We have a 20-year-old Kenmore Elite refrigerator. It had been making strange loud noises. I looked on yelp and discovered Rick. I also discovered that several of my neighbors have used him in the past to fix their refrigerators. He inspected our refrigerator and told us that it was the compressor. He said that he might be able to fix it without having to replace the compressor. However, the part he needed was located in El Monte. He drove out to El Monte and came back and installed the part, which fixed our refrigerator! I was so happy that I didn't have to replace it! I highly recommend calling Rick if you need your refrigerator repaired! read more

Richard repaired our under-the-counter U-Line refrigerator a few months ago at a very reasonable price. The initial quote we received was nearly $1,000, which seemed too much, and we considered just investing in a new. Come to find out, the U-Line under-the-counter refrigerator similar to ours was going over $2,000, and the new versions didn't have the same features as our broken fridge, which we got used to and really liked, so the new version was not an option. We decided to get a second quote. We found Dependable Fix in the West Covina Buzz, reached out to him, and were quoted way less than the initial $1,000, and decided it was worth saving. We went ahead and scheduled a service call, and Richard came to our house a few days later. He arrived on time, acted professionally, and fixed the fridge fast. We were very pleased. Highly recommended! Thank you, sir!!! read more

Dependable Fix Appliance Repair - Works like a champ - Appliances & Repair Near Me

Late post update: our GE drawer Microwave went kaputt after so many years of service. Thought of buying a new one but when we found its going to be expensive we decided to call for a repairman. Called in 3 prospected licensed GE repairman but was no luck until one of them recommended Rick Duarte. Texted him and he replied back, we scheduled ( waited a few days due to his availability). He came and fixed the problem within a few hours with no delay. We're very happy that we don't have to spend so much money for purchasing a new one. If you're looking for a GE appliance repairman we highly recommended Rick Duartes work. He's very knowledgeable and definitely we will use him again in the future! read more

Ricky has helped us a few times with our appliances. One time with a really old refrigerator and one time with a second hand refrigerator that I bought. I had an excellent experience both times. I found Ricky to be very knowledgeable and trustworthy. No upsells, no trickery, no BS...he just gets appliances working! When I bought the second hand (but very expensive built-in) refrigerator, it wasn't working as expected. Ricky helped me check each component individually and had me monitor everything over 1-2 weeks. Through the process, he was always available through phone or text and he was super helpful in narrowing down the issue. Now, my second hand refrigerator works like a champ and I have a great understanding of how my refrigerator works. I saved an incredible amount of money (easily $3k+) with Ricky's help. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ricky to anyone who needs some help with their appliances. read more

Ricky was very professional, dependable, and punctual. Prices were extremely fair and he did an amazing job! Highly recommend!

I've called on Ricardo at Dependable Fix a number of times, for everything from my refrigerator, to my gas stove, to my ice maker, to my washer & dryer. Every single time, with minimum wait time, Ricardo has gone out of his way to educate me on the problem, what the likely cause was, and how to prevent the problem or maintain the appliance if such problems were to occur again. As a medical professional, I deeply appreciate a skilled technician who's also a strong educator, and Ricardo fits that to a tee. read more

Ricky is a problem solver. We feared the worst but he came in and quickly diagnosed the issue with our freezer and saved us a lot of money. He had to order the part, pick it up 45 mins away, and came back later that evening on a Friday night to install it (and during a Dodgers playoff game!) Will absolutely be calling him again on the next thing that breaks. read more

Ricky is knowledgeable and gets the job done. He's also personable, polite, and takes pride in the work he does. We had a situation with our clothes washer, it would make loud rattling sounds and move excessively during the spin cycle. He had an idea of what the problem was, once confirmed (he showed me the broken bolt), he made a run to the store to get the part and returned later on in the day to complete the job. He worked with my schedule and didn't hesitate to unstack the washer/dryer unit. I will definitely be using his service in the future! read more

