It is difficult when someone you love is hindered by Alzheimer's and Parkinson's and chaos's ensues because you don't know where to go or how to handle, but I'll say Silverado has the knowledge and experience to put us all at ease. Liz and Veronica are more than lifesavers in this sea of confusion regarding memory loss. I am blessed daily knowing they care for my mother in law. Only 5 stars because that is the top otherwise it would be 10! I'd be remiss if I did not give a shout to the other staff members Dorothy, arianna and elyssa. Not least our night nurse Glinny who is fabulous. With all this care you can't afford not to be in the best hands if this is where you find yourself in life now!!

This review is for one particular situation that took WAY too long to resolve. My aunt is living in…read morememory care and was sharing rooms with her sister, my mother, until my mother passed away. My got a new roommate and they did not get along. A single room became available and our family decided to move our aunt. Clearwater was told on a Friday at noon we would move our aunt on Tuesday. When we arrived Tuesday morning to move our aunt, there were no rooms keys for her room. Staff said they would work on getting keys made. Despite checking several times throughout the day for keys, no keys were available. This meant my aunt had to find leave her room unlocked when leaving her room and go find staff to lock her room. I contacted Clearwater the next day, Wednesday, and still no keys had been made. One excuse is that the person who makes/has access to keys was on vacation. (No one person should be in control of all room keys in a senior assisted living and memory care facility.) I went out of town for a couple of days. When I went by Saturday morning, 4 days after my aunt moved to her new room, no keys had been made. When I spoke with staff, I reiterated it was unacceptable. I also told them I would be writing a review and contacting their corporate office. Within an hour, keys were made and the problem was rectified. Clearwater was given four days notice my aunt was moving to a room that had been unoccupied for several days or more. Even after moving, it took four days and my stating I was going to contact their corporate offices to get keys made for her room. Unacceptable.

My mother, who had severe dementia, spent the last five months of her life at the Grove at Covina,…read morewhere Lisa, Summer, and Jamie went above and beyond my expectations to give her the best care possible. Mom really came out of her shell and never stopped smiling and cracking jokes as they loved, pampered, and went out of their way to make sure they understood just what Mom needed when she could not communicate clearly. Lisa is very protective and makes sure that all her residents feel safe and loved, which is crucial in order for people with dementia to live their fullest life. I am forever grateful to have found the Grove at Covina, and for the joyful times Mom experienced there, including her 91st birthday, just days before she went to heaven.

While at dinner she expressed the experience she had had the two nights she was there. As my folks am I returned her to the house after dinner the owners daughter Summer raised her voice at us calling my grandmother all sorts of ungodly words such as 'evil' the daughter proceeded to raise her voice at us telling us that my grandmother was "unwanted" and that "she was not welcome here". All said in-front of her mother Lisa, who owns the business. Lisas response was just short of a shrug saying, "we're and family business". The owner was apologetic for her daughter Summers lack of professionalism. We were beyond baffled and dumbfounded by the interaction. I packed my grandmothers belongings as quickly as I could and we moved her out of the house immediately. If Summer spoke to use like that I am sickened to my stomach thinking of how she must have treated my sick grandmother while no one was around. Do not pay for the "room with attached bathroom". My family paid for the bedroom with the private bathroom. Come to find out the bathroom had two doors, one that led to the hallway and one to her room. The restroom was locked from the hallway side so she couldn't access it from her room. Besides the private bathroom being any but private it wasn't ADA compliant and she could not get her walker through the doorway. Since my grandmother did not have access to the attached restroom we were paying for, the owners thought putting a bedside commode would suffice. This house is every families worst nightmare when it comes to their elderly loved one.

That said if the facility cannot keep up with those basic items of maintenance, how would you expect them to care for someone whom you Love and hold near and dear to your heart. Upon review I've come to know that this place provides sincere care and what that means is the "certified nurse assistants" whom hustle and bustle up and down those halls to answer call lights, feed, change, read to their patients and so much more is what makes this facility worth writing about. It's not the registered nurses, or the dietician's or the LVN's those people you'll find sitting behind a desk somewhere hiding out I can only imagine because their lazy.
