It was clean and parking was fine. The team wash pleasant. But I have seen two different doctors here and felt rushed each time and the third one didn't follow-up like they said they would. Update: lowering my score as I've seen three physicians here, felt rushed or lack of info on each visit, usually you're given up to 15 minutes with a doctor per most insurance plans but here you only get 5. It's been a consistent trend. I went hoping to get information but instead I was brushed off and given a prescription that I didn't even need. I've been coming here for over ten years on and off and it's just gotten so much worse. Dr Mobley heard my situation for less than five minutes and said "if it's not bothering you don't worry about it" and rushed off as I tried to say it was bothering me. Saw dr Jones and again less than five minutes, just wrote a prescription that I didn't even need and finally ordered some test. Then I see his nurse practitioner to go over the notes and she to time with me but she made a suggestion that previous doctors told me would be bad for me and kept going on about it even after I said it was a bad idea and I've already done it. We had to wait for more results. She was supposed to call me with the final results. Two weeks later and I got a call from someone else telling me to make a telehealth appointment. I've already seen three doctors there, paid all my bills, was told I'd receive a call with results. This place really doesn't have its ish together. I decided to look up the owners and it seems it's private equity. I really feel that the doctors are being forced to burn and churn. read more

Impossible to get hold of them on phone. for prescription, I gave them the need, they did send for refill, but was not for 2 per day! I went personally and told the receptionist, I cannot pee, they did not seem to care. Appointmein November. I do not recommend them. Find a different practice. After years of challenges, I'm looking elsewhere. I'm frequently out of medicine for weeks or months, even after trying to start refill procedures a month in advance. They are horrific in terms of returning calls, ordering lab work, working with pharmacies and more. I understand they are overburdened but if they have so much traffic that it causes months of delays, you could argue they should have the revenue to hire more staff and streamline efforts. Also, they do not acknowledge any challenges they create and there doesn't seem to be any escalation paths at all. Walk away. read more

My experience with Urology Austin has been an absolute disaster, marked by weeks of delays, poor communication, and basic administrative incompetence. I began trying to schedule treatment in late-October. Every time I called the office, I spoke with a front-desk staff member who told me that "a scheduler would call me back within 24-48 hours." That call never came. I repeatedly followed up--sometimes every 48ish hours--and made no progress for weeks. The only way I was able to get any response was by emailing the doctor directly at a personal email address, which felt highly inappropriate and was the only thing that finally prompted someone to call me back. At that point, on November 11th, I was told I needed to complete three forms for insurance pre-authorization. I completed all forms immediately. Despite this, the pre-authorization was not submitted to my insurance company until exactly one week before my scheduled treatment, on December 9th. Worse, the submission apparently included no supporting documentation showing that I was eligible for the treatment. As a result, Blue Cross Blue Shield requested a peer-to-peer review between the doctor and one of their clinicians. However, there is no direct phone number for Blue Cross to reach the doctor, and Blue Cross does not provide a direct number either. The process completely stalled. I am now unable to receive treatment before the end of the year. This is especially frustrating because I had already met my out-of-pocket maximum for the year, which is why I was trying so hard to get this scheduled. The amount of time wasted on futile phone calls and emails is unacceptable. To make matters worse, this all started with a different doctor at this practice whom I saw last Spring. That doctor said I could schedule when I saw him again over the summer--only to be informed during that summer appointment that the doctor was retiring and I would need to see someone else. I still don't understand why I had to come in just to be told that. All subsequent issues occurred under the care of Dr. Osterberg. Healthcare is complicated enough. Patients should not have to chase down schedulers, manage insurance failures caused by late or incomplete submissions, or email doctors personally just to receive basic care. This practice is deeply disorganized, and I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I trusted Dr. Lawrence Tsai and Texas Urology Specialists with a life-changing penile implant surgery in December 2025. Shortly after surgery, I began reporting significant problems, including loss of length, asymmetry, poor glans support, and ongoing functional issues. Rather than investigating these complaints, I was repeatedly told to continue cycling the implant and wait. Because my complaints were not properly documented or taken seriously, my insurance company repeatedly denied imaging requests that could have identified the problem much sooner. Months later, after I sought answers on my own, an MRI confirmed what I had been reporting from the beginning: undersized cylinders, 1.3 cm proximal migration of the left cylinder, and a left lateral floppy glans deformity. The most disturbing part of this experience is that Dr. Tsai ultimately dropped me from his care while I was still in the critical stages of healing and actively seeking help for unresolved complications. Instead of receiving support, I was left to navigate specialist referrals, insurance battles, and diagnostic testing on my own. I am now scheduled for revision surgery in September 2026 to correct problems that were never adequately addressed. Complications can occur with any surgery. What I cannot accept is having legitimate concerns dismissed, objective findings ignored until proven by imaging, and then being abandoned as a patient when I needed care the most. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Dr. Tsai or Texas Urology Specialists. read more

