Dr. Baker is definitely the Best # 1 Doctor. My husband and I are incredibly lucky to have Dr.Baker. He saved my husband's life. We have never seen such a brilliant, compassionate, friendly, kind doctor with an excellent job. Dr. Baker removed my husband's one kidney successfully due to renal pelvis cancer. He cleaned all connected organs. He also found and completely removed cancer in the bladder when he did a biopsy on the renal pelvis. My husband and I are incredibly amazed at his excellent job, kindness in the complete positive sprite. He always explained everything in detail as we understood quickly and easily about what was going on, listened to our questions and concerns patiently, and explained everything thoroughly with peaceful smiles. One of the most frustrating places I've ever worked with. Once you get to a doctor, it's great! But the entire lead-up is awful. My first appointment, they sent me to an old office no longer in service, then claimed they had no record of me (I was looking at their confirmation email on my phone as they told me this). When they finally booked me in, months later, I could only see a PA. On my follow-up with the doctor, she canceled 30 minutes before and I couldn't get in for two more months. I just hung up with someone in billing about an incorrect bill (I promise I wasn't rude or mad at her) and felt compelled to genuinely ask her, "Are you mad at me? What's going on?", because of the way she was speaking to me. They're frustrating, unprofessional, and honestly just pretty bad at their jobs. read more

The previous reviews going back to 2014 are correct when they say Urology Austin has a phone call, front counter, no call backs, can't talk to a nurse problems. If you need to talk to a nurse the crappy third party can only take a message. You better pray it's not an immediate need because these people will not get back to you for up to a week. We usually have to call again and leave a message again. The time to get to talk to a nurse takes around two weeks. If you miss the call you will not be transferred back to a nurse either. This insane process will start all over. This problem has been notated not only by us for two years with the nurses, Dr. Maloney, the office manager but also on yelp with other patients since 2014. The second problem is the portal. What a worthless, useless unreliable piece of garbage. It doesn't work. We have relayed for two years that it doesn't work. We have told the nurses, the front office staff, the office manager and Dr. Maloney to no resolution. We have been lied to by one of the many office managers who said "it's a new program and we are working the bugs out."I called the two office managers who told me this out and let them know that wasn't true because literally on yelp the same problem with the same exact statement was given to multiple patients over the course of years and I know this because it was recorded as a complaint on yelp since 2014 and even back then the old office manager back then was lying to patients. Third, Urology Austin goes through office managers like water through a faucet. I don't know why but I've overheard office staff commenting about this fact. Thirdly; Dr. Malone doesn't address root causes. He treats symptoms, doesn't answer questions, rushes through your appointment, and if you request more testing, you're ignored. He gloats that he does three surgeries a week. That seems highly excessive. Why is he not solving the problem of why certain conditions are existing to begin with? He also never remembers patients. We don't expect to have a close relationship but after two years and you're still introducing yourself as if it's the first time meeting us, then this doctor should be examined for dementia. Fourthly, front office staff. There one woman in particular. We tried the formal complaint process to no avail. She has her cell phone at the cr desk and plays music on it. Cell phones record everything regardless of whether the record button is on or not. This HIPPA violation was never addressed by the office manager. I was refused information and paperwork to file a formal HIPPA complaint. Fifth; I complained that the third party was asking medical questions. This is a HIPPA. Violation. Again, I was ignored when I requested to file a formal complaint in writing. This area is devoI'd of urologists. This company is taking advantage of this fact and not doing its sworn duty to care for the patient. This is a corporation and they treat the patient like an assembly line. read more

