We've been going to Doc's in Covina for a long, long time. Unfortunately they were closed - and dismantled - when I went by yesterday. So I looked online and found this place. I walked in to the small shop filled floor to ceiling with everything one could possibly need. The man greeted me and helped me find what I needed - a HEPA filter. I brought two sewing machines to Budget Vacuum and Sewing for servicing. The cost was incredibly reasonable - in fact, it was LESS than I paid in 2018 when I lived in the Bay Area. The work was done in just a few days. While I was in the shop, I had an opportunity to ask about small upholstery cleaning machines. Shopping online for small appliances is convenient, but nothing beats talking to someone IN PERSON who can answer questions and explain why they recommend one model over another based on your own needs. I chose a Bissell Little Green Pro for LESS than currently available on Amazon. I am committed to shopping local these days, so this was a double bonus: great price and in-person Q&A with the store's owner. My 12 year old Dyson DC33 wasn't picking up much when vacuuming. After considering buying a replacement vacuum, I decided to try and repair it and save some of my hard earned cash. I took it into the shop on a Saturday and the issue was immediately diagnosed. I received the unit back all cleaned up and shiny and most importantly working like a brand new vacuum. I would definitely recommend bringing your vacuums here for at least a diagnosis before tossing it in the garbage. Most older vacuums work probably better than that newer models. read more

Replaced my old rug shampooer that burned out the pump. Returned from my Coronado / San Diego vacation to clean my rug. Put rug shampoo in and it starts off oK...but... I smelt something burning... The belt came flying out. A little smoke.. I looked inside the shampooer and all my brother's dog hairs are stuck in there... Went to three places and to repair it was over $100.00. I ended up at Budget..and the salesperson Armando was very professional. But a new shampooer was just a little more then the repair. So Armando the salesperson sold me... New, he opened the box...and...he put it together for me... I hate putting things together... And i left the old shampooer there. My rug looked way better after using this new shampooer that runs on pressure. And this new shampooer doesn't have belts, It has some type of pressure and doesn't suck up doggie hairs. I drove 15 miles to this store because of the reviews. It didn't disappoint. Super easy to communicate with the owner. I dropped off my steam cleaner for a free estimate and a couple of hours later I get a phone call with a rundown and diagnostic of the problems. The shop provided me with a clear choice to repair and take my money (despite the machine being almost beyond repair) or buy a new machine for roughly the same price. I could have gone online (in fact I did before going to the store) to price compare but instead, I looked at the great steam cleaners in his shop and bought one from him for both his honesty and a great price. Came in with my older Miele vacuum for an estimate to fix the cord wider & replace the cord. I was attended to immediately by a friendly gentleman given a fair estimate and informed that the cord winder replacement comes with a new cord. I was told they would track down the part and give me a call for turnaround time and if there was any additional expense. I dropped it off on a Wednesday afternoon and was called first thing Friday morning of the same week, it was fixed and ready for pick up with no additional costs. I would never have found this place if not for my father who recommended this small family shop with great customer service. My girlfriend wanted to take up sewing and had an old sewing machine that belonged to her grandmother but it had not been functional for years. The guys at Budget were able to diagnose the problem, find the proper parts, and had it running like new in just a few days. Later found out they never even opened my machine up to clean it... it was packed full of lint from years of sewing. They lost parts to my machine and then "replaced" them with the wrong parts.