I got out of the hospital on February 12th and was referred to Urology Austin. I called them and they said they needed a PCP referral. I called my PCP and got the referral sent over... But then they stated that it had the wrong insurance name. So I sent a new referral with the correct insurance which they already had because I had provided that information to them previously ( Which is how they knew I needed a PCP referral) They then stated that the doctor name of my PCP wasn't listed on the card so I updated that. They then stated that they had never received a referral. Each call was followed up with someone will get back to you within 24-48 hours. They never did I called them every day. My care was getting urgent as I had a stent in my kidney that needs to be removed. Finally they decided they had the referral and they could find nothing wrong with it and so they scheduled me an appointment. I was scheduled for 2/26/2026 at 8:40. I rearranged my work schedule, arranged child care, changed meetings only to be called back today and told that the name they had provided to my PCP to schedule with for the referral was not the person they had scheduled me with so I needed a new referral. Finally I got that done and they stated they had cancelled the appointment but good news since they had the doctor's information that I now was no longer scheduled for they could schedule me with their assistant. I said fine at this point as it has been 14 days. Finally thinking I am making progress I answer their questions. Yes I was referred by the hospital, I have a stent, kidney infections, kidneys have low functioning, kidney stones. They then say they can't schedule it because I need to go see the doctor that put the stent in. I can't see that doctor because he is a hospitalist and doesn't have patient hours or set appointments. So now I am stuck. I have stent that needs to be removed and the only way I can get it moved is to go back through the ER to have it removed, costing me more money and it doesn't guarantee that it will be removed and then... I still won't be able to schedule an appointment because they obviously don't want patients. Their actions have posed a serious risk to my health and well being. Don't use them ever, don't accept referrals to them. read more

If you have an emergency or you need surgery they don't rush for anybody. They told me I needed to have a rush surgery for one of my kidney stones but the scheduler still hasn't sent my authorization in I requested callbacks and never heard from anybody. read more

Great Doctors, Horrible practice, If you value your time and patience don't go. They cannot keep an appointment time. In four visits they have run anywhere from 20 minutes to over an hour and half behind schedule. This is particularly ironic as they have a strict late policy for patients. If you miss your appointment time by 15 minutes they reserve the right to fine you $100.00. By that estimate they owe me $700.00. read more

I called to make my mother a hospital follow up for a kidney mass that needs surgery ASAP was told she could not be seen for 2 week but would have the nurse call me to get her in sooner, a week later I am still waiting for that call, I have left 3 messages for either the nurse or office manager to call me, if you need to be seen ASAP for something serious DONT hold your breath waiting for them to call you back, they don't care about GOOD patient care!! read more

I've had it with the staff at Urology Austin. I love my doctor. Dr. Hardee is great. She's knowledgeable and personable. But I still can't figure out what's wrong with the staff. Are they underpaid? Are they unskilled? Do they just not care? Time after time, I've had a problem getting my prescriptions refilled. They call it in to the wrong pharmacy. They call in the wrong vial size. ... Or they just don't respond at all. There's no way to contact anyone directly. Just the portal and the off-shore messaging service they use. They rarely check messages in the portal. And as far as I can tell, any messages left with their off-shore service go into a black hole. No messages get through to the office or the staff. I'm really close to filing a complaint with the Texas Medical Board over the shoddy service their staff gives. I hate to do that, because, as I said, my doctor is great. It's the "care" offered between my semi-annual appointments that's abysmal. I would be happy to adjust this review if I started seeing consistently better service from the staff. If I could give Dr. Hardee a separate review, I'd leave her five stars. If I was gauging the staff separately, this would be a 1-star review. read more

