I first met Nick in 2021 when my grandfather clock stopped working. When the same clock needed attention again recently, reaching out to Champ's Clocks was an easy call. Nick worked me into the schedule without hesitation, and what followed reminded me why small businesses like this one are so special. Nick's father joined him on the second visit, and the experience became something far more meaningful than a simple repair. He shared the rich history of the business -- how the craft was passed down from his own father, and how they've been serving their community with this rare and deeply respected knowledge for quite some time. Listening to him explain the parts and the mechanics of a clock that has been in my family since 1984 was genuinely fascinating. I also had the privilege of experiencing their annual event, held the day before we spring forward, where the chimes ring out in celebration. It was a wonderful moment that perfectly captured how Champ's Clocks has become a true staple of their local community -- a business that genuinely appreciates the people it serves. During the event, we also had the chance to browse their inventory -- which was incredible -- and found the perfect clock for an upcoming milestone birthday. It was a reminder that Champ's Clocks isn't just a repair shop; it's a destination. Most recently, the pendulum became detached. I sent a photo of the part, and Nick not only had it on hand but came out the very next day. I had a scheduling conflict and couldn't be there -- no problem. They came in, completed the repair, sent a photo of the finished work, left the invoice, and had the clock set to the correct time before they left. That kind of trust and professionalism is rare. What also speaks to their integrity is that they could have easily recommended a full rebuild -- but instead they focused on preserving what I have, replacing only the parts that made sense to do together rather than attempting a repair that wouldn't serve me long term. They have always been mindful of cost and genuinely have my best interest at heart. That kind of honesty is everything when you're entrusting someone with something irreplaceable. Our grandfather clock -- named Abner, after my great-grandfather -- is the heartbeat of our home. Its rhythm, its chime, its presence through life's most meaningful moments makes it irreplaceable. WOW!!! What an amazing experience. Andy and Chevy gave us a tour of the store and were very knowledgeable about all of the inventory. We happened to be there at the top of the hour when all of the chimes went off...GOOSEBUMPS! We took [pictures and have been showing them to everyone who will look at them. If they do not have the clock for you, then you don't need a clock. We left our clock for repair and we were told up front that it may be several months before they could complete the work. This is an amazing place to go even if you are not looking to buy anything at all. There is a lot of history at the location. I did purchase a small mantle clock even though I wasn't looking to get anything. They also repaired a clock that we have had in our family since 1902. Champ's Clock Shop may have been a well run clock repair shop at one time however, it has become a not very professionally run one today. We called and made an appointment, two months out due to their being busy, and brought our clock in for repair. Seven months later, unreturned phone calls, no quote given, finally I talk to Andrew and he tells me somebody fixed the clock and it's running (he doesn't know who) without our approval for costs of repairs, we go pick it up today and Andrew tells us the clock doesn't work. He says he called me with a quote, did not happen. If you want a professional company with clear communication that follows through, this is not the company to do business with. It will be an exercise in frustration. read more

Champs Clocks is a destination worth visiting if you've never been and especially if you're a clock lover. They have the most amazing shop and a museum filled with grandfather & grandmother clocks, small clocks, big clocks, a Big Ben clock with visible cogs and gears. It's in the upper window facing out to the road and yes, it really works. One of the most eye catching things to see is the HUGE German cuckoo clock that's probably 8' wide! They service clocks and also deliver. Nick drove From Douglasville to Flowery Branch to pick up my grandfather clock and take it to its new home in Winder, GA. 88 miles one way. He then he set it up before driving back home. You need a person who know how to move these elegant giants, not just a "college hunks" type of person. This is a very special family business who will treat you right. And what a treat you'll get when you visit. read more

As far as I am concerned, I don't know how it could be better. Champs is a multi-generational clock repair, sales, and museum. The only thing better than the inventory is Andrew and Nick who staff the store and see to it that no customer could possibly have any unmet horological need. If it keeps time, Champs has an example. Are you looking for a clock? They literally will not be undersold - by far. Are you looking for a grandfather clock to be a family heirloom or an investment? If so, you can find one from about $1,000 to over $100,000. If you buy a clock from a place that cannot or will not service it, you would qualify as a person of questionable intelligence, AKA an idiot. Do yourself a favor and go see Champs for yourself. If you happen to have a clock laying around, say your grandmother's mantel clock that hasn't run for years - take it with you. You WILL NOT be disappointed. read more

After 2 moves and months in storage, my grandfather clock would no longer keep time. Thinking it needed a good cleaning, I emailed Jeff to get him to come out. He asked me what was going on and after thinking about what he said, I discovered and corrected the problem. How many repair services help you fix it yourself? This is a unique little clock shop. It sits off the road I what looks to be a gated yard and private home, but there is a fenced area with a small gravel parking area where you walk down a path to obtain entry. The building itself is a giant grandfather clock with beautiful stain glass windows. Once you get inside there are so many different sizes and styles of clocks as far as the eye can see. These amazing timepieces of art are displayed neatly like a mini museum. It is a great place to take children to look at the clocks and hear the sounds they make. I went to have a couple of clocks repaired that I specifically wanted to accent my walls as decorative as well as functional pieces. It was my only hope to see if they could be repaired since I did not want to undertake the grueling task of trying to match and find new ones that would never measure up to the quality and style of the ones I had. I was pleased when Andrew told me that the screwy arms that only kept 6:00 as the time was a simple fix. He actually tweaked one and placed a battery at no charge which was generous of his time in itself. The other clock would take a little longer to fix, yet it was both worth the wait and the money to me. When I returned to pick up my clock, I was greeted with a friendly welcome and I was more than pleased with the outcome. I strongly recommend the next time you are shopping for a unique find with great customer service or you need to repair one of your favorite clocks, Champs Clock Shop is where you need to be. read more

Champ's are the champs. We bought our clock from them thirty-something years ago and we moved away in the early 90s. We moved back and took our clock to Champ's because it wasn't keeping accurate time. Their work is meticulous, and they are oh so honest. We were expecting to pay $450 for new works and when we went to pick it up our bill was $60. All it needed was a new mainspring. They could have charged us the original quoted price but that are honest people. Not only is their work the best, visiting the shop is an experience. Totally disgusted. Brought clock in for repair in January 2022. Checked status in June, was told not ready. Called again 9/2022 and was told shop could not reach me by phone. Picked it up 9/29/2022. Asked repairman if clock worked . He said yes. Paid him. Got it home and clock was clearly not fixed and does not work. IMO repair not made as clock still has same repair issue. Tried to come to a resolution and repairman said he did not like my attitude and hung up. Corrupt Clock shop . I'd give zero stars but I cannot. read more
