Terrible bedside manner, did not feel she was the best Dr for my needs, she just talked about the same thing when I went and felt rushed.

Dr. Levyim is the Sherlock Holmes of Neurologists. After a series of misdiagnosis after misdiagnosis by doctors at major hospitals (including UCLA and Children's Hospital), we took our child to Dr. Levyim and she literally saved her life. When something doesn't make sense, Dr Levyim just can't let it go. Twice, Dr. Levyim referred us to other specialists who gave our child a clean bill of health and twice Dr. Levyim told us "something just isn't right." On the third try Dr. Levyim referred us to a specialist who found an easily corrected fatal birth defect in less than 10 minutes. Why, because this 100% lethal birth defect is this doctor's specialty. So while we owe our daughter's life to the specialist, we owe our daughter's life a 100 times more to Dr. Levyim... because, if it wasn't for her, we would have convinced ourselves all the other doctors were right and we were being paranoid. If it wasn't for Dr. Levyim we never would have been referred to subspecialist after subspecialist until we found the one familiar with our daughter's congenital condition. And, if it wasn't not for Dr. Levyim, our daughters would have died in her 20's... she can now expect to live a normal lifespan. THANK YOU Dr. Levyim!!! read more

I have been so thankful for the care Dr Levyim has provided to our family! My daughter has unique needs and in every step, with every diagnosis, Dr Levyim has been so kind and considerate in the ways she speaks and approaches these conversations. The office staff has been, at times, challenging to work with. I have asked for different medical records, and appointment information and my requests are sometimes responded to with frustration and anger. Over all, I am thankful we found this office. I do hope the attitudes when we step into that space change because it is a challenging space to be in already. read more

If you're looking for an expert in the field of neurology, look no further. Doctor Levyim is the holy grail of doctors and she knows exactly what she's talking about. If you're looking for a doctor who will panic with you, she's not the one. In fact, doctor Levyim exhibits a very calm and collected attitude and looks studies each case from many different angles to ensure the best and most tailored care for the patient. I was having horrible headaches for months and doctor Levyim was able to diagnose and treat them to the point that I'm now "cured". It's also worth nothing that doctor Levyim cares about not just neurological symptoms, but she considers your health in general, which is great. Do not recommend. I came into the office with symptoms of severe brain fog, headaches and sharp pains during plane rides. After listening to them, she said "to find YouTube videos and stretch my occipital lobe". I had to ask her if I could get an MRI and she responded saying I'm probably fine but if it'll give me peace of mind to do imaging then I'll write you a referral. Sounded kind of condescending. The MRI found something. My other doctor said my sinus is completely blocked and a severe fungal infection was at work. The radiologist report that she had access to even said "There is complete opacification of the left maxillary sinus consistent with severe left chronic maxillary sinusitis". Dr. Leviym called to schedule a follow up and proceeded to say everything is fine and go ahead with stretches. She wasn't even going to mention the sinus infection because she said 85% of patients have it so it not something to mention. I had to ask her for an ENT referral and I asked if a referral would make things quicker and she replied "the same way no one can force me to see anyone I can't force them". Soon after she ended the call without asking if I had any questions or if there was anything else. If it wasn't for my other doctor I would've had this problem for many more months. My ENT and other doctor were convinced she didn't even look at my scans after ordering them because the blockage in sinus was massive. Now, I am getting a short surgery which I needed and it's very likely it's going to fix all symptoms I mentioned earlier which I was extremely relieved about. With just doctor Leviym I never would've made it this far. I do not recommend her at all. Bottom line is she did not care to get to the bottom of my issue. read more

You know how the American Health system is just like completely broken & set up to literally suck your money, take forever & not give you any answers? Some of it's the system, some of it is Doctor's trainings, some of its straight-up Doctors. Dr. Levyim is the diamond in the rough. What usually takes someone 3-5 years to get a diagnosis, she helped me uncover in 3 months of working with her. She listens, cares, & goes out of her way to help you, literally because she sees you as an actual human being. She brings her breadth of experience & knowledge instead of a stippled viewpoint on 1 area of study, directly to human experience. She's keen on continuous learnings, & stays on top of research & clinical trials to try & bring you the best treatment plan possible. She'll listen to allll of your symptoms & try & address as many as possible without bringing new side effects. It's honestly so rare to find a doctor that will listen to all of your strange experiences & symptoms, take them at face value & really care to give you answers. But she'll listen to the symptoms that seem unrelated, because they could mean something. I've seen many neurologists, but I could not recommend a better one. I start with the first impression that happens when you walk in the dr's office. The staff At this office is very friendly and helpful. And waiting time was very short, less than 5 minutes. Dr Desiree Levyim is very caring, knowledgeable and very patient. She listens and spends time for diagnosing the issues. It was my first visit to her office and the experience was outstanding. She was not rushing the visit, answered all my questions and explained every thing thoroughly. Dr Levyim exceeded my expectations on every aspect. If I could I would give her ten stars. read more

Upon reading the glorified reviews, I thought I may have found the right place. Not so. In fact, my experience was so bad that I would encourage others to look elsewhere if quality care is what you are seeking. (Note: if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is). Ashley at the front desk runs hot and cold. My first interaction with her was good. She was nice and friendly. My subsequent interaction was horrible. She was short and rude for no discernible reason. I suppose it is the luck of the draw as to her mood, but who needs the inconsistency and disrespect. As far as the doctor was concerned, I, too, initially felt she was sensitive to my condition. A specialized procedure was scheduled and then nothing. I heard absolutely nothing for two full weeks, which at the end of the year, and one's desire to do procedures while deductibles are paid, is unacceptable. When I called back the office to find out what was going on, I was told the request for the procedure was sent, and yet, a second request was also sent. The problem was that the office staff sent the request to the wrong number so nothing was done and valuable time was lost. The end result is that the procedure cannot be performed as intended and requested. The doctor says that she cares about her patients, but her actions and lack of follow through say otherwise. Also, upon further inquiry, I was told that their office is "a high volume" office, which, had I known that piece of information, I would never have chosen the office. In my opinion, if you want quality care (to the extent that it exists), I would suggest looking elsewhere. There was zero follow through with prescribed care and any feedback to the doctor that was honest, but not favorable, was met with defensiveness and deflection. There is better care available and I would definitely seek it. read more