The doctors within Urology Austin are knowledgeable and professional. The shame of it is that each and every staff member positioned between you and your doctor will wildly underdeliver in every aspect time and time again. Blood labs, prescriptions, appointment scheduling, call backs for status updates, all of it. I can't think of one transaction with this office that I haven't had to over communicate and persistently follow up on every aspect of. It really is a shame because I've liked both doctors I've had with UA, but the staff involved makes it prohibitive for me to recommend this business to anyone. From NPs, to staff, to their outsourced customer service reps, it's been consistently bad (and at times completely unacceptable). I'm no lawyer, but I would argue that the handling of multiple issues I've had with this office would border on medical malpractice. For potentially incoming patients, I would seek building an ongoing relationship elsewhere. read more

I have had several issues with this office. I am a patient of Dr Burge. The first time they didn't send in my urinalysis so I had to go through several antibiotics until something worked. Now I went for a renal ultrasound. The results are back but there is no PA and Dr burge wont call. It has been almost 3 weeks. The receptionist said the results are there and still no call. Dr. Maloney is fantastic and has cared for me for more than 20years. He will be the reason I decide to stay with UA! The new telephone operators appear to work offsite and not helpful. I've been with Eurology austin north side for 4 years. my expectations were minimal, see a doctor, get a prescription and have them renew the prescription whenever it is needed. here are the issues: 1. If you do the lab at their facility they never communicate the results to you and even when you call them they never reply. When they do they keep saying the doctor will call you if there is anything wrong but at times my results were lower than the target but they never called me. 2. You hardly ever get a hold of a person when you call 3. when you leave a message they never call back or renew the prescription 4. even though I see dr Hardeman every 6 months, they never update the prescriptions when they run out. I've been trying to renew my prescription for the past 3 weeks and they are yet to reply to me or the pharmacist to renew the prescription 5. God forbid if you owe them $1 because they will hunt you down with calls like, all of a sudden, they just discovered the phone I am frustrated with this clinic. I'm done with them read more

My doctor is fine, but my Flomax refill needs are out of sync with my six-month PSA labs and appointments. Then reauthorizations for refills somehow don't happen automatically at the appointments, and in between, they are a COMPLETE BEAR to try to get to happen, such that in the past I've ended up having to drive to Radam Lane to make them happen. This time, their AFTER HOURS phone call guy, at their CALL CENTER, which is ALL you get EVEN IF you phone the Radam Lane number during daytime hours, said that he is NOT ALLOWED to send them an urgent refill-need message for when they open at 8:00 a.m. an hour from now. So I have to go out there myself, or Walgreens who faxed them a request yesterday, has to have had success. Two times ago, my refill request via their portal didn't produce anything. A previous portal message I'd sent on something else apparently hadn't been looked at, months later. Alternatively, I phoned the RADAM LANE number DURING THE DAY, instead got the CALL CENTER, put in the request, and a day and a half later, NOTHING HAD HAPPENED, which is why I went out there to DO IT MY effing SELF. I'm feeling forced to change doctors, because right now, this morning, I'm en route to bladder and/or kidney effects. Bottom line, if you choose Urology Austin as a provider, DO NOT depend on either their portal or the Internet phone number. Both are really totally HORRIBLE. read more

The doctors I've seen at UA are good at what they do, but the good part ends there. There is no getting through to them using their main number, and they don't offer contact information for the individual offices. Way too much time is wasted waiting for somebody to pick up, and there is no option to leave a message, so you end up following their callback instructions. The menu tells you that you won't lose your place in queue if you leave your number for a callback, but that never happens. I left my number 3 different days, and they never called. There is no excuse for this total disregard for their patients. read more

12/1/24. Austin Urology in Round Rock does have bad customer service. The RN refused to give my subscription prior approval to my pharmacy so this can be covered by my health insurance. This subscription was provided by Dr. Maloney there. I requested twice and my health insurance requested twice. The RN that refused to cooperate stated they do not have time to call any insurance and it takes too long. New potential patients- beware if your prescription will require prior approval for renewals, you may not be covered if this staff does not cooperate. read more

Very Caring Doctors & Nurses. Got Right To The Basics. Did Everything They Said They Would Do.