Billing consistency! I have been going to Urology Austin (UA) for several years now. I make an appointment for my annual checkup, I arrive at my appointment, I pay the co-pay and I'm finished with the financial aspect of the visit. A few days ago, I received a billing statement via email. Yesterday I opened the email and logged into my account. I owed UA $65.00. This morning, I log into my account and the statement read $25.45. I open "view bill" and I owe UA $23.03 per the billing statement. I called UA and spoke to a Billing Representative. The Billing Representative's explanation was my insurance company didn't pay for the entire cost of the labs (urinate in a cup). She further stated that the $65.00 that I had seen yesterday was due to the $40.00 co-payment had not been received, but the $40.00 co-payment had been received this morning. I now owe $25.45. I explained that I had never had to pay for anything in the past other than my co-pay. She told me in the past my insurance paid for the total cost of the visit therefore the $2.00 charge for the ultrasound was not billed to me. The Billing Representative stated anything less than $10.00 UA drops the charge on the bill. This was the $2.42 difference between my balance when I logged into my account today ($25.45) and the billing statement ($23.03). If I had paid the $65.00 that was on my account yesterday, I would had overpaid UA. The Billing Representative told me that I owed $25.45, but I could pay the $23.03 and the remaining $2.00 may eventually be removed from my account. I would suggest getting all the numbers in order before you start sending out billing statements. This will save both of us time and money. It's not rocket science! I don't think I've ever had such a bad experience with a doctor's office. Trying to schedule is impossible. Their phone system, I was told, was changed, so all calls just went...nowhere. I ended up having to drive there to make an appt Now the calls go to a call center and you will never get a call back with any questions you might have. UA is a joke. It doesn't matter what location. It is horribly managed. I've been there a long time and it's gone downhill to a point that I don't know how they manage to continue operating. The office staff is generally incompetent. Their central number is a call center (maybe somewhere in central or Eastern Europe) and it is impossible to reach anyone at the actual doctor's office. They leave messages that hardly ever get responded to. Messages in patient portal are ignored. Can't refill prescriptions properly. Can't order labs or imaging properly. God forbid you have an issue with the insurance company. They will never sort through it. My doctor who I was seeing for 9 years retired and the two doctors I've seen since seem like the most apathetic, disinterested people you can imagine. But this has been a downhill slide for a while now. I only stayed because I liked my doctor. Please do yourself a favor and find a different practice. Hopefully it will be better. I would give this practice a one (1) star rating if it wasn't for Dr. Keyes although after I had my surgery, he didn't come by to see how I was doing or give an update about the kidney stone. I've never experienced that. I was referred here from the hospital and Dr. Keyes was very receptive while I was there. Now getting a hold of someone is the worse experience I have ever had to deal with. You can't talk to a nurse or the doctor. You have to leave a message and hope you get a call back. Then if they do call back they don't leave a direct extension so you have to call back and leave another message. I called multiple times because they never responded to the pharmacy or to get my surgery scheduled. Every time I had to leave a message because they WILL NOT have you talk to anyone. They have a script they have to follow. Three times, I called crying and said I would not hang up unless I talked to someone because of the pain. All I got was that my message was escalated to supervisor. All they can do is send messages as I don't think they can call. If I didn't need to start over with another doctor, I would've switched. To add to this, I was supposed to get a call to return to get my stent taken out. No one called me. I just don't know why the communication from the doctor to their staff is lacking. I had to call and was told they didn't have a doctor available so it would have to be the next week. I insisted I see someone and they kept stating "so the doctor said you could have this out?" Like they don't even have access to your records, just the messages you leave. I got an appointment with the nurse. Well they didn't tell me which location so I showed up to the wrong one. I asked them to call the other location that I was running late and they said all they could do was send a message. So not even the front office when checking in can call another office? I think this practice has gotten so big they have lost the patient care and it's all a call center with no ability to talk to anyone or even have their notes updated. You just hope that when they call back, if they do because that doesn't happen, you can answer the phone or expect to wait a long time for a call back. There are so many better urology practices in Austin that provide that patient care is so much better so go somewhere else. What people are writing is 1000% accurate. Try it and see if someone will call you back if you leave a message. Or if you are under care whether you can talk to anyone unless you show up to the office. There is more to the story but I think you get the overall experience I had with the lack of personal, patient care with the inability to talk to a live person. read more

My doctor at Urology Austin is absolutely the best doctor I've ever seen in my five decades. She's attentive and thorough, asks questions of me and allows me to ask questions of her. She is the opposite of the get-you-in-get-you-out service that we've grown to expect from most modern box-checking doctors. However, reaching anyone at the clinic is an absolute nightmare. If you want to call to change an appointment, you'll wait on hold for a long time before reaching someone in a foreign country who doesn't understand that all you want to do is change the day of your appointment. If you forgot just that one question during your most recent appointment and you call the doctor to ask it, be prepared for the same - call, wait on hold for a long time, speak to someone in a foreign country, only to have them tell you that they'll relay the message to the doctor. Maybe you'll get a call back someday, but maybe you won't. If you want to speak to someone at the front desk at the actual clinic, the foreign call center can't or won't forward you to them. As far as I can tell, the only way to reach them is to take time out of your day to drive there and walk in, which I've had to do several times in the past and in fact, I'm about to do as I'm writing this review. Edit: Anytime someone from the office calls you and leaves a voicemail asking you to call them back, good luck reaching that person. If you simply call back and tell the overseas receptionist, "I'm calling for so-and-so, returning her call," they can't or won't let you talk to the person that you're just trying to call back. Instead, as with appointments, they type out a message to the person you're trying to reach. I'm not so sure how often they actually do that. Maybe you'll get a call back, but maybe you won't. read more

