We were having a few issues with our Kitchen Aid refrigerator. The freezer would accumulate frost…read morebuildup and water would leak out onto the kitchen floor. We called Covina Appliance as they were fairly local and had good Yelp reviews. We scheduled an appointment and they came out to inspect. They diagnosed the problem as a clogged drain, but they also recommended changing the drawer slides to allow for better closure. We agreed and waited several weeks for the parts to come in. Once the parts came in, the technician came out to replace the slides and clear the drain. He confirmed that the work would now resolve the issues we were experiencing. Within a few weeks, we noticed that ice was continuing to accumulate in the freezer. Given that we were out of town during the holidays, we figured we'd deal with it afterwards. We called the office and had the office staff look up the work order. They confirmed that frost buildup was part of the original request that was addressed. When we explained that the problem was not satisfactorily addressed, we were told that the labor warranty was only good for 30 days, and we were 5 days late! Unbelievable! The only offer we received was a waiver of the service triage fee, but would still be liable for the frost repair, which had already been quoted and paid for during the previous visit. Why would I even consider paying for them to come inspect it again in the first place? Not much of an offer. No thanks. Bottom line, they upsold us on drawer slides we really didn't need, but failed to resolve the actual problem. I would have expected some consideration given that we've done business with Covina Appliance a few times this past year. But given this latest encounter, I am forced to take my business elsewhere.

I even had a washer issue about a year ago and started to call them then but found a way to repair it myself and saved the fee for coming out and any parts charge they would have assessed. About a month ago I had a problem with my oven and was not going to try to fix it myself cause of concerns about messing with a gas appliance. I even shopped around looking for Black Friday deals to replace the stove but it was not in the budget. I relented and called Kerr's just to get an estimate on what it might cost to repair my oven (if it could be repaired.) I even read the reviews here and was a little shocked at the comments because that was not my experience but things do change. The administrator who answered the phone was great. I even joked about the Yelp reviews and she was aware of them (guess the owners do read Yelp...I know I do!) She was kind enough to let me speak with a technician (Archie) and just by his tone I felt a level of trust (true). They ordered the part just in case and scheduled me a couple of days later. When Archie came out part in hand I was prepared to pay through the nose just in case the reviews were right, but after a few minutes he came out and said I have good news. He fixed it! No expensive part required and no crazy charges for labor! The point of this long review is to say Kerr's and specifically Archie, did what they said they were going to do; come out, assess the situation and fix my oven without taking advantage of this guy who can barely tie his shoes without looking at a YouTube video for guidance. He confirmed my suspicion and replaced the drain pump with an OEM LG part and had the washer working again in about 90min.
