All Star Plumbing was sent by the warranty company to replace my hot water heater. The plumber was good, but the company charged $1,163 to replace my Water Pressure Reducing Valve. I have a Cinch Home Warranty and they are the company that was selected for the service. I paid $150 for the initial service call. They recommended that the unit be replaced. Cinch initially offer $1000 toward the replacement. Because I had additional coverage, I got $2000 from them. I guess this was not enough and these guys left me high and dry. They never provided and estimate of costs nor did they offer the opportunity to do business with them. They just abandoned and ghosted me. I guess my business wasn't worth its to them. My home warranty company assigned them to me due to a claim I submitted for flooding in my basement. I highly recommend All-Star Plumbing LLC!  Not only did they call me within 24 hours of submitting the claim to set an appointment, but they called me 30 mins before the appointment time to let me know that he was on his way.  John (#101) was my plumber, and he was absolutely heaven sent.  He was professional and knowledgeable and answered all of my questions regarding the plumbing in my house.  He replaced my sump pump, found the pipe in the yard that it drained (previous owners buried it), and gave me insight on how water is drained in my house.  He was in and out of my house in time for me to go to work!! read more

I have been waiting to make an appointment with All Star Plumbing LLC; when I called back to make another appt (had to cancel the first one due family emergency)--I was told they needed another work order# from SEARS (warranty dept(?). Naturally, I asked why was that and the woman who answered the phone said "SEARS closed it out." (?!) After checking today (6pm) on the SEARS APP for job status-- the ALL Star job/PO# is still "open"--alive and active-- but..... The woman answering the phone at All Star told me weeks ago that SEARS canceled it(?)...huh...I am REALLY hoping there was just some confusion w/work order numbers... Now, after speaking live with SEARS on the phone (today), they reported the work order # for ALLSTAR is open and available to accept appointments(?) As we were talking about the disconnect with SEARS-- ALL STAR updated their "job status" as "Pending a diagnostic report"? What diagnostic report would they have--considering they have NEVER been to my home, nor do they understand the scope of work?!? Is ALL STAR sending the report, in an effort to get paid and close the PO#/job ticket? Is this for real? Is this what vendors do? Please tell me this is NOT how ALL STAR operates?! I wanted to take a moment to commend All Star Plumbing and the crew consisting of Tony, John and Tyler for fixing the issue with the unsealed sleeve on the main water line. This defect was causing ground water to constantly flow in my utility room. The crew explained the cause and solution for the problem. They jack-hammered the basement floor, fixed everything underground and re-poured concrete. They cleaned up nicely and I'm happy to say my utility room is dry and the sump pump is running less frequently! Thank you for solving my problem as several southern MD plumbers either wouldn't fix it or proposed expensive solutions that didn't make sense! The office staff are awesome too. they were schedule after I went through my HMS home warranty insurance. I had a clogged drain and when they came this was their observation: "Basement floor drain is backing up when it rains or other fixtures are ran in home. Ran all fixtures in 1st floor bathroom for several mins. No stoppages could be found at this time. Recommend a camera inspection for further diagnosis. Will submit to warranty. If not covered by warranty then price for camera inspection is $600. Will need to go from water closet access for sufficient space." -the clogged was never fixed -no diagnosis was submitted to my warranty, I verified by calling my warranty. Of course camera inspection is not covered. -I called and requested my receipt from All Star that they never sent. -I was the one calling my insurance and All Star for 2 weeks. Can't say enough good things about this company. They were assigned to us through our home warranty company to replace a water heater that started leaking in our basement. The home warranty company was horrible, taking almost a month to approve and source the water heater, but All Star lived up to their name -- and delivered fantastic service. They helped us deal with the warranty company throughout a long a frustrating process. Tara and Shaina, the two customer service reps, were endlessly friendly and helpful -- despite all of the delays the warranty company threw our way. When the unit was finally ordered, All Star jumped into action, and scheduled our appointment quickly. They arrived right when they said they would and did a great a job getting it installed. Zero-rating: All-star plumbing has a horrible service! The technician came out to my house and drained my hot water heater and did not tell me that the hot water would be off until the unit was going to be replaced in a week. I called and the female told me that if the technician returns to cut it on that I would need to pay despite the fact that it was there fault it was cut off initially. I then asked to speak with a manager, and she told me the manager would not be in until later and she would have her call me. The manager, Tara never called me back so I called and she was not helpful at all. She shared that her technicians should have not cut off the water without my knowledge and she has spoken to them about their communication. They do not have good customer service so I would not recommend them at all! RUN as fast as you can to a better plumbing company. read more

