It seems like allergy season is when we visit this location. We were running errands and the allergies were getting out of control, so we stopped by for Zyrtec D. My husband went to the pharmacy to grab allergy medicine and I got sidetracked by the candy aisle. I ended up getting a variety of different gummy candies including skittles gummies and sweet tart gummies. We also picked up a couple drinks. The staff was friendly and we were able to go through the pharmacy area and the front check out in a quick amount of time. We also found everything we were looking for, plus some. read more

I just went to this branch because riteaid doesnt carry the GLP-1 medications so I had no choice but to transfer to a different pharmacy. The indian lady in the pharmacy WAS VERY RUDE , it wasnt my fault if they dont have my phone number correctly and so when she asked me twice to enter the last 4 of my phone number she then asked me if I am (my name) with the accusatory tone that as if I am pretending to be someone else only because the phone number they have was incorrect. She could've asked me in a better way without "the look" of accusing me of stealing someone else's identity. Girl, if you dont like your job for which apparently you dont, then look for another one. Pharmacist and Tech Linda Nguyen rude and laughed and mocked me as I questioned the price for medication. Over counter price $45 and text Walgreens said $8.64 but Linda Nguyen said $12. I told her that Walgreens text is $8.64 showing and displayed. She told me it's wrong. Then she's staring at me DO YOU WANT YOUR PRESCRIPTION Filled. I said Yes I would. And she asked me three times. Very pleasant employees and their pharmacy has been excellent. We are new to the area and so far happy with Walgreens service.

There pharmacy service is absolutely hot garbage. The employees are rude, tired and over worked. Some of the worse service I have ever encountered. If you have a question you can only leave a message and wait for your call to be returned. I showed up at 11:50 to the pharmacy drive through and was told I could not wait for it to open at 12. They kicked me out of line only for the cars to pile up and me loose my spot in line. I was in a hurry and forced to wait because of there b.S. Policy. The pharmacy staff is friendly, but half the time when I go to the drive thru to pick up medications, they tell me it's not ready and to come back later, even if my Walgreens app tells me that it's ready for pick up. I will never step foot in that location ever again!! I was in an aisle deciding on a product and a heavy set female employee came up to me and rudely told me she needs to get behind me. She didn't say excuse me and when she was done she didn't say thank you. She literally interrupted what I was doing and forced me to move away. I needed something in that same aisle and rather than putting up with her rudeness again I walked to the front register and asked for something from a locked cabinet. Yes, I saw the help button, but I felt if I pushed it to make her come back it would set her off so I just walked up front and asked nicely for help. The male employee said ok and I looked right and she gave me a bad look. After she got out the product she pointed to the help button and very rudely told me, "Next time push the button" and that's when I told her she was very rude. And she actually told me I yelled at her! Our conversation degraded and I then became really upset about her horrible attitude! If I could give zero stars, I would. Never, ever will I set foot in this location again. Racist, classist. My daughter and granddaughter are visiting from out of state, and my granddaughter comes down with strep. 8 am Sunday, she's there to fill the antibiotics prescription. Completely empty store. She is on Medicaid, and tries to use it, not knowing it doesn't work out of state. But instead of politely and compassionately telling her that, she gets "This is California, not Colorado." And they continued to treat her super rudely, leaving her in tears. She called me and I said I'd pay cash for it, so she went up to the counter to ask how much (remember-no other customers in the store), and I hear over the phone "What do you want? You need to sit down... I have other orders in front of yours." I threw on clothes, and went down to find her sobbing in her car. I was shower bummed with my regular Walgreens closed for business some time ago. I moved my shopping to another Walgreen's, but the Dewey and Greenback location is the only 24 hour one in the region, and is located in an area where I do business fairly often. I needed a few toiletry items and visited the store. While the location did not have everything I was looking for (available online however), the staff was very nice and accommodating, pointing in the direction of my items and answering questions. The bathrooms are locked and the staff does not share the code but they will promptly let you in if you need to use the restroom. I also love the pharmacy services. Note: this location can get super busy at the pharmacy so you can call to check availability of your meds before traveling to the store. read more

