Disappointed by my experience at the salon yesterday. My mom and I went into ulta to get hair dye, a woman from the salon comes over to help and says she can help me dye my hair from dark dirty blonde with highlights to brunette. Makes it seem like it is going to be super simple. It's hard to tell in the brightness of the salon but my hair is now reallly dark and has a greenish tint at the end because my blonde was not filled before dying. So I went to Ulta to purchase the Pattern Flat Iron, but they were out of stock so the nice cashier ordered it and had it shipped to my house. I've just checked the delivery status and it was says it was delivered to a previous address where I lived over a decade ago. Then I noticed looking at the delivery drivers picture it was not even delivered to that address. It was delivered to another address where I lived about 4 years ago. So I called Ulta and explained what happened and the initial customer service guy said he can not help me with this because they should have had the right address. So not only did they not send to me, but they also didn't send it to the correct old address as well. I spend way too much money there for this type of treatment. This level of customer service is appalling. Im really hoping that this is not because im black this makes me sad. read more

Such a disappointing experience. The store was not busy, and there were plenty of employees on the floor, most of them gathered together chatting. Despite the staffing, I was not greeted upon entering and went about 25 minutes without anyone offering assistance. I eventually had to track someone down to ask for a tester, which was already frustrating since many makeup products don't have testers available. The associate I spoke with appeared inconvenienced, did not ask if I needed anything else, and walked away immediately after opening a tester. It's hard to understand why brick-and-mortar retailers are surprised when customers choose to shop online instead. When there are enough employees present but customer service is completely lacking, the in-store experience offers no added value. read more

As far as Ulta locations go this one is consistently underwhelming. The staff are pushy and yet also aloof. It's strange being hounded by a salesperson who then cannot answer basic questions that would actually prompt a purchase on my part. I really don't care if you "love this brand" if you can't tell me why. The store itself is not well stocked. It is often dirty with makeup smeared all over the advertisements and the bathrooms are never clean or well stocked. They usually smell putrid and that is after visiting this location maybe six times in the past five months. I will drive farther east to nicer locations from now on. (Also please do not even bother with the location on Fulton ave. It is all of the above all over but with a worse shopping center.) read more

I went there to get a new foundation that was light to medium coverage tonight and I was paired with Kylie (I hope that is her name) and she was freaking awesome. Extremely easy to talk too and we ended up talking about skin care and our struggles (I think for her it was her previous struggles with acne) and she was just so helpful. We ended up trying out 3 shades from Estée Lauder and then also trying NARS, ended up going with a shade from Estée Lauder. But anyways, she was so amazing. And I also always have a great experience with (I'm sorry I don't know her name so I'm going to describe her) she has long blonde hair and front bangs? I asked for a light brown hair dye with some light brownish Carmel highlights but only a few... i had two interns learning how to do hair and one had to go so she rushed through and died half of my head orange and the other one who stayed died a completely different pattern and orange as well. If I can choose negative stars , I would but I'll just describe below what happened to me during a recent visit to an Ulta Beauty store that left me feeling profiled, discriminated against, and treated unfairly as a customer. I visited the store with my 18-month-old son to purchase a gift card. Upon entering, an associate approached me and offered a shopping bag. I politely declined. The associate then commented, "It seems like your hands are full," and continued to offer the bag despite my initial refusal. While I found the interaction unusual, I remained respectful and proceeded with my shopping. After this interaction, I noticed that the cashier appeared to be closely watching me throughout my time in the store, which made me uncomfortable. When I approached the checkout area, the cashier informed me that there were customers ahead of me, even though no line was present when I initially walked toward the register. I understood the clarification and did not make an issue of it. However, I continued to feel that I was being watched and treated differently. When it became my turn, I asked the cashier if there was a problem because of the way I felt I had been monitored throughout my visit. Rather than attempting to address my concerns or de-escalate the situation, Amber, who identified herself as the General Manager, refused to assist me and stated that I could take my business elsewhere. I was surprised by this response, especially since my purchase had not even been processed. During the interaction, I was asked for identification before my transaction had been completed. In my experience shopping at other Ulta locations, I have never been asked for identification under similar circumstances. This further contributed to my belief that I was being profiled. What was most concerning was when I explained that I was not from the area, and the General Manager responded, "I can tell you're not from this area." This comment left me feeling judged and singled out based on assumptions about who I was and where I came from. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and professionalism. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed, humiliated, and discriminated against. Amber , you should be careful how you approach customers especially being a GM . I haven't worn foundation in years and today I went in with the intention of getting one I used to love back in 2017/2018 but it was a completely different color than it used to be so Diana helped me find a new one! She was super helpful and friendly and found me a foundation that matched perfectly, i'm extremely pale so it's always hard to find one with the right undertone so I was really happy to find one. This place used to be so dark and dreary for a cosmetics store. Much different then my experience in Fremont, CA. With the updating of the store and the new lighting, it is so much better! Shopping there is easier now. Although, it still needs better signage for us older folks! I'm impressed w/their Clinique line, as that is my favorite skincare line. I've been using their products since I was a teenager and they never disappoint! The only down side is they have no ADA parking out front. It is all the way down a side street-which is far from the entrance. This can be a hindrance to those of us w/walking issues or a hitch in our giddy-up (bad hips)! I was graduating nursing school the same day so i wanted to try the hair services here for a quick and cheap blow out and i swear the hairstylist didn't even try to make it nice. The blonde she gave me is beautiful and she shaped my short hair and gave it a whole new vibrancy and style! I like this store and I'd say I usually have a great shopping experience here. The low rating is for the salon. If I could, I'd give zero stars for them. The first time I went to the salon, I had Rachel dye my hair in the wrong sections, and she paid no attention to the ends of the hair, which is where I specifically asked for her to dye it. Honestly, I could've done better with a boxed dye by myself. This was a complete waste of $200. I returned for a color correction, with a picture as a point of reference. Not only did I pay $70 more for 10 more foils, it's nowhere near where she said she'd get it. Improved a tiny bit, but still not worth over $300 (with tip) for all of the time wasted and effort on my part to get it fixed. Do NOT waste your time or money in their salon. I wanted to reach out and share my experience yesterday at the salon with my hairstylist, Tori. During our appointment, Kasondra interrupted to confront Tori about her clocking-in time. Kasondra approached Tori in front of me and asked, "What time did you come in today?" Tori responded that she arrived at 11. Kasondra then questioned if Tori had asked a manager, noting that her time showed as tardy. Tori explained she had received permission the night before to come in at 11, but Kasondra insisted she should text her directly next time. Then, she walked away. I want to emphasize that Tori is an exceptional professional, always punctual and dedicated to her job and my appointments. For her boss to confront her during an appointment felt disrespectful and unprofessional. Kasondra should understand that there's a time and place for such discussions, and it shouldn't happen in front of clients. I hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed accordingly. read more

I showed up at the scheduled time, the salon told me they got busy & forgot to call me & need to reschedule. Unacceptable and unprofessional. She just kept saying she got backed up, as if it's a valid excuse. I don't get it. So you wasted my time because you couldn't communicate to someone to call me on your behalf to properly cancel?