We recently moved in to a home in Yorba Linda and needed a repair on a Samsung refrigerator. Rick was recommended by neighbors on Yorba Linda Buzz. Wow!! Our built in Refrigerator broke down and Dependable fix Appliance "Rick" came to our rescue. Diagnosed the problem and had fixed it within 30min. No games!! Honest and professional and the best part he's from our city. I love supporting local businesses so this was a plus. He was able to squeeze us in last minute. The service fee and prices are reasonable and service fee is applied towards all repairs. He clearly explained what the problem was and how to fix it. The next day, I had questions and he followed up immediately and continued the check back to make sure everything was good. If you want an honest repair company, Rick is your guy. Rick was such a pleasure to work with. He came recommended from a plumber who I had scheduling conflicts with. To me, when a trade person recommends another, that's A+ right there. It's game recognizing game, it's the professional trust of saying I vouch for his work. Anyways, he was able to quickly and efficiently get my dishwasher installed and removed my old one. He was genuinely kind and patient. I don't know anything about how installation works, but he kindly explained in great layman's terms everything he did- in a very no mansplaining way. When he was ready to go, I thought there was a leak (there was not) and I really valued how he took the time to alleviate my concern and not make me feel like I was just overthinking it. I hope I never need his services again (because that means something is wrong)... but if I do, I will definitely be calling him again without a doubt! read more

I called a few places. They either would not fix microwave or want $135 just to give me an estimate even though I explained that it is the door sensor and I sent them a bunch of pictures. Daylight robbery. They would not even let me know the hourly rate of the labor. That did not sit well with me. I decided to get a new one. But price has gone up $200. I called Dependable Fix Appliance. Ricardo is a honest young man. Very kind and pleasant. He came the next day. In and out in less than 30 mins. $95. The door sensor was loose. I was so happy. I will definitely call him in future for ALL my appliance before replacing it. I gave his cards to my neighbors and friends. I highly recommend him to everyone. read more

My old Duet decided to start crapping out on me so I scrounged around trying to find a reliable and decently reviewed appliance repair tech. I sent out the classic yelp project distress call, and found Dependable Fix. They were quick to respond, and best of all-- they were local. I set up an appointment with Ricardo for the following weekday. He was punctual, and got to work on the machine in no time. After a short bit, we find out that it would cost more to fix the washer than what is currently worth (for how old the machine already is). I appreciate the honesty with this tech. Even though we were not able to 100% get my washer back up, 5/5 starts for this shop due to their honesty, punctuality, and general friendliness throughout the entire time. Thanks!! read more

Five + stars for excellent service. This repairman's info was shared a couple of times in a local FB group. I had a front load washing machine with a broken door strike. I called Ricardo and we set up an appointment for the following Monday. He sent a text message with his ETA and was prompt. The part needed to be ordered. He was actually available the next day to repair the machine but I was not. He arrived this morning and the repair was done in less than 10 minutes! Professional, excellent communication, reliable and honest. Highly recommended! read more

I needed to repair my oven door and called this morning for a quote. The person that I spoke with, Rick, was very responsive and gave me a quote within minutes. He came by this afternoon to repair my oven door and found that there are additional work required because there was more damage than he had anticipated. But Rick was able to repair it within 20 minutes. From the way he worked, he definitely seems like an expert in his field. Rick has told me that he has 15 years of experience. After the repair was completed, Rick tested the oven door multiple times to make sure that it works well, and that I wouldn't have any issues with it in the future. I then asked Rick if he can help me install the oven racks because I honestly don't know how it worked. He happily helped me, which I really appreciate because that's not something that he needed to do. He was just doing extra work to help me out. When it came time to pay, Rick provided me with the original quote, even though the job required additional work and he did extra work for me. I really appreciate that, and tipped him accordingly. During this whole process, Rick kept it real with me in terms of cost, repairs needed, my options, etc, which I really appreciate. I've worked with other repairmen before, and sometimes they may withhold information (like simple quick fixes or other options), so that you would end up spending more money for their service. But with Rick, although I've only used him once, I feel that I can trust him like a homie and that he's got my back. So I will definitely going back to him if I ever need any repairs in the future. He's my repair guy going forward! Thanks for all your help today Rick, appreciate doing business with ya! read more

Once here, he was quickly able to figure out what was going on and made the repair. Didn't take very long and left it better than he found it! Dryer sound brand new!!! Would definately use again!!! I needed some work on my washer and dryer and was lucky to have found Ricky Duarte. I was highly impressed by his honesty. He could have suggested a repair on both the washer and dryer, but instead showed me a simple fix I could do myself. You don't find that kind of honesty too often it seems. He ordered a part for the dryer that was needed, and kept me informed on the delivery date. He always answered my text messages and showed up on time, even giving me an ETA.
