Yesterday, April 11th, I met one of the kindest ladies I have had the privilege of now calling my own Audiologist. The background is that I was sent to Clear Choice Hearing Clinic where I met Nina. I was sent to this audiologist because I was sold a pair of hearing aids by Hear.com and I picked them up at Clear Choice Hearing. Before I was given the hearing aids Nina put me thru several hearing tests to be certain to adjust the new hearing aids based on my left and right ear hearing ability. Nina put me thru several tests, many that I have not gone thru by other Audiologists, and determined that I had more of a hearing problem with my right ear than my left. After the tests were concluded Nina programmed my new hearing aids and after sometime placed them into my ears. The new hearing aids were very nice and very comfortable. That is because she found the perfect sized ear domes that worked with my right and left ears. Nina took a good amount of time with me which I appreciated because in other instances Audiologists rushed thru my appointments. After wearing the new hearing aids I discovered that they were not any better than the ones I have been wearing so I decided to return them to the seller for a full refund. Now to the real crux of my story. When I was with Nina yesterday I told her how I had lost an ear dome about a year ago and that I had to find an Audiologist that could remove the dome from my ear. I was traveling at that time so I needed to get someone that would extract the hearing aid dome from my right ear. We'll, lo and behold last night I somehow managed to pull too hard when trying to remove the right hearing aid and that caused the dome to remain in my ear after I removed the hearing aid. So, long story short I called Clear Hearing Choice and asked if I could drop by and see if the missing dome could be located and removed from the same right ear that had the same issue when I was traveling. I was told to come in right away so they could see where the hearing aid dome was so I hopped into my car and drove there. Nina and her lovely assistant were able to locate the ear dome very quickly and after a little tugging managed to extricate the ear bus and once again I was able to hear out of my right ear.
Now, although I decided to send the new hearing aids back to the seller I asked Nina if I could become one of her patients because i was so appreciative of the time she gave me and how quickly she was able to see me to remove the ear dome from my ear and save me a trip to Urgent care. Nina welcome me with open arms and even though I had to send the new hearing aids back I thanked my contact, Lara, at Hear.com for referring me to Clear Choice Hearing Clinic and giving me the opportunity to meet one amazing Audiologist.