My initial appointment/Jollyville Road turned out to be a PA, which for intake was fine. I then had lab tests and returned for a follow-up appointment at the Jollyville office. I met with the same PA, who just wanted to schedule me for the surgery method of my choosing. ?? I was left on my own to research the types of surgery, the risks, etc. . At that point, I had NOT seen nor talked to an MD. I felt like the PA was rushing me to surgery without any information. Medical practices should help a patient make well-informed decisions, not handed a couple of pamphlets and sent home to choose. My GP physician had sent me to Urology Associates without a physician recommendation, so I made an appointment with him and was given Dr. David Phillips name. He's obviously busy, I had to schedule an appointment well in advance. But like they say, when choosing a Chinese restaurant, look for one that's very busy, so your odds of getting a good meal are better. I had to sit for an hour after my appointment time in the waiting room at the 38th Street office, hardly a rare occurrence anymore. I'm not sure what happened to the prescription order that was supposed to be sent to my pharmacy, but the pharmacy said they didn't have it. That will be resolved. Information and knowledge is power. It seems like our medical system of running us old guys on Medicare through as fast as possible isn't the gold standard of medical care the Republicans think we have. read more

The staff at Urology Austin are Phenomenal! Everyone there are extremely friendly! My wife was there for a follow up exam and had to fast! In between the exam and seeing the doctor Robert came up to check on her. She told him she was fine but really hungry do you have anything to eat as she laughed (LOL)! He responded back all I have is a cough drop and they both began to laugh. He later came back with some snacks! What an amazing response and awesome service. Then another amazing employee named Jennifer also found some snacks and offered them to my starving wife LOL! The staff is awesome along with her doctor, DR Zaid! I then get a letter from a collection agency TO THE CORRECT ADDRESS that matched their portal. So Lame. Cannot recommend. read more

I'll spare excruciating detail. The bottom line is that Dr. Ruff did not show up for his appointment with me and his office still tried to schedule a surgery for me. I waited 3 weeks - and an expensive hospitalization - to even get an appointment. 4 hours before the appt I was told I needed an xray to see the doctor. I ran to ARA to get the xray and then was told the xray was not needed. I was on time. 30 minutes early even. I waited nearly an hour after my appointed time. I was told he was "seeing patients". I was then told "he's a doctor". I'm a doctor too but don't disregard the value of my clients' time or use my "rank" to diminish others to someone "less" than a doctor. The haughty self-importance and indifference for patients was palpable. I paid for a specialist and I got dumped to a nurse nearly an hour after my appointment. Surely she was nice, but I paid for, and reserved time with, Dr. Ruff. The nurse told me he could come in to "say hi". This is a very busy office with many patients sitting in the waiting room. It seems like they schedule the patients too close together and rush them through. When they get behind, they don't inform the patients that their appointed times will not be met nor give an estimated time of when/if said patients might be seen. The office seems more concerned with scheduling as many patients as possible rather than ensuring quality of care. With a "say hi" attitude, there's no way I'd trust them. The "office" called a few days later and wanted to schedule surgery via phone message with a different doc. Without ever seeing me. Yikes. Ka-ching for them. Myriad questions on my part. Since I did not see Dr. Ruff and did not receive what I paid for, I requested a refund of my $40 copay. This refund was issued and I am satisfied with that resolution but still think there are many issues to be addressed. Not recommended. read more

I have only been here once following up on an ER visit for kidney stones. 4 stars because the office didn't tell me until 1 day before that I needed to get an x-ray prior to my office visit. I also had to ask twice for my new patient paperwork Dr. Williamson didn't keep me waiting too long for my appt, he was knowledgeable and explained all options for treatment. He was able to schedule me the next day for lithotripsy. That went well and I will have a final follow up later this month. If anything changes, I will let you know. read more