I've been with Eurology austin north side for 4 years. my expectations were minimal, see a doctor, get a prescription and have them renew the prescription whenever it is needed. here are the issues: 1. If you do the lab at their facility they never communicate the results to you and even when you call them they never reply and keep saying the doctor will call you if there is anything wrong 2. You hardly ever get a hold of a person when you call 3. when you leave a message they never call back or renew the prescription 4. even though I see dr Hardeman every 6 months, they never update the prescriptions when they run out. I've been trying to renew my prescription for the past 3 weeks and they are yet to reply to me or the pharmacist to renew the prescription 5. God forbid if you owe them $1 because they will hunt you down with calls like, all of a sudden, they just discovered the phone I am frustrated with this clinic. I'm done with them read more

Dealing with the scheduling staff is a major pain in the @$$. I am self pay for the procedure I go to Urology Austin for but they refuse to schedule me an appointment unless they have insurance information on file. I asked Jasmine S why they need insurance information if I am self pay and she continued to repeat herself like a busted record, saying she is unable to move forward without insurance authorization. I'm realizing it's incredibly difficult to find good quality healthcare in the Austin area. It shouldn't be this difficult to get treatment for a procedure that isn't covered by insurance and you are a self pay customer. We love Dr. Cuellar, but dealing with the office is a misery. My husband's appointment was scheduled without notice. Then, after rescheduling a visit to the Round Rock facility and undergoing a blood test, no communication regarding the results was provided. My husband had to call to find out the results, even though he was told they would be submitted to the portal. His follow-up instructions were confusing, unclear and late. He is unable to get clarification from the doc. And now, due to all the delays, he is unable to schedule an MRI before he leaves for a longer-term trip. We verified all of his contact information with the staff, and it is correct, but he has never received any calls that the staff claims they made. Sadly, we are seeking another practice. read more

My primary care physician left his private practice to join a healthcare system and unfortunately they were not able to get me a much needed appointment in their system before the end of the year however I was referred to Urology Austin by my primary care physician when he had his private practice so I was able to get an appointment immediately with Dr Kocurek and as always, he was great as well as the entire staff. read more

From my observation, Dr. Elizabeth Mobley, Cedar Park, is one of the most rude, dismissive, unprofessional and disrespectful doctors. I took the liberty of reviewing notes in the medical record of a patient, our 36 year old daughter, who was begging this provider for help. Literature for Urology Austin boasts over 80 providers, yet one doctor, Elizabeth Mobley, unilaterally terminated patient care without EVER meeting the patient, She also blocked all providers from scheduling our daughter, while she has an active, potentially serious infection. Our daughter has recently had an infection with ESBL producing organisms, and urosepsis in her history. As others have stated in their reviews, it is unbelievable that a urology practice can be so cavalier with complex patients. If this is not corrected, inevitably something very dangerous is going to happen. As of this writing, our daughter is preparing to be seen in the emergency room because she is getting progressively worse. The infection has not abated. Our daughter has tried desperately to avoid this scenario. She took the prescribed antibiotic that she is allergic to and that had been listed as genetically ineffective treatment. Noted in the medical records, (but not shared) a PCR test was ordered by Mobley's mid level provider, Martha. In addition, Dr. Mobley stated she had spoken with hospitalists during two hospitalizations. Our daughter was instructed to "follow discharge instructions" by Stacey Rodriguez, Triage RN, Austin Urology. She stated she had been given that edict by Dr. Mobley. (After reviewing Stacey's notes from June 17th, an addendum, I immediately noticed an inconsistency in what she had written in the patient's records and with what was actually discussed with me) Discharge instructions from Seton Williamson, were for our daughter to follow up with her urologist (Dr. Mobley, per records) and Infectious Disease and to continue oral antibiotics. ID had a wait before she could be seen so I scheduled out with an ID provider. I believe UA/Dr. Mobley was responsible for patient care in the interim. Our daughter picked up the antibiotic and continued taking it although she feared it would not work as historically it hadn't. This was not the appropriate time to terminate care without ever personally speaking with nor seeing the patient. Taking the word of others without giving the patient an opportunity to communicate is unacceptable. That is exactly what Dr. Mobley did to our daughter. Our daughter is very anxious and afraid of developing sepsis. She fears nothing will work to clear the infection. Unfortunately her mental state is now affected. The incredulous part of all of this, is that the doctor is a "leader" in this organization. She is listed as a board member of the parent company, Urology America and president of Urology Austin. Absolutely unbelievable. I have an immediate family member who is a medical doctor, a pulmonologist, with a specialty in critical care, an associate professor, attending physician, Johns Hopkins fellowship trained, SHE would NEVER dream of being so callous. Dr. Mobley behaves as if she is all knowing. She accused me and my daughter of being argumentative, fear mongering and threatening, although she has NEVER had a conversation with either of us. She says in a note to our daughter when attempting to justify the termination that there is not a "therapeutic relationship" between them. Indeed a good "patient-doctor" relationship, by definition, is necessary for more positive outcomes. "Trust, COMMUNICATION, Empathy and PARTICIPATORY decision making" are critical components to the relationship. I view "therapeutic" as a psychological term. A mental health provider, clearly, would behave differently. Again, Elizabeth Mobley, had never met nor spoken with our daughter. She was so uncaring that she had not bothered to speak with me when requested. She based all of her assumptions and assertions on what her staff, a hospitalist that I, not my daughter, had spoken with and random people. As one can see by other reviews, many in this forum complained of what amounts to the lack of professionalism by UA staff. I can clearly by another patient's review, our daughter is not the only one treated in a condescending manner by Elizabeth Mobley. This confirmed my assessment of this provider. Although she specializes in treating male prostate issues, she is also on staff to work with female patients. Actually, if you read her own perception of her role, she emphasizes her interest in working with male and female patients. She failed our daughter. This is not a provider I would recommend. I am aware that on some platforms there are a few positive reviews. But, as Dr. Maya Angelou said, "When someone shows you who they are, believe them". read more

