She had to refund it, told me it had to go back on my card even though I paid with a debit card and it will take several days to return to my account. Then she stated they would start right away to fix it for me and it would be only a few minutes. I waited a half hour before going back up to check, only to find out they hadn't even started it nor did the other staff know what was going on with it. It was humiliating, judgmental, and completely uncalled for. What they didn't know was that my original prescription for 1 mg doses was written by my nurse practitioner, and after my condition worsened, my doctor approved an increased dosage. I followed medical advice, nothing more. But instead of treating me with dignity, the pharmacist made assumptions without context and acted like I was doing something shady. Then, when a new prescription was sent in for a lower dose, they only allowed me to pick that up and didn't bother to explain anything. I wasn't even told there was a 1 mg version available. There was zero communication, zero compassion, and a complete lack of professionalism. People's prescriptions often change--doses go up or down depending on medical need--and pharmacists should know better. But the way I was treated made me feel like I was being profiled or criminalized just for following doctor's orders. Honestly, no wonder Rite Aid went bankrupt. This kind of disrespectful and incompetent treatment is exactly why people are taking their business elsewhere.

So I decided to look for an old time pharmacy. To my surprise, none really exist anymore. But I did find one, Vitality Pharmacy in Folsom. I decided to give it a shot, and Im so glad I did. The service here is fantastic. The staff take care and interest in my wellbeing. They fill my prescriptions quickly and send me a text when its ready. I couldn't be happier with my experience here. I drive all the way from Fair Oaks to get my prescriptions filled here, and its well worth it. And, if you dont feel like driving they also offer delivery for a small fee. Highly recommended!

However, this "Walmart Neighborhood Market" located in the heart of the Sunrise Marketplace in Citrus Heights is fairly decent as I've actually been able to pick up my standard foods while making my shopping experience a positive one. I don't come to this location often since I live closer to the bigger one on Auburn Blvd. but if I am doing shopping in this area, I will come by to pick up a few things. To those that don't know this, their Neighborhood Market locations are trimmed-down versions of their Supercenters and are dedicated supermarkets that don't offer apparel, electronics, home decor, toys, office supplies, and a pharmacy. They do offer much of what you'd find in a typical grocery store including medicine, cosmetics, pet food, greeting cards, toiletries, and household products. The parking lot is quite spacious as the store itself is close to a "Noodles & Company" as well as a "Cost Plus". Additionally, this location offers a very convenient grocery pickup area (at the rear of the building). Finally, the offer generous hours of operation being opened 7 days a week from 6am-10:30pm and even open on major holidays. As convenient as this location might be, I will say that there are several food items I don't usually purchase here. Most notably the produce can truly be hit or miss as you can find much fresher fruits and veggies at nearby "Sprouts" (at Sunrise/Greenback) and "Trader Joes" (at Sunrise/Madison). I also wanted to point out that the meat/seafood is not of the highest quality. For many people, the food choices here are just fine so it really depends on personal preference. Finally, the overall temperature of this store is downright cold. I think they keep the internal setting at 64°F and when you get to the refrigerated section, it feels like 55°F. The cold doesn't bother me much but to some, it may not be a pleasant shopping experience. All in all, the Citrus Heights "Walmart Neighborhood Market" is average at-best. I've always found the checkout lanes to be fairly quick with a generous amount of self checkout lanes. Their public restroom is located at the rear of the store while the customer service area moves fairly quickly. With that said and done, I am giving this a 3-star rating.

The doctor prescribed my first try at a drug that's prescribed to half of all school kids these days AND its a controlled substance. I asked the doc to send the Rx to Raleys on Madison. When I got back home that afternoon, I went to Raleys to pick up my Rx. On duty at that time were 2 young men ( mid 20's ) dressed in blue scrubs and the pharmacist - an older man wearing a lab coat. One of the minions confirmed my identity and then informed me that because this is a controlled substance and my doctor was "not in the area" that they would not be able to fill my Rx. I asked them to define what "the area" means and they said that Walnut Creek is not in the area and the area means the "general Sacramento area". Well, that makes perfect sense now....NOT. After the pharmacist joined into the conversation that was growing more ridiculous by the second, he suggested I move from Walnut Creek to this area. English was obviously a second language for this trusted and highly qualified health care professional. I explained to him that I live two blocks from here and it is my doctor who is in Walnut Creek....I live here. Vlad didn't seem to understand or care and told me there is nothing he could do. I left the store. I went home and called my doctor. The doc said he'd contact the pharmacy and ask them to cooperate. He also added that these stupid "policies" by some businesses "makes my blood boil".... You and me both, brother! He phoned me back a few minutes later and said that he spoke to Vlad and that I could pick up my Rx but that it's likely I won't be able to use Raley's for subsequent Rx's of this type, again, because of their stupid policy. I rode my bike back over to the pharmacy....did I mention I live 2 blocks away...and Vlad filled my Rx. Never again, Raleys. You've failed me too many times.

First she said the transfer had not been received, when I told her I had been on the phone with the Walgreens when they faxed over the request she changed her story and said she had just received it 15-20 mins prior to me calling and that it takes 2-3 hours to process the transfer. I waited 2 hours to call them to follow up on the transfer from my initial conversation with Walgreens. I have been a longtime CVS customer and had only requested the transfer because the did not have the medication in stock however my two most recent contacts with them have made me rethink that relationship.