Urology Austin used to be good, now they rate as the worst of the worst - they failed to call in lab orders and then could not access results, failed to renew prescriptions until multiple phone calls made from the patient and pharmacy and then leave you waiting for up to hour past appointment times - they really have become a terrible provider though I did love Dr. Cuellar, whoever is running the office is terrible. read more

UPDATED. Dr. Bischoff is terrific -- FIVE STARS for him and his nurse -- but it seems like some support staff may need guidance on customer service. We've had two previous problems: with billing and with making appointments. The billing issue was resolved after a manager became involved. After my review on the appointment issue, a manager called to apologize. She explained that the staff member we had dealt with for the appointment had also received complaints from other patients and that additional customer service training was in store for the entire staff. A practice with such great doctors deserves competent office staff, and it appears management is taking steps to ensure that happens. read more

I just left Urology Austin for the last time. Actually, I walked out of the waiting room in disgust. I have been a patient of Dr. Pickett for over fifteen years, and I have had enough. I am tired of the long waits I have been forced to endure. I don't think this office understands the concept of time. I have NEVER waited less than 45 minutes to be taken back to the next waiting room, where I usually spend another 30 to 45 minutes waiting for the doctor. I cannot understand why I have to spend two hours of my day for a five minute consultation with the doctor. I'm tired of being treated with such disrespect. I am the customer after all. I think it is unreasonable to treat customers this way, and without even the smallest apology or acknowledgment of their wrongdoing. And I'm not basing this review or opinion on a single event. I have tried early morning appointments (thinking there is no way the doctor can be behind at the start of the day) and afternoon appointments. There is no difference in the wait time. Once, I had the first appointment of the day and was asked to reschedule (after waiting an hour) because the doctor was not in the office yet! Really?!!! If he can't get to the office, even if it is because he is doing hospital rounds, then why schedule appointments for that early in the morning?! So, I'm off to find a new urologist, without fear or worry. After all, I can't possibly be MORE disappointed in my next doctor! read more

It's virtually impossible to reach a live person in their remote billing office. Calls to the office are put on terminal hold. Voice mail box is always full. They send out bills that are dated 15 days earlier than the date of receipt. Bill are inaccurate. Sloppy business practices. No one in their medical practice office can assist -- they just refer to the remote billing office number and say to call back if no one can be reached in a day or two. Very unprofessional and clearly out of control of their "business office." Update: Their billing is Alabama. When I complained of their practices, the remote billing office transferred me to "the billing office" at Urology Austin -- which I was told by office staffers previously didn't exist. read more

Urology Austin on James Casey is the worst experience I've ever had at doctor's office. The front staff are either totally apathetic or out of it. My visit I came in and filled out paperwork. What I thought was my paperwork. After waiting 40 minutes plus and seeing people who had been waiting shorter durations than myself I was told that they had forgotten to give me some major paperwork. After filling that out I still had to wait a long time to be seen. By the way it would be good for a urologists office to tell their patients to drink plenty of water before they arrive so that making a urinalysis sample is not a holdup. The insurance clerk does not make a good impression as she is not articulate and on the day I was there appeared stoned. Dr. Northway is the most unpleasant doctor I have ever encountered. His mood swings violently in the course of a conversation. I had waited over an hour for 5 minutes of face time. Upon calling as scheduler for ARA imaging paperwork for the CT scan I was to have I was told that the codes used by Austin Urology made no sense. That eventually was ironed out a week or so later I had my CT scan. Upon my return to discuss the CT with Dr. Northway a week or so later again I had to deal with the clueless insurance clerk at the front window. The nurse who took my blood pressure acted very resentful of my being there. Dr. Northway in one of his more manic moments inserted a camera of sorts into my penis. This was a very painful procedure and it would have been beneficial if I had been alerted at my previous visit that this was a coming attraction. The only ray of sunshine in the whole ordeal was the nurse who prepped me for my "telescoping". When looking at my CT he pointed out a lymph node that was twice the normal size. He kept telling me that it was nothing to "laugh off" and that I needed to see an oncologist. He wouldn't let me finish with my questions and talked over me. He acted too busy to have a reasonable conversation with a patient. He has the empathy of a cinder block. I strongly recommend that you steer clear of this medical professional and his staff. read more

