I went there to get a new foundation that was light to medium coverage tonight and I was paired with Kylie (I hope that is her name) and she was freaking awesome. Extremely easy to talk too and we ended up talking about skin care and our struggles (I think for her it was her previous struggles with acne) and she was just so helpful. We ended up trying out 3 shades from Estée Lauder and then also trying NARS, ended up going with a shade from Estée Lauder. But anyways, she was so amazing. And I also always have a great experience with (I'm sorry I don't know her name so I'm going to describe her) she has long blonde hair and front bangs? As far as Ulta locations go this one is consistently underwhelming. The staff are pushy and yet also aloof. It's strange being hounded by a salesperson who then cannot answer basic questions that would actually prompt a purchase on my part. I really don't care if you "love this brand" if you can't tell me why. The store itself is not well stocked. It is often dirty with makeup smeared all over the advertisements and the bathrooms are never clean or well stocked. They usually smell putrid and that is after visiting this location maybe six times in the past five months. I will drive farther east to nicer locations from now on. (Also please do not even bother with the location on Fulton ave. It is all of the above all over but with a worse shopping center.) read more

Such a disappointing experience. The store was not busy, and there were plenty of employees on the floor, most of them gathered together chatting. Despite the staffing, I was not greeted upon entering and went about 25 minutes without anyone offering assistance. I eventually had to track someone down to ask for a tester, which was already frustrating since many makeup products don't have testers available. The associate I spoke with appeared inconvenienced, did not ask if I needed anything else, and walked away immediately after opening a tester. It's hard to understand why brick-and-mortar retailers are surprised when customers choose to shop online instead. When there are enough employees present but customer service is completely lacking, the in-store experience offers no added value. read more

She was super helpful and friendly and found me a foundation that matched perfectly, i'm extremely pale so it's always hard to find one with the right undertone so I was really happy to find one. This place used to be so dark and dreary for a cosmetics store. Much different then my experience in Fremont, CA. With the updating of the store and the new lighting, it is so much better! Shopping there is easier now. Although, it still needs better signage for us older folks! I'm impressed w/their Clinique line, as that is my favorite skincare line. I've been using their products since I was a teenager and they never disappoint! The only down side is they have no ADA parking out front. It is all the way down a side street-which is far from the entrance. This can be a hindrance to those of us w/walking issues or a hitch in our giddy-up (bad hips)! An employee helped me find slightly scented or unscented hair products because I have allergies. The inside of the store was neatly organized. I wanted to reach out and share my experience yesterday at the salon with my hairstylist, Tori. During our appointment, Kasondra interrupted to confront Tori about her clocking-in time. Kasondra approached Tori in front of me and asked, "What time did you come in today?" Tori responded that she arrived at 11. Kasondra then questioned if Tori had asked a manager, noting that her time showed as tardy. Tori explained she had received permission the night before to come in at 11, but Kasondra insisted she should text her directly next time. Then, she walked away. I want to emphasize that Tori is an exceptional professional, always punctual and dedicated to her job and my appointments. For her boss to confront her during an appointment felt disrespectful and unprofessional. Kasondra should understand that there's a time and place for such discussions, and it shouldn't happen in front of clients. I hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed accordingly. read more

I got my hair done by Melisa. She saved my hair! It was so dark and I was looking for a curly hair cut with curly bangs and the person I went with originally (not from Ulta) did a very bad job. Thank God Melisa helped me and gave me the cut and color I wanted! Also the Olaplex treatment helped nourish my hair. Melisa reminded how it's important to invest in your hair. read more

Appt. rescheduled by salon due to a scheduling issue on their end. I have a 60 hour work week but I rearranged my schedule to accommodate. I showed up at the scheduled time, the salon told me they got busy & forgot to call me & need to reschedule. Unacceptable and unprofessional. She just kept saying she got backed up, as if it's a valid excuse. I don't get it. So you wasted my time because you couldn't communicate to someone to call me on your behalf to properly cancel? Sorry, I don't see this as a mistake. Scheduling and booking is a large part of the job for a salon, so how do you forget to do that?! read more

