This review is for one particular situation that took WAY too long to resolve. My aunt is living in memory care and was sharing rooms with her sister, my mother, until my mother passed away. My got a new roommate and they did not get along. A single room became available and our family decided to move our aunt. Clearwater was told on a Friday at noon we would move our aunt on Tuesday. When we arrived Tuesday morning to move our aunt, there were no rooms keys for her room. Staff said they would work on getting keys made. Despite checking several times throughout the day for keys, no keys were available. This meant my aunt had to find leave her room unlocked when leaving her room and go find staff to lock her room. I contacted Clearwater the next day, Wednesday, and still no keys had been made. One excuse is that the person who makes/has access to keys was on vacation. (No one person should be in control of all room keys in a senior assisted living and memory care facility.) I went out of town for a couple of days. When I went by Saturday morning, 4 days after my aunt moved to her new room, no keys had been made. When I spoke with staff, I reiterated it was unacceptable. I also told them I would be writing a review and contacting their corporate office. Within an hour, keys were made and the problem was rectified. Clearwater was given four days notice my aunt was moving to a room that had been unoccupied for several days or more. Even after moving, it took four days and my stating I was going to contact their corporate offices to get keys made for her room. Unacceptable. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at how much my mom and our family enjoyed Clearwater. My sisters and I wanted what was best for my mom and to be honest Clearwater Glendora was not my first choice. It was my mother's though, and this is the facility that was chosen. We found that the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and the cleanliness of the facility is impeccable. My mom quickly made friends and enjoyed the environment that featured many thoughtful amenities, activities and day trips should the residents want to avail themselves to same. The reason this facility was not my first choice was twofold. First, I wanted my mom to go to a faith based facility that our family had familiarity. As it turns out Clearwater has made arrangements with several different religious faiths for either onsite visits and/or transportation to services. The second reason was that I felt the facility was "too corporate" when we were interviewing different centers. I didn't feel this was after my mom moved into the facility and in retrospect, I now view it as a positive. It's such a dynamic environment and the needs of each resident differ greater plus we all have to navigate both the healthcare environment including insurances plus operating in a challenging environment such as CA. There's piece of mind that they likely have a policy to address different situations that invariably arise. Mom was right on this one. read more

My husband and I toured Clearwater with Malina with hopes of moving my uncle down south to live there. When he finally decided to move, we immediately reached back out to Malina and she worked so quickly to make sure he would be moved in within four days. We had all paperwork ready and signed and deposits taken care of, and were able to move in the day we asked for. Everything was very efficient. My uncle spent his last 30 days of his life in this facility, and it was amazing for him. We are thankful for Anthony, the concierge, who always greeted everybody by their first names, and even knew my uncle, who was not well enough to come downstairs. Shane was always available for my uncle, and went above and beyond to make sure he had meals around the clock, that his laundry was taken care of, trash was removed, sheets changed, everything. Kim, the med tech, genuinely cared for him and his well being as well. Alyssa was also so good to my uncle and entertained his humor and would let him talk with her. My uncle loved the food, loved the staff, and even started to feel at home, even in the short 30 days there. I wish he could've lived there when he was well. He would have loved the residents and the activities. I will miss seeing these people now that my uncle is gone. So grateful for this facility!!! read more

We were searching for a place to move my mom after she finishes her stint in a rehab facility. Malina was our main point of contact to explain the numerous questions we had. She is an absolute life saver, taking time to explain everything and help us understand what is coming our way soon. Our questions were numerous and she never flinched, answering emails and phone calls quickly with thorough and thoughtful answers. We are looking forward to having my mom closer to us and in what appears to be a great assisted living facility! read more

We were looking for an assisted living place for my mother and I started looking into this place. I made an appointment with Malina Walter, Sales Director last Tuesday. As I entered the facility I was immediately impressed at how beautiful and clean it is inside. The hallways are decorated with beautiful artwork. It was like a hotel, checked with front desk staff who's very polite and helpful. Malina gave me a tour of the facility. She's very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything I needed to know and answered all my questions. Malina also showed me the gym, arts and crafts room, game room, music room, beauty parlor, bar, dining area (restaurant style), wine cave room and so much more. They have several beautiful outside patios where residents can sit and relax. They also accept dogs. I met Jonna, Director of Health Services briefly and she's very friendly and her daughter Chanel. I left that day feeling like this is answered prayers for our mother. This is the place we've been looking for! Last Saturday I took my husband, mom and sister to see the place . Malina spoke to my mother with such kindness and tenderness. My family was impressed with this place. We were served lunch after our tour and the staff at the restaurant were all polite and professional. We met Ovi, the chef who's also so kind and friendly. He was talking about planning different menus for different occasions. Ovi also said that he likes listening to the residents as to what food they might like and do his best to provide them. The food was delicious!! I forgot to mention that they also have shuttle service who will take residents to doctor's appointments and excursions. On Tues during my first visit I met Ralph, shuttle driver and they just came from Trader Joe's trip. He was delivering the groceries to the residents with a great big smile. You can tell he loves being there. We met one resident, his name escapes me but he summed it up by saying "living here is like being in a cruise on land" and I believe it!! We will be moving my mom here at the beginning of February. Malina has all the resources and knowledge if you need anything. She already has recommendations for new primary doctor and dentist since mom is moving from 50 miles away. I understand people have different experiences and expectations. If I went by the 2 reviews I'm seeing on this Yelp page, I wouldn't have checked out this place . I'm glad I saw for myself and I think this place is wonderful and I feel very safe having my mother stay here. We're all looking forward to visiting my mom at this new facility. read more

This is one of the best assisted living communities in the area. Being a professional eldercare placement agent, Clearwater is one of my communities of choice. I have placed 5 residents here and all were very happy with the care and ammedities. Further, the pricing is less then many of the competitive communities in the San Gabriel Valley. Front desk workers are cold and rude. Tried to ask questions and the guy upfront just stared at me. Received no help

BEWARE. Don't move any of your love ones in Clearwater memory care. The director Andy is the worst. She has no sense of knowledge regarding people with Parkinsons, Alzheimer's, Dementia or any health related. The place is very poorly run. There are 2 nurses taking care of 30 patients and 1 med tech who is also helping. Nurses are screaming their lungs out "go back to your room". This is memory care. A little advice walked over to them and redirect them to their room. The staff is lazy. They picked up the trash and never bother to replace the trash bag and to top it off when picking up trash they are on their phones. Laundry is picked up but never put back in hangers or folded. Always missing clothes and socks. Is the laundry washed all together with other residents? Now to the meal. I came a couple of times in the afternoon. Not even 5pm yet and my grandmother has already ate her dinner and is in bed sleeping. Are there not any activities beside sleeping? I come around 10am my grandmother is in bed sleeping. I come after her lunch and she's in bed sleeping. Do they have any activities to keep stimulation in the residents beside sleeping. Lastly this place might looked nice on the outside but the inside all the staffs is rude. read more
