I sent a photo of the part, and Nick not only had it on hand but came out the very next day. I had a scheduling conflict and couldn't be there -- no problem. What also speaks to their integrity is that they could have easily recommended a full rebuild -- but instead they focused on preserving what I have, replacing only the parts that made sense to do together rather than attempting a repair that wouldn't serve me long term. They may do a great job on repairs but the lady on the VM and who eventually answered was either having a really bad day or is just a jerk in general. Well tech comes out, and says hmmmm clock has fallen over...first we ever heard of that, and the movement is bent. We would have to take the clock guts back to shop and repair for 1200.00 dollars. OK, no issue, its something for the wife. About a month later we get a call to schedule them to come re-assemble clock. Two days later, the repair guy calls and said he was trying to clean the clock face and took the finish off about the size of a silver dollar and he couldn't bring himself to bring it back like that. He, they were going to look into how to repair that or replace. Told them to keep me informed. Two weeks later, not word so wife calls and he says no luck theyd have to bring it back. Well its back and he scratched the hell out of a spot about the size of a dollar bill folded in half right on the face. To beat that, clock still is not chiming....wife tells him we are not paying, he destroyed the clock....what kind of EXPERTS destroys a clock face if they have a clue what they are doing. He offers to take 90 dollars off.....I told wife tell them we will just se them in court. We did NOT pay and we will NOT pay. He then says being destroyed is subjective as clock is 20 years old. Yes, and it looks as though it just came from the showroom. If I bring a 20 year old mint car to a mechanic for a tire repair and he breaks the axel, age is irrelevant and it not subjective, you effed it up royally. ANYWAY, BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE, THEY ARE BY NO MEANS EXPERTS NOT PROFESSIONALS! Our next step we have decided is to take them to court and sue them.

The owner of this shop was quick to get out and take my money. I thought he was coming out to clean and service my clock. He got here and didn't clean it at all, applied some oil attached the pendulum and weights and got it to run....for 3 days And proceeded to charge me $275. My husband was the one home when he got here. He said he was there for all of 15 mins and left. The clock guy didn't have much of any toola on him, didn't recall our conversation where i told him i needed a key to wind the clock and also a small screw to secure the front door to the mechanism. He did have a winding key but didn't even have a screwdriver or tiny screw to make that small repair. What kind of clock repairman makes house calls and doesn't have those things? He didn't seem very knowledgeable about clocks when asked basic questions and should have been clear that his house call wouldn't be what I was actually looking for. Instead he got there, took our money and proceeded to tell us it would be close to $1000 to clean the clock and bring it to his shop where he would keep it for several weeks. Absolutely OUTRAGEOUS! Save your money and hire Champs Clock Shop in Douglasville. It may be far away but they are very knowledgeable about clock repair, extremely thorough, and very reasonably priced. We could have had our clock cleaned, serviced, repaired and brought back to us 90 minutes away for almost the same price the Clock Shop charged to drive 30 mins and come out for 15 mins and not fix anything. Absolute rip off and not the friendliest to deal with.
