They've made improvements to parking and the rooms, but the café and food options still need some work. The check-in process for day procedures could also use improvement. It seems they are updating the lobby area as well. The staff is attentive and does their best, and I had a great experience with the ER staff during my last visit. However, the follow-up care after the ER visit could be better. Overall, this hospital is one of the better options in the Austin area. After reading others' reviews and their experiences, I've realized that many of the issues are common across hospitals in the US medical system, not just this one. I am glad we have the doctors of St David's South on my father's medical team. They have given us 16 and counting bonus years.

Despite her visible dehydration and the difficulty staff had establishing an IV, she remained in the ER for approximately four hours without receiving any IV fluids. Before being discharged, she suffered a physical setback, yet she was still sent home. The following day, we were notified that she tested positive for C. diff. It is deeply concerning that a patient in her condition, with what turned out to be a serious infection, was brushed off and discharged while still thirsty and weak. We now have to wait several days to see her primary care physician for follow-up care that should have been initiated or supported by the emergency team. I am disappointed by the lack of effort and the dismissive attitude we encountered during this visit. I would appreciate a review of her case and an explanation as to why standard interventions, such as administering saline fluids, were not provided given her symptoms. We can do better for all patients.

I was a patient at the north location for over 18 months and the last 6 mont6hs I was never able to…read moreget my correct prescriptions filled EVEN AFTER I asked them to check doctors note for new dosage. Thats 6 months out of 7. When I checked their facebook page I saw that the staff posts often that they are being paid overtime to watch movies with the screenshot including popcorn and a soda can. NOT PROFESSIONAL and in my opinion someone in the back is practicing medicine without a license instead of giving me what the dr recently ordered, just refilling the old prescription. THAT SUCKS So even though the staff I saw was very nice, I don't need nice, I need competent. So I switched to the south location. I was promised a visit with the doctor for my first visit since I was having medication issues. Instead a very harried and hurried p.a. shows up obviously not willing to take the time to actually hear out my answer to her first question "what brings you here today?" Interrupted in every answer, I finally stopped talking, and once she was making eye contact with me, I told her to just ask yes or no questions since she obviously didn't have the time for anything longer than a one word answer. At that point she apologized and said she would listen. Even with her subsequent interruptions she began to listen and respond more professionally. She assured me I would see the doctor within two days and penciled me in for an appt two days later at 1. When I went out to the front desk and requested a card for the appt time, the receptionist Lisa mind you she is in her 50's gave me a SNORT and an EYEROLL and told me the dr was booked ahead for 6 weeks. After instruction by the p.a. she relented and I got the card with time at 1:00. That day I left my home just before 12, and sadly an accident on 35 had traffic stopped in place for more than a half hour. At 1:13 I called the office to let them know I was stuck in traffic, the receptionist Lisa me not to bother as the next patient was already there and would be given my time slot instead. I said please give me next appt available with the doctor and she then said you can come in at 3. That appointment was with another p.a. and not a doctor so I would still not be able to resolve medication issues UNTIL I SAW THE DOCTOR 6 weeks later. So would I recommend this comedy of errors to someone seeking competent medical practice, a Doctor to be seen by when warranted, and polite and helpful staff? NOT HARDLY. I brought receipts for my complaint, sadly I did not have my camera out to document Lisa's SNORT and EYEROLL. Steer clear, unless you like impediments to good health care placed in your path.

I really appreciated the extra effort & thought put into the decoration of the mammogram exam room. It was decked out in pink decor, including soft pink lighting that created a peaceful atmosphere & had a calming effect as you're getting your mammogram done. There was also pink decor displayed that reminded you of the importance of getting regular mammograms done for early detection of breast cancer. I didn't have to wait long in the patient waiting lobby before getting called back to get my mammogram done & the mammogram took about 30 mins or so. My results were sent to me afterwards through my ARC My Chart account after the doctor reviewed them. A few helpful tidbits about this ARC location: - - mammogram services located in the building closest to hwy 3828, 1st floor - - private parking lot for patients Till next time!