This place is absolutely terrible. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt so many times. It's obvious why this pharmacy continues to receive the reviews that they do. Extremely poor customer service. It seems as though every time you have your medications sent here, they come up with some reason to find an issue and make you the bad guy when their systems are flawed and their Pharmacists get off on being a problem. At times, I've literally overheard their pharmacists bad mouth customers and laugh about it. After that experience, I question why I continued to come back here but I've been coming to this neighborhood Walgreens my whole life. Today, after my doctor sent over prescriptions for my chronic TMJD, I called to check on the status of my prescription. After verifying my information and pulling up my file, the pharmacist asked what insurance I had. I told her that I had anthem Blue Cross, and she confirmed by asking if I used them through Medi-Cal. I said, yes. She then proceeds to inform me that medical is claiming that I have another insurance and they are not clearing my prescriptions. I informed her that that that wouldn't have made sense considering, I have been coming to this Walgreens every couple weeks to refill prescriptions that have been sent by the same exact doctor and I've been under this insurance for over a year. Not to mention that I came earlier in August, aug 9th exactly, and had just picked up a prescription. Not to mention that I had been to Sutter Roseville emergency room, on August 19 and there were no issues with my insurance there either. She told me that there was nothing that she could do for me and I would have to get on the phone with Medi-Cal and clarify what was going on with my insurance. It is now 7 o'clock at night, their office was closed and that was really the case. I would not have been able to get my prescriptions until the following morning. I'm having a flare up and my pain is debilitating at the moment, I need these medications as they are effecting my heart rate, blood pressure and my mental health. She told me there was nothing she could do and we ended the call. After thinking about it for a few minutes, I made another attempt to contact the Walgreens and see if I could still have those prescriptions filled. After going back-and-forth with another gentleman on the phone and explaining to him that there wouldn't have made any sense to the reason why my insurance would have changed in the middle of the month. He responded by saying, " we can argue on the phone about it or you can just come in and take a look for yourself. AI had to practically force him to take a deeper look at my file, asking questions about who the doctor was that prescribed them and what insurance carrier was being billed. He informed me, that my insurance was "CareMark". I responded by asking if every other prescription that I have picked up in the entirety of the year was billed under Caremark, would they not consider the option of trying to bill the insurance that I had been billing every other time I've been here! He made the attempt and it was processed immediately, he informed me that my prescriptions would be ready within the hour. This makes absolutely no sense for a customer to have to practically beg a pharmacist to do their job properly. Especially considering that this has been an issue for me at this location several other times. And every time I have to ask them to look into my file and figure it out. Why is that so complicated? Why do they insist on making a patients, already trivializing experience more troublesome? It's just completely unnecessary, humiliating and wrong. When I arrived to pick up my prescription, as soon as I told her my name and birthday, she must have recognized me because she immediately became silent. She brought my prescription. I thanked her and told her to enjoy the rest of her night, she didn't even respond to me at all, simply put thesignature through the box and gave me medication without saying a word! I will never come back to this location and every pharmacist at this location should seriously reconsider their choice of occupation if that is how they intend to treat patients and customers. From now on, I will be having my doctor send my prescriptions elsewhere. Part of me, feels as though that is their intent. Which is honestly quite sad. I'm not sure If im able to file a grievance against Walgreens, but I certainly will be making an attempt. read more

Just go to the Walgreens pharmacy on Antelope!!! The pharmacist/ tech who "helped" me today was extremely rude and made no effort to try and help. My prescription was accidentally sent to a Walgreens out of state so I needed it pulled, which I have had done before. The guy working the counter told me he couldn't help me and recommend just going 30 days without my medication. When I said that wasn't an option he told me to figure it out myself and call my insurance, which I am not even sure who to contact for that kind of thing. He also was very condescending telling me that my prescription probably wasn't even at Walgreens and that I was probably wrong even though I could show him on my Walgreens account that I had medication at a different Walgreens. I called the Walgreens that the medication had been sent to and they told me that he should have been able to pull it over and that it should have been no issue since the medication was never picked up. Additionally they said if my insurance needed to be contacted that it was his job to contact them to tell them that my medication had never been picked up, not have me do it. I went to the Walgreens on Antelope and they had it pulled over no problem first try. I have been going to Walgreens for my "not local" and I needed to change to a new doctor nearer to this Walgreens. I asked when this "policy" went into affect; also I had received no notice; my doctor is about 45 miles away; this has never been a problem before. The pharmacist (name Ngan) who was very difficult to understand), could not give me a solid answer or where this "new policy" came from". She said it "just is their policy" and that I could call the Walgreens corporate office. So I called the Walgreens Corporate office. I was told by the corporate office that there was no such policy but occasionally it happens that a particular pharmacist could not dispense a medication if they chose not to. It was purely at their discretion. The person at the corporate office apologized for the Inconvenience. I called this Walgreens on a weekend as I've done a few times, and this same pharmacist has been uncooperative and hard to understand; once I had to ask for the store manager to get assistance about a medication or an issue with this pharmacist. Clearly she picked me out as a person she was not going to fill my medication. I am writing a letter to the Walgreens corporate office to report this person and their behavior. If I cannot get my medication, because one pharmacist simply chooses not to fill it it for me because they don't feel like it, or for some reason they don't like me, it could cause serious physical problems, if not death. Not safe to shop there if you do not want to catch the virus. I wear an oxygen concentrator in a backpack. A guy behind me was one of the "under the nose" crowd that does not think that the nose is part of the respiratory system. His respiratory system was going straight into my concentrator, which delivers my oxygen. I told him that the nose is indeed part of the respiratory system. He threw a fit, said he has asthma. I said "I have 18% lung function. If I can do it, you can do it." The manager on the floor was firmly on his side. She said that masks are not required by the CDC, (they are required by the store), and said "This is a conversation that we are not having." He told me if I didn't want to die to go home. I called the store on Sunrise and Greenback. They said they cannot force people to wear them correctly, but they do tell people that yes, the nose is part of the respiratory system, and suggest that they wear them correctly. I have been a loyal customer at the store on Dewey and Greenback for over 20 years. I am not going back. I will have my medications transferred to the Sunrise store. It would have been nice if I had some kind of back-up. They make a big show of "being careful", but it is only a show. read more