I like this store and I'd say I usually have a great shopping experience here. The low rating is for the salon. If I could, I'd give zero stars for them. The first time I went to the salon, I had Rachel dye my hair in the wrong sections, and she paid no attention to the ends of the hair, which is where I specifically asked for her to dye it. Honestly, I could've done better with a boxed dye by myself. This was a complete waste of $200. I returned for a color correction, with a picture as a point of reference. Not only did I pay $70 more for 10 more foils, it's nowhere near where she said she'd get it. Improved a tiny bit, but still not worth over $300 (with tip) for all of the time wasted and effort on my part to get it fixed. Do NOT waste your time or money in their salon. Horrible attempt at fixing what she messed up the first time. Don't even bother! read more

Absolutely AWFUL management!!! I mean I was treated awfully in this store, first I kept getting followed like I was going to steal, even though I'm a younger woman it's quite ridiculous. The workers are also awful, particularly Cynthia, she's rude to coworkers and has a snobby tone that reflects in her actions. Last time I shop from this wanna be Sephora. I went in today to pick up an online order. Every time I go in with my ID no one asks for it. The last few times I have went in there I have voluntarily showed it and was told "we just need to see the email." I did not have my ID today because my wallet got stolen and based on my last few times, I didn't need it anyway. The manager, Cassandra, was rude and kept telling me she needed to my ID even after making her aware that it was stolen. How the fuck am I supposed to show you an ID that was stolen?! The most horrible customer service by Renee the Manager here and also by the district educator Scott. Called me back 16 days after i filed the complaint and was told i would be getting a call back the next day. I did exactly what Renee wanted which was to come in for a face to face consult and she said with all confidence she can do a blond color on my hair and i told her i will only book if she is 100% she can do it and she said she can so i kept my appointment. mind you i was physically there. 2 days before my appointment she calls to tell me i need to do a stand test becasue she started thinking about it and wasnt sure if my hair would be able to be bleached and yet my hair is already blond but just grown out. when i stated facts she got angry and said your hair isnt even blond and that its damaged. how disgusting can a person be to say that hang up and cancel your appointment when you did what they requested and all of a sudden they realize they cant do nothing and its your fault. I have to leave a review. First off let me say that my hair was a hot mess. I needed a cut and a hair treatment. So I make an appointment with Christopher and OMG he was amazing. He cut my hair and I loved it. You can always tell when they cut it right. It flows and I can curl it. He helped me with all the products I needed. I made an appointment in the salon for a hair treatment and the manager called me shortly after leaving a voicemail saying the I would need to come in 30 minutes earlier and the system shouldn't have let me pick the time slot I did. When I called to confirm the new timeframe she told me she didn't have any stylists available at all because the one I booked was running late. Well I came back bc this store is more convenient for me and despite their promising response to my recent review the brunette manager with brown eyes was SO RUDE TO ME. I think she even lied to me. I was asking about a return and she basically told me they had no access to my old receipt and couldn't do anything. Today I called the Roseville location and they went above and beyond to locate my receipt and even offered me store credit without a recipe. Even if they had not been able to do so at least they tried and were nice about it! Get it together Citrus Heights! TIP: if you need help with anything avoid the Ulta location. If you know what you need, the location is great if you can help yourself. There's always parking and lots of convenient other stores around which is why I go there so often. read more

Pushy sales people as well as had an associate following me and my husband in the drug store make up section. I understand that theft in retail can be an issue now a days, but it's not great to treat every customer like a thief. Sheesh. I used to work at this store over 16 years ago and it's weird that they still have sales associates doing loss prevention duties. Which isn't legal. That is suppose to either be hired out specifically as a Loss Prevention Specialist. At the very least, the head management. I saw some earlier complaints of staff asking to look into someone's purse in the store. That's also not legal. They have to leave the store before you can inquire and prove intent to steal. I would love to have them ask to look in my purse like some of the comments below. That sounds like an easy lawsuit. Also ~ the lady at the counter is awkwardly pushy about a rewards card. If I knew someone else who has a card. I don't shop here enough to even sign up for one in which she said I couldn't return the makeup without it. Rolling her eyes and smiling at her coworker. Ok I don't plan to return make-up. Get a clue. I understand it's your job to ask which isn't an issue, but after the 3-4 no's. It's a bit much. I will probably go to the Arden store or just shop online.. They don't seem as pushy,obnoxious and rude. ULTA CORPORATE: if you're forcing your workers to sign people up or push people into giving numbers. Making it reflect bad on them if they don't do it. That should be stopped because some of us just want to shop in peace without all the extra bells and whistles. I would spend more money if people just let me be.
