They've made improvements to parking and the rooms, but the café and food options still need some work. The check-in process for day procedures could also use improvement. It seems they are updating the lobby area as well. The staff is attentive and does their best, and I had a great experience with the ER staff during my last visit. However, the follow-up care after the ER visit could be better. Overall, this hospital is one of the better options in the Austin area. After reading others' reviews and their experiences, I've realized that many of the issues are common across hospitals in the US medical system, not just this one. I am glad we have the doctors of St David's South on my father's medical team. They have given us 16 and counting bonus years.

I told the paramedics that they wouldn't do as good as a job at a different hospital. I was right! after they told me what hospital he went to and it had a 2.8 rating!!!!!! He just text me and told me "I think you're right about the rating of this place so they don't seem to be getting amywhere and almost wanna send me home when they haven't done anything and I can't even get out of bed still"" He's just gonna have to go to Heart hospital I begged them to take him to earlier. Wasting precious time. They better transfer him to the other hospital because he can't even get out of bed or get in an Uber to go to the other hospital. I am livid. Read all the other one star reviews and go somewhere else please A day or two later he put him on more blood pressure medication that lowered his blood pressure to dangerously low at 60! They did a procedure on him to check for blockages in his heart and found nothing. He left the hospital and no better shape than he arrived. He's now transferred to a skilled nursing facility and I'm so less stressed now that he's out of Saint David's! I am an honest person so I do have to admit that the staff was very kind and professional.

I really appreciated the extra effort & thought put into the decoration of the mammogram exam room. It was decked out in pink decor, including soft pink lighting that created a peaceful atmosphere & had a calming effect as you're getting your mammogram done. There was also pink decor displayed that reminded you of the importance of getting regular mammograms done for early detection of breast cancer. I didn't have to wait long in the patient waiting lobby before getting called back to get my mammogram done & the mammogram took about 30 mins or so. My results were sent to me afterwards through my ARC My Chart account after the doctor reviewed them. A few helpful tidbits about this ARC location: - - mammogram services located in the building closest to hwy 3828, 1st floor - - private parking lot for patients Till next time!

Are they underpaid? Are they unskilled? Do they just not care? Time after time, I've had a problem getting my prescriptions refilled. They call it in to the wrong pharmacy. They call in the wrong vial size. ... Or they just don't respond at all. There's no way to contact anyone directly. Just the portal and the off-shore messaging service they use. They rarely check messages in the portal. And as far as I can tell, any messages left with their off-shore service go into a black hole. No messages get through to the office or the staff. I'm really close to filing a complaint with the Texas Medical Board over the shoddy service their staff gives. I hate to do that, because, as I said, my doctor is great. It's the "care" offered between my semi-annual appointments that's abysmal. I would be happy to adjust this review if I started seeing consistently better service from the staff. If I could give Dr. Hardee a separate review, I'd leave her five stars. If I was gauging the staff separately, this would be a 1-star review.

My experience with Urology Austin has been an absolute disaster, marked by weeks of delays, poor…read morecommunication, and basic administrative incompetence. I began trying to schedule treatment in late-October. Every time I called the office, I spoke with a front-desk staff member who told me that "a scheduler would call me back within 24-48 hours." That call never came. I repeatedly followed up--sometimes every 48ish hours--and made no progress for weeks. The only way I was able to get any response was by emailing the doctor directly at a personal email address, which felt highly inappropriate and was the only thing that finally prompted someone to call me back. At that point, on November 11th, I was told I needed to complete three forms for insurance pre-authorization. I completed all forms immediately. Despite this, the pre-authorization was not submitted to my insurance company until exactly one week before my scheduled treatment, on December 9th. Worse, the submission apparently included no supporting documentation showing that I was eligible for the treatment. As a result, Blue Cross Blue Shield requested a peer-to-peer review between the doctor and one of their clinicians. However, there is no direct phone number for Blue Cross to reach the doctor, and Blue Cross does not provide a direct number either. The process completely stalled. I am now unable to receive treatment before the end of the year. This is especially frustrating because I had already met my out-of-pocket maximum for the year, which is why I was trying so hard to get this scheduled. The amount of time wasted on futile phone calls and emails is unacceptable. To make matters worse, this all started with a different doctor at this practice whom I saw last Spring. That doctor said I could schedule when I saw him again over the summer--only to be informed during that summer appointment that the doctor was retiring and I would need to see someone else. I still don't understand why I had to come in just to be told that. All subsequent issues occurred under the care of Dr. Osterberg. Healthcare is complicated enough. Patients should not have to chase down schedulers, manage insurance failures caused by late or incomplete submissions, or email doctors personally just to receive basic care. This practice is deeply disorganized, and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

They have outdoor spaces as well as a small parking garage. My appointment was early in the morning so I still had choices to park outside or in the parking garage. I chose to park in the garage since it was raining. Checking in when I got there was easy. The receptionist was welcoming and friendly. My wait time in the waiting area to be called back for my appointment wasn't too long. The waiting area is nice and roomie with nice comfortable chairs and a TV. The are was very clean. When I got called to go back to the exam room the doctors assistant was friendly and professional. She asked questions about my health history, what brought me into see the doctor and took my blood pressure. She was straight to the point. The wait time before the doctor actually came in was about 40 minutes...longer than I wanted to wait. Once the doctor came in he was friendly and polite. He asked what brought me into see him and he listened to all of my concerns and problems. He took the time address everything separately and made sure he covered all of my concerns and issues. My only problem was, I had a hard time understanding everything he was explaining because I didn't understand some of the terminology and medical terms. I should have said something, but I didn't, so that's on me. I like this doctor and I feel like I'm getting the proper treatment and care. My first opinion of this medical practice is great. I will continue to be a patient of theirs. I didn't mention any names because I didn't get permission to use their names.

He told me that I should call the office in about 10 months when one of my current prescriptions would run out and they would fill it. It was a carry over prescription from a previous doctor from before I moved to Texas, but he put in my records that I was taking it. I scheduled my new appointment in a year, and in about 10 months I called to get my prescription filled. It was not filled and the doctor's office never reached out to me. I called them about a week later to check status, and the admin staff told me that the nurses opted not to refill it unless I made an appointment to see a doctor. I informed the admin staff I already had an appointment and asked them to check my records. They said they'd send this info to the nurses. Once again, they did not refill it and once again no one reached out to me. Really terrible that I followed the doctor's instructions exactly, and the nurses will screw you over like that and not let you get your medicine. Also, no one even reached out to me to tell me that they will not fill my prescription...they just blew you off completely and let you figure it out on my own when I realized that they were not just being slow, but they were blowing me off. I have canceled my future appointments with Austin Urology. They they don't treat their patients in a professional or supportive manner. They should at least reach out to patients to discuss the situation instead of blowing them off completely...especially when patients need a medication. I do not recommend Austin Urology at all. Go somewhere else.
