen some other comments referencing similar responses from the owners regarding other customer inquiries. Again, these guys have cool stuff, but it seems to me that their consciousness of that fact sometimes leads them to be rude to customers (i.e., "If you don't buy it, someone else will, so I can be as rude to you as I want."). For those reasons, I can't recommend doing business with these guys. read more

It's whatever though cause Joe, Josh and Arsney make you feel at home and not like a POS like the whispering ladies who are usually on the lines for their shows. Great little gallery a few blocks from the base of the Williamsburg bridge (Brooklyn side). We went for their 30th anniversary of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles gallery opening which featured nearly 100 pieces of art based on TMNT in a variety of media, though mostly prints. Wow was it crowded, opening night on a Friday night in South Williamsburg, and a handful of people were in big costumes adding even more to the mass of people (and rats). The show was sponsored by Nickelodeon as well as a few others and there was even free pizza! The gallery space was fairly small, just one big room and a small store room in the back where the prints for purchase were stored. From the other pictures it looks like a lot of their shows are more fun and comical rather than the usual highly pretentious works you too often find at galleries. I can't wait to see what their next show is. read more

Can't say enough good things about this place, I have never had the opportunity to visit the gallery in NY, but I've bought a few things from them online and couldn't be happier. We had a small shipping issue on a poster I recently ordered, which was really more of a poor handling issue with the post office than it was fault of the gallery, and these guys more than made up for it! Bottleneck is located on a quiet block in Wlliamsburg. As with any art space, I was worried about pretentiousness but the atmosphere reflected the chill vibe that the artwork inspired. I was there on the opening night of an exhibit with a fun concept-artwork inspired by the "greatest couples of all time," called 'Get a Room.' I definitely recommend the exhibit for the high quality of varied artwork that included current pop art that I felt spanned a wide variety of artistic styles. The wine from a box, which I have no problem with, and I like that the local Brooklyn Brewery was involved. It's also nice to have the option of something to snack on, this particular night was bread and artisan olive oil, but not sure how consistent the sponsorship is. The space and art feel very accessible to artists and non-artworld people alike. read more

When I inquired as to whether or not I'd be receiving my order I received a refund with no explanation, apology, or any info pertaining to why nothing was ever done with my order.
