    Chili Hot Dog

I grew up eating here, I live in Florida and this is always my first stop. It brings back so many memories, and the food is fantastic! I love this place

Step back in time to the golden days at this cute little spot! Everything from the burgers to the hot dogs is sure to please. The service is stellar and the location is convenient. Dine inside or in your car for the true drive-in experience! Thanks!

My childhood favorite! When you see that big blue clock on Pleasantburg Dr you know you are about to eat good! I've grown up eating at The Clock Drive In and never change what I order, chili cheeseburger, half n half plate and their sweet tea! Their is a lot of Clocks or Chili Cheeseburger Joints in the Greenville area but this place can't be beat, they have a special flavor and quality that outshines all the rest! The food is made to order which guarantees your food to be hot off the grid and fryer! There is nothing like that first bite of your food, it makes me go cross eyed it's so dang good lol! Don't leave without their sweet tea, it's out of this world! It's not fancy dining but it's the best burgers you'll ever have! It's so good my grandfather drives from Charleston, orders 20 chili dogs to take back and freeze so he can enjoy them anytime until he runs out! Don't pass this place by!

Front counter. Order now, pay later

I'm my job I've been fortunate to have traveled around the globe a few times. I love sampling local cuisine. I have yet to find a chili cheeseburger that can match the taste of The Clock. I can't explain it. Maybe it's the mustard. It could be the cheese. Or, could it be the beef or chili? All I know is that it's unbeatable. It looks like a normal burger, but the bold taste is to die for. I visit at least once or twice every time I'm in town.

Right away, the service stands out. We were greeted and immediately offered a sample of brisket, which set the tone. The staff were super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and the ordering process has a really smooth, well thought out flow that keeps things moving without feeling rushed. We sat on the covered patio, which was clean, comfortable, and a great place to enjoy a meal. Now, the food. This is where it really shines. I'm a bit of a BBQ aficionado, so I'll be a little nitpicky, but none of this takes away from how great it was overall. The brisket was phenomenal. We tried both lean and fatty--both were excellent. If I had to critique anything, it leaned slightly salty, but the bark, smoke, and overall flavor were outstanding. The pulled pork was just as impressive. Tener, moist, and packed with flavor, with no wasted bits. The Texas sausage was incredibly flavorful, though slightly on the mealy side texturally. That said, the green chile cheddar sausage was an absolute standout. Loaded with flavor, chiles, and cheese. A must-order. The sides were the only area that didn't quite keep pace with the meats. The beans were a bit undercooked and lacking depth of flavor. The slaw was fresh and well-balanced, but not particularly memorable. The corn pudding was solid, but again, nothing that stood out. The sauces also deserve some recognition. All four were fantastic, each with its own unique profile. Honestly, I could've just sat there sampling them on their own. They paired perfectly with different meats and added another layer to the experience. Overall, this is an incredible BBQ spot. While it may not quite reach the level of some top tier Texas joints, it absolutely rivals them and stands out as one of the best you'll find outside of Texas.

When I came in, there was no line which was amazing! They let you sample the meats before you get it. You gotta get the brisket! Literally the best brisket I've ever had. I sampled a burnt end piece and fell in love lol The brisket was so juicy, tender and well seasoned. It had a nice crispy crust and just melts in your mouth. The pork ribs were also very good! The crust was so good. The meat didn't quite fall off the bone but was still delicious! The fries were also perfectly crispy, hot, and balanced out the bbq well. They have plenty of seating bunch of picnic tables outside and quite a few tables inside. They also have a bar inside. I wish I lived closer so I could come back more lol I'll definitely have to shop by again next time I'm in the area.

I even ordered a small thing of macaroni and cheese just to see what that was like. The fries were ok. They are your standard chicken-place fries with some seasoning on it, arguably the best part of the meal. The Mac n Cheese was the worst mac n cheese I had ever tasted. I don't know how you could botch something like that, but it just tasted bland. No flavor whatsoever. The pickles on the side are...pickles. Neat addition, I guess. And now the sliders. The bun, sauce, and kale slaw were good additions to what I can only describe as: "a cayenne pepper-battered slab of dry meat." It was all spice, with little flavor or substance. The only flavor present was in the lightly drizzled sauce on it that got easily overshadowed by the pungent capsaicin that does nothing but settle into your mouth for the next 10 minutes and override any sense of taste and smell And the worst part of all of this? This review would at least be a 2-3 star if it weren't for the price tag on it. It's just not worth it. I'm not even gonna bother to try anything else from here