I was told my diabetes was caused by sleep apenea, and any other physical problems I have are caused by Sleep apnea. I have addressed my sleep apenea over the years, and can't use the machine and mask of any kind. The Dr was upset that I can't use mask, I was told I am unwilling to help myself, and there was nothing they could or would do for me if I didn't pay 1000 out of pocket for study and additional for the machine. The truth is, I only went because I am having a hard time getting to sleep. I stay asleep. I've done all the generic treatments Trazadone, hydroxidine in high doses, but it doesn't help. Again, I saw reg doc, and she reminded me they absolutely do not give prescriptions to help insomnia, so referred to specialist that gave me same message. Are there doctors the help out there with anything? This doctor was the worst I've ever seen, thank you for 3 month wait, 80.00 Co-pay, and offer no help or hope. Make sure I knew 30 mins are up, and tell me what I already know (except, I was surprised to learn diabetes is caused by sleep apnea.) What an incredible insult to patient rights, such a lack of intelligence and compassion are far beyond my understanding.

Update: lowering my score as I've seen three physicians here, felt rushed or lack of info on each visit, usually you're given up to 15 minutes with a doctor per most insurance plans but here you only get 5. It's been a consistent trend. I went hoping to get information but instead I was brushed off and given a prescription that I didn't even need. I've been coming here for over ten years on and off and it's just gotten so much worse. Dr Mobley heard my situation for less than five minutes and said "if it's not bothering you don't worry about it" and rushed off as I tried to say it was bothering me. Saw dr Jones and again less than five minutes, just wrote a prescription that I didn't even need and finally ordered some test. Then I see his nurse practitioner to go over the notes and she to time with me but she made a suggestion that previous doctors told me would be bad for me and kept going on about it even after I said it was a bad idea and I've already done it. We had to wait for more results. She was supposed to call me with the final results. Two weeks later and I got a call from someone else telling me to make a telehealth appointment. I've already seen three doctors there, paid all my bills, was told I'd receive a call with results. This place really doesn't have its ish together. I decided to look up the owners and it seems it's private equity. I really feel that the doctors are being forced to burn and churn.

I romped with my dogs in the snow, walked them and then went for an amazing run around my snowy peaceful neighborhood. Later, since all that activity made me hungry, I was cutting up a chicken to make fried chicken and I cut my finger quite badly. It bled and bled and I could not get it to stop. FInally, I used super glue, huge bandage, gloved the hand, finished dinner, which was delicious, btw. Then I stayed up late and my house almost burnt down. (Long story). Taking off the leather gloves I used to move the fireplace grate to pour water on the fire place fire, I tore the bandage off and more blood starting pouring everywhere. More super glue, which I also got on my lips and tongue when trying to open the tube one-handed because my dh was sound asleep. I was trying to hurry because my house breakers had blown and the burnt electrical smell was getting overwhelming and I still hadn't realized there was a fire in the wall. So, then, when the 25 or so firemen came in an hour later and tore out the bedroom wall and put out the fire, a nice paramedic wrapped my finger again. That night was cold. 23 degrees, huddled in the guest room with our dogs in stinky smoky house with no heat or electricity. Next day, with my nervous energy from almost being burnt up and stuff, I worked in the garden for a few hours digging my fishpond deeper while the electrician came to get our power back and rewire the wall. The surgical glove covering my bandage filled with blood and neighbors advised going to the doctor NOW. ARC couldn't take me until tomorrow so I called around and found Pro Med, right there next to People's RX on S. Lamar - next to the Red Lobster. I had to wait a bit, but the wait was about 3 hours shorter than urgent care on William Cannon who close at 4 which seemed stupid to me. I mean, how urgent can it be if they keep bankers hours? Pro Med was awesome. They were open until 9:00. Very nice nurses and assistants and very sweet doctor who gave me the appropriate disapproving look when I told him about the digging in the garden all morning. Did I mention that I was filthy? Oh, he also advised that I really should have gone to the emergency room when it happened. But if I had, then my house probably would have burnt down with my dogs and husband in the house because I was the only one who noticed the fire. But they cleaned and fixed up my finger and gave me instructions and were just very nice and took my insurance. Follow up visit to check the finger was FREE!! I saw another nice doctor and assistant/nurse who got me out of there in less then ten minutes. So, see, it all worked out.