This situation started when i first moved here. I'm an avid bicyclist. I originally had attempted over a year ago to use the drive-thru to pick up me medication at this location. they turned me down at the drive thru, but I understood. they were perfectly fine with me coming in with my bike, and walking up to the pharmacy to get my medication. this was over a year ago, and I've never had a problem until today. Like usual, i get off my bike, turn off the flashing lights, and make my way in. Three employees greeted me at the door, but as i made my way further into the store, a voice says "you can't bring your bike in the store". I told the young lady No one has every mentioned anything to me before, but then AMBER became a little confrontational. she offered for me to leave my bike in front of the store inside, but I didn't feel comfortable with that either. I told her that if she can show me in writing their store policy says no bicycles, but she held firm to the policy. Instead of arguing, I proceeded, to leave, but asked AMBER for the Store manager's information, and her response was the Walgreens Cooperate phone number. I called Walgreens cooperate Immediately after arriving home. I started a concern file, and gave them the details of my experience there today. They were the first to admit that the no bicycles in Walgreens is a store policy enforced on a store by store basis. If this store does practice this policy, then hang signs, not have an employee enforce the rule with an attitude. Fast forward a few hour, and the Pharmacy Manager called me, because she saw my complaint in the system. she remembers me from previous visits inside the store with my bicycle, and wondered why they didn't let me in. I was also able to share my information with her as well. I just hope this gets resolved, and AMBER gets some customer service training. I picked up a prescription syrup and even though it had already been filled, the pharmacists took time out of their ridiculously busy night to put apple flavored syrup in it for me! Christopher and the other male pharmacist whose name starts with an A (Alistair maybe?) were very cool and I really appreciate their customer service! Both of them are always very professional and friendly! As I left, Liss was opening boxes in the front cashier area and I just had to compliment her hair - which turned into a fun conversation and I just had to give her credit too for her outstanding customer service! In all my years of pharmacies this is by far the worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with was having a cosmetic surgery done and had prescriptions sent there and they would not fill them without having triple checks with the doctors couldn't seem to get through their heads that I was paying cash for these because it was a cosmetic procedure which I did not want going through my insurance they continued to be out of things constantly then when I did try to get any refills filled they would not fill them without another full report from the same doctor two weeks later just absolute garbage I would never deal with this place not even for a free prescription go anywhere else you possibly can read more

Took my son on 9/20/2024 to pick up a prescription. Pharmacist told my son it would be a 30 minute wait. So while we were waiting I thought I would pick up a few things while we were there. While at the end of the of the isle. As I was checking out the gift cards, not touching them. Guy at the checkout stand started yelling at me over another customer. DO YOU NEED ANYTHING!?! Told him I just needed to speak to supervisor. Explained situation to supervisor. Supervisor responded with.. do you need bonus points or free perks. Told him , no, your checker can't be treating customers like this. Supervisor responded; so if you don't need anything than you can leave, I am just the fill in weekend supervisor. The guy Ryan in the pharmacy is an absolute nightmare. I was asking questions about getting my prescription refilled and he yelled at me then hung up on me. I just wanted my meds and he literally has one job- provide good customer service while giving people their medications. He should NOT be working with people since he is so miserable. read more
