Prior to Clear I ran a DSL and the speeds are comparable, which isn't to say they're all that great.

Whatever estimate they give you for your wait time, double it, at least. Fifteen minute wait turned into 30 real quick. My visit here did nothing but solidify my decision to end my relationship with Comcast. The only reason I can tell they make you wait to return equipment so that they can try and talk you out of returning equipment/quitting service with them there was no reason that I needed to wait 30 minutes for a transaction that took 60 seconds. Total garbage company

Absolutely terrible experiences here, most recently a few days ago. First of all they have a…read morecompletely inept waiting system so plan to be there at least an hour to do anything. After you waste an hour you will get an employee who can't help you. Then you will be directed to one of their kiosks that invariably has a tech issue. Not kidding every single time I have had to use the kiosks there is an issue. I have recurring billing issues due to them not removing cable from my bill so I have to make multiple phone calls and show up in person to get any resolution as they are quick to shut my internet off when their bills are mistake riddled and I am in the process of pleading my case again. This last time the guy informed me I have a $60 credit due to over paid bills which felt low but was something. He said my next bill would be in March and I am all good. I get an email today that my service was cut off and since I was at work I couldn't drive over there. Now I am on hold and you guys did it, I am finally cancelling. The amount of time I have wasted with this ridiculous company should be a crime, I deserve restitution.

Living in the country is wonderful for many reasons, but one downside is that you most likely only…read morehave 2 choices for getting online; wireless and satellite. I've always been told by my very smart tech oriented friends that wireless is the better and more reliable choice. I'd kill for a fast internet connection delivered by a wire to my home, but in my area of the boonies, we have just a few choices in wireless internet service providers. A big company (Rise Broadband) and a small one (Open Air Wireless). I have used them both. Open Air is the better choice for one reason alone; top notch service. There will always be speed and signal problems with wireless internet because there are so many points where failures can occur. And the speed you've been promised WILL vary because there is just so much signal to be doled out to everyone along the way...you're going to get slower speeds at certain times when everyone is using their signal at the same time or playing online video games that use tons of band width. That's the nature of the beast. At some point you will need service either at your home or along the chain of towers that deliver the wireless signal to your home. When your signal gets slow or goes dead, you have to make the call to tech who will start to work out where the problem is. I have found that with Rise Broadband, the company is huge and there are various levels of tech support. Don't get me wrong, the folks at Rise tech support are wonderful, but if they can't fix the problem with a "reset" on their end, they can't just send someone out to fix you. They have to "elevate the case to the next level". It's nothing to them if you're completely out of a signal for a week or two. Meanwhile, I have to turn my phone into a hotspot and pay for precious cell data while they take their time going through the proper channels. This is not the case with Open Air Wireless. When you call in with a problem with your signal, you're most likely going to get Matt, the owner of the company who turns you into a top priority. He tells me when he will be able to respond and I have to give him (and his wife who works at the office when he is unable to directly respond) an A+ for courtesy and responsiveness. I can't expect them to stop what they're doing but they are very aware that it's a big deal and they will get to you quickly. It wasn't too long ago that my only choice out here in the country was dial-up. I'm very grateful that I have choices now and Open Air is my top pick.

I created an account just to write this review, and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. The owner Matt is rude to anyone who doesn't agree with him, and the internet overall is just flat out mediocre.

Even though I pointed out that my neighbor was paying half what they were charging me (also Astound, same speed) and xfinity would charge me 1/3. "We may charge different customers different amounts." "We don't price match." I didn't want to switch, and it was utterly frustrating that they would do this to a long term customer. It was like I had a note in my file, 'stick it to this guy.' Or maybe they just stick it to everyone dumb enough to stay with them. Of course when I called to cancel they said, "Can we offer you a better price?" Makes my blood boil.

It is now slower than it ever has been, freezes up all the time. Can't even sit through a 22 minute TV show without lagging or stopping. This is pathetic and unacceptable in the year 2026. If you can, look elsewhere and use anyone else but Astound! We sent them another email and phone call to get ahold of someone to come back to our house to fix yet another problem they made happen. So far, no such luck. They're value is nothing and they are most incompetent. So again they may seem good, but they're awful. They don't have any places located near us and have to come from far away, so I imagine their tech guys are very limited to when they can come. Another example of why big companies shouldn't be able to buy up the little ones like WOW, which was actually a good cable company that we had no problems at all with. Like every other company, there customer service seems to be a thing of the past. We will be switching to a different company as soon as possible and never looking back. Fuck Astound.