The worst service eve. I paid for a service call to evaluate a leak. The guy said the only way to diagnose was to bust a hole in the wall. He said there was no other way. These guys are great- honest, professional, and extremely helpful. John and Tyler went above and beyond to help us out with our repairs for a shower stall (no water coming out from the "hot" valve) and a toilet that didn't flush well and was slow to fill back up with water. I was lucky enough to be connected with All Star through our home warranty company after previous home visits and estimates from two other plumbing companies the warranty company sent to us. Plumbing Companies #1 and #2 quoted us between $600-$700 in various repairs that were "necessary but not covered by the warranty." Fortunately for me, I didn't go with the "Company #1" right away (he quoted $600, said I needed a new diverter, some other things, and would have to create an access panel by going through the wall in the guest room). Because the cost seemed high and they had terrible reviews online, I had the warranty company send someone else for a second opinion. However, the guy from "Company #2" was so unpleasant, pushy and so obviously dishonest (quoted $700 for different types of cartridges, an anti-scald part I "had to have" and also wanted to create an access panel by cutting a hole in the guest room wall) I couldn't go with them either. I let the home warranty company know and they actually let me see a third plumbing company. The All Start guys came within the time frame given, the dispatcher even called ahead to let me know they were on the way, and when they arrived they used booties on their shoes which is much appreciated in a house with wood floors and a baby. Amazingly, John from All Star was able to diagnose and fix the shower stall issues within the hour- it wasn't a broken valve or diverter or anything like that- it was the hard water deposit having completely sealed off the water supply and cutting off the hot water. He used a chisel and chipped away at the deposit and we suddenly went from nothing at all, to full water pressure on the hot water side of the shower. That's literally all it was. No tearing apart the tiles, no cutting a hole in the guest room wall for an access panel, no $700 in repairs; they also fixed our toilet with ease. Before leaving they asked if there was anything else in the house we wanted them to take a look at while they were there- they were helpful and hard-working even though we were their last call and it was late in the day. You can tell they pride themselves on customer service and reputation. It was worth the hassle of having to go through the first two terrible plumbing companies (maybe just inexperienced/lazy, or at the worst, dishonest) over the previous few months to find an honest and professional company like All Star. Hopefully someone else can learn from this experience of me collecting plumbing opinions from 3 different companies and save themselves the headache by giving All Star a call. read more

BEWARE!! This nightmare of a company came to my house on 2 consecutive days to fix a leak. I paid them the 1st day, even though the plumbers didn't have a snake to unclog the line. (What kind of plumbers don't carry a snake to a home with a leak.) The next day a different plumber came to snake the washing machine line and said everything was all fixed. Whew was he wrong!! Later, I washed a load of clothes and heard water spewing on the floor below. I called the company and they wanted to send the same plumber back out. After I told them I wanted a different plumber, the receptionist started yelling. I asked to speak to the owner and requested him to call me. He never called! Stunning!! I was assigned All Star Plumbing by my warranty company HMS. They scheduled a job and said they would call 30 minutes before they arrived. The day of the job, Delaney from the office called to say that they were 10 minutes out as plumbers Joe and Kenney were knocking on my door. Anyone who has young children in the the times of coronavirus knows this is unprofessional and unsafe. There was a list of items that need to be repaired. I showed Kenney two items that needed to be repaired to get him started. He demanded to see all bathrooms before commencing repairs, not giving me a chance to get the other bathroom ready etc. He escalated a situation that did not warrant such behavior and walked off the job, much to my surprise. This company and in particular Joe and Kenney are unprofessional and I would not work with them when safety is a top priority for families. read more

We had quoted and hired several plumbers of our own in Montgomery County to fix consistently low water pressure in our upstairs bathrooms, and were underwhelmed across the board. Some firms grossly overquoted the work, and others came and could not correct the issue. All Star came referred via our home warranty company, and ended up fixing the issue very easily by flushing excess sediment out of the pipes. Called by my home warranty to come and diagnose a water leak in my ceiling. They fixed the obvious leaking pipe, but when i showed them my bathtub as a possible source too, they said 'see the caulk? it's perfectly fine'. So I spent $1000 fixing the drywall and repainting the ceiling... only to have more water leak the next time we took a bath. THEN they came back and had the audacity to force me to pay another $100 deductible to my home warranty company to fix the 1 gasket in the bathtub that, you guessed it, had corroded and disappeared. And, of course, no consideration for the money I spent redoing the ceiling. "We are not liable for that". AND IF THAT WEREN'T ENOUGH -- the toilet flusher that they fixed that same time, broke in half the very next morning. Very disappointed. Actually disappointed enough that I'm writing this review. My guess is that the home warranty has finally overwhelmed them and they are not hiring good people anymore. Might want to look elsewhere. read more

These guys are great. Our hot water heater started tripping the high temp shutoff switch. We arranged the call though our home warranty. I've had spotty success with warranty subs in the past. With these guys an appt window was set for the next day! We received a call the morning of our appt setting an expectation as to arrival. (Imagine if your cable company did that) The man who showed up was on time, courteous, professional, and answered all of my questions with both brevity and enough detail. I alluded to a desire for increased temp output for warmer water upstairs. He cautioned against that and instead asked to see my upstairs shower. They fix the pipe that the first company didn't fix that was still leaking and they fixed the main water shut off valve that the first company broke.
