For example, insulation in the wall area was minimal and appeared insufficient, and there was an attempt to use inappropriate materials (rags) in place of proper insulation. I had to supply insulation myself which he said was much better than what he had. Also he wanted to leave the rags in there cause it would be more insulation! The technician also mentioned he had worked until 3 AM and didn't really want to be working that day, which was not reassuring. Also an outside hose bib was left uncaulked. I followed up with the owner to share these concerns and never received a response, despite a second attempt to check in. In the end, I caulked the hose bib myself. Over the course of the day I talked to several plumbers in this area, taken 2 other estimates and had gained a little knowledge about the world of hot water heaters. I am a senior female, most of the plumbers appeared not to care for my questions about the service I was going to pay them to do. Mr Jarvis was friendly, patiently and thoroughly answered each question, provided information about the water heated he recommended and the warranty, and gave me a couple of options. His estimate was excellent. He was at my home 8:30 am the next morning. My new water heater was installed by noon and the old broken one was taken away. He left the premises cleaner than he found them! My water has been HOT ever since! Very happy with DSJ Plumbers! Highly recommend!