I went to the location on W. 38th St last week. At the front desk the young man had some trouble finding me on the schedule. He barely acknowledged my presence (you know the type behind a medical counter?) and finally I asked if he found it as I had been standing there a couple minutes. He whispered he had. I mean whispered, like it was an imposition to respond. Next I greeted the med assistant I remembered from last year who this time around was unfriendly as well. She did a sloppy job with the abdomen cream and I kidded her about it. She responded, "I do this twenty-two times a day". Either she meant she was an expert or she was too bored to care. After she took my blood I asked her for some tape to hold the cotton down and she didn't answer back. I asked her again as the doctor walked in and I called it to his attention that she didn't have the courtesy or compassion if you will to take care of me. She sounded drunk and had a lousy demeanor - very unprofessional. Instead of answering a simple question she decided to try and talk down to me because I hadn't received my EOB from my insurance yet. If I could pick zero stars I would. Hands down the worst practice and front office I have ever seen. The docs seem ok but the way they run the office is extreme negligence. I am on testosterone injections and have run out multiple times. Four times in a row they screwed up my appointment such that I can't be seen. The odd time they keep an appointment they are min 45 mins late.They don't care no matter how many times we explain and complain. Stay as far away from these idiots as you can. Urology Austin has absolutely the worst front office /scheduling /contact procedures -or I should say lack thereof. As a returning patient with prostate cancer -merely trying to book my follow up appointment , the contact number tells you to book online. After filling out all the required fields online the result is ' you must call office to book appointment' No one ever answers the office phones. The recording asks you to leave your number for a call back and they have outsourced this service to a group that asks if you have fallen recently, lost weight , feel safe at home. They have no access to your records and do not follow through with arranging an appointment. Absolutely ridiculous, time consuming and frustrating. Again no appointment is scheduled. Also , too funny not to share ;their website says we value your feedback -please share your review. There is no icon or method by which to share a review. The Dr we see is outstanding but the front desk procedures and service are so poor we are now traveling to md anderson. read more

Office experience is awful. They fail to provide any of the promised follow-up activities. When you call them to try get a follow up test kit or any follow on activity from a procedure you are met with absolute stonewalling. The have no call back number besides a call center that just sends a note to the people to follow-up who don't follow-up. One of the worst medical experiences I've had. Dr. Baker seems to be a good urologist, but the office staff is a nightmare. Impossible to talk to a real person, little to no followup and long, long waiting times to get to see the doctor and when you do get in you have to wait a long time in the office. Before I decided to leave, I was on the ninth month of trying to get a medication -- insurance was denying the specific medicine, but the worst part was trying to the staff to follow up with me on where we were in the process. Do not go here. Their billing department is incompetent. I have been told that I didn't owe anything after paying for my visit, kit, and vasectomy. I called the office and my insurance and I was told I didn't own anything. Then I get a notice for a bill about a year later after my surgery saying I owed money. I reached out to the billing department multiple times and it somehow went away and I never heard any correspondence back. I had reached out to my insurance and they said I was completely covered and that they would send the proper documents to the clinic. I'm not sure why there are all the negative comments about the office staff here because they have always been nice, helpful and friendly to me. As an older adult male I badly needed a procedure on my prostate (Rezum) to restore my ability to urinate normally. Dr McClelland did the procedure and follow-up and the results were great. It was a serious lifestyle improvement for me and I am very satisfied. I now return yearly for a PSA blood test, urine sample, ultrasound to check urine retention in my bladder and brief consult with his nurse practitioner, Amy Russo, who is also very nice. Before the procedure my bladder was always retaining urine but now it empties fully. I highly recommend them. read more

Appalling wait for our appointment. Waited over an hour with no explanation as to why except that "they were using the machine." Seriously? Nothing? Is this is typical of medical offices these days....? Not okay! read more