Details are so tediously numerous I'm leaving much out: - December of this year it took two weeks and seven phone calls to renew a px I've taken daily for four years ... incl. being told that the px had been phoned into the pharmacy ... when it hadn't ... and requiring me to go to Urology Austin's office desk in person to re-re-request the px renewal ... after I had by then run out of the medicine. Meanwhile my daughter is having emergency surgery in the hospital next door, and I'm dealing with pronounced after-effects of chemo treatment for an unrelated cancer. (The on-call Urology Austin doctor that I had last spoken with about getting the px renewed, by the way - which was then call 7 on day 14 of trying, for what should have been an utterly routine matter - berated me over the phone for "waiting so long.") - This summer I again needed a px renewal. I had received messages from the pharmacy that they would process it ... but then that they were awaiting the doctor's response ... and then that the doctor had refused to renew, and that he was now requiring I come into his office. I'd run out of the med at this point, and only after voicing to the doctor how exceptionally unclear and frustrating the px procedures were, he informs me it could cost him a $500 fine to renew without seeing me first. I tell him, that after four years, that's a first time I'd been so informed; and I try to suggest that there's got to be a more efficient procedure. He then tells me, again, that it would cost him a $500 fine to renew without seeing me first. I once more suggest that the process is unduly unpleasant and disorganized. And he then tells me, again, it would cost him a $500 fine .... at which point I inform him, "We're done." I forego mentioning to him that I had had to take time away from funeral arrangements for my father, who had died the day before, to make this appointment with him, that I was sleep deprived and dealing with markedly unpleasant neurological effects from an epilepsy med, or that there were still other matters in my life in addition to those things that were more pressing than getting the urology prescription renewed. - When I subsequently mentioned to a staff member at Urology Austin my displeasure at how unnecessarily unpleasant the process had once more been, I was told that their Office Manager would want to know about my experience. UNBELEIVABLE. How, in 2017, can Social Security Numbers be unencrypted??? In a TECH TOWN like Austin??!! I receive the letter. 2 months after the known breach. 2 months! It has an 800 number on it that says, "please call this number if you have questions". Then it is signed by Rob Lindahl. You would think that is the number for Austin Urology, but it is not. It is the number for the theft protection service they have contacted, Kroll. Cowards. They don't even put their own number on the paper. Nowhere. So I Google Austin Urology for a phone number, press the buttons to get to billing, and state that I hope the IT person is fired. That this puts my life savings in jeopardy for rest of my life. She says she will transfer me to the CEO. I get transferred, and the recording says, "this is not a valid mailbox... transferring to the operator" and then terminates the call. At that point, it's Yelp time. I used their services 6 years ago. SSN numbers are ONLY needed for insurance purposes. Why do they store them indefinitely??? Why do they not encrypt these numbers in 2017, when not a week goes by before the news reports some company is hacked. Why do they not delete the SSN when the services are over. The ONLY benefit of keeping it on line is to not have to ask you again when you return, if you ever return. That benefit is vastly outweighed by the downside risk. Just keep the last 4 numbers. Encrypt them. Holy smokes. They buy a year of protection. Really? They have put my life savings at risk for the remainder of my life and they buy 1 measly year of support. That is about $100 or so at LifeLock. What idiots. There is no excuse. Bill Burr says it best... you talk to someone who says, "I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do" until you go crazy. Rant over. Going to a doctor is bad enough. Going to a urologist is even worse. Having all my personal data stolen on top is adding insult to injury. I never dreamed in a million years that our personal information was being stored in some insecure database. I got a letter stating that all my personal information was hacked from their system. I haven't gotten a single follow-up notice: is someone investigating the hack? Has my identity been stolen? Never again. read more
