I really appreciate the direct accountability and quick resolution. I'm leaving my original review below for transparency, but their prompt response today restored my confidence in their management. I originally had a positive experience with California Solar Electric during my 10.12 kW solar and Powerwall 3 installation last year. Unfortunately, their post-install customer support and business ethics are nonexistent. I referred a friend who completed their installation months ago. I was explicitly promised a $500 referral bonus for this. After months of waiting, I tried following up multiple times privately to give them a chance to make it right, but I am now being completely ignored. It's a shame because I have several neighbors here in Fountain Valley who are currently shopping around for solar and battery storage. I was planning to refer them here, but I cannot recommend a company that fails to honor its own written agreements and ducks communication. Buyer beware: the installation team does good work, but do not trust a word management says about referral incentives or post-sale promises. Still waiting for my $500.

However, upon completeing the job, the project manager Tim Broughton called me, helped me log on to the Enphase app so that I could monitor the panels. After I confirmed that I was logged in, I was told that I was up and running And they were done. I was happy thinking I was now running on the sun. Wrong. So very wrong. I received my electric bill and astonished to see the electric portion was over $800.00. I called the power company and was told that the $130.00 application fee had not been paid. I notified Mr. Broughton and he immediatley saw that the bill for the application fee was paid and apologized for the error. Now the fun begins. I called the power company and asked when they would be out to install the proper meter for solar panels. I was informed that no application for a meter to be installed was on file and that I had to submit an application for interconnection. Hmm? No one mentioned anything to me about completing and application or that I had to contact the power company. I completed the PTO (Permission to Operate) form and based on the questions being asked and the information I needed to provide leads me to believe the Solar company was responsible for completing this form and sending the required fee. Ok. Lets not look to for someone to blame, lets just get the proper meter installed. I completed the PTO and submitted it. The power company came out a couple of weeks later and installed the a new meter. Onlyit was not a meter for solar panels. They installed the same new meter but it was the same meter as the meter I already had. I asked them why they didn't put on a solar meter and I was told that I needed to submit a PTO for a SOLAR METER, which is different. And by the way, they have a special person that installs solar meters and a special person to install regular meters. This seemed rather stupid to me. I ask the power comapany rep for the contact info for the solar department and he told he didn't know. I won't name the power company. LADwp. The one good thing the DWP rep did upon arriving to his office was to send an email to contact the proper department at the power company. I assumed he would have just gone about his business and let me flounder. I started on the second application which asked for job site photos. This was to me another indication that the solar installer was suppose to complete this form because Joe Citizen would not know what photos they were required. I did observe that periodically, the workers would take photos, but none were ever sent to me. Now I'm in the middle of August 2026 with fingers, legs, arms, eyes and anything else, maybe the dogs and cats, crossed hoping that this time I will get a meter. The bottom line is I would still recommend AWS SOLAR to anyone, but I'd have to caution them to make sure they get you connected and ALL fees are paid. Because I was dealing with the City of LA and being constantly sent to voice mail and waiting for call backs, this experience was horrendous.

However,…read moreit's still about 4.8% below the minimum guaranteed production (accounting 0.25% maximum annual panel degradation). It's 4 year in a row now the system failed to produce the minimum guaranteed production. AWS Solar chose to compensate for the shortfall again; we'll see what the 5th year production looks like. I suggested replacing some of the panels with the higher power ones to solve the issue, but I guess they want to see more data.

My skylight had been installed incorrectly by another company, which was contributing to the moisture issue. Since skylight repairs can be a relatively small job, I found that not many reputable companies were interested in doing this type of work. I was very happy to find Sunline Energy. Juan handled the skylight and related roof and flashing repairs, and I can't say enough about the quality of his work. He is a perfectionist and took the time to make sure everything was done correctly. He went above and beyond and fixed both the skylight and surrounding roof area beyond my expectations. Based on my experience and the quality of Juan's work, I would highly recommend Sunline Energy to anyone needing skylight or related roof repairs.

Adding on after Sunline Energy's response: I did not mention the following yet it is important to do so, in 2024 3 roofing companies told me that the roof was past due on repair, I had mentioned what happened with Sunline Energy in 2023 and was told that your company as well as others install on roofs that are not healthy enough and even with replacement of shingles the plywood was not thick enough to support solar panels, in other words, Sunline never mentioned something that was felt just by walking on the roof, ethics should be as important as obtaining a sale because people work hard to keep there home maintained, honesty is the best policy, I understand that the company must achieve sales but situations as so are very disturbing, Sunline Energy continues to owe us $1,000 due to a deposit for a job that never took place.

Since LA Solar Group continues to publicly and falsely accuse me of making "completely unfounded" and "factually false" claims, I am posting the actual email I received for the public to see. At 4:01 a.m. on October 1, 2026, I received a ClickUp email stating: "Ara Petrosyan invited you to join LA Solar Group, LLC - Proposal for Upcoming Project on ClickUp." The invitation identified the workspace as "LA Solar Group, LLC - Proposal for Upcoming Project" and identified the inviter as Ara Petrosyan. Attached is a screenshot of the email I received it at an email address linked to my LinkedIn account. I have never claimed knowledge of who technically generated or transmitted the invitation behind the scenes. I have described what I actually received, what it said, and my experience afterward. Their repeated characterization of my documented experience as "false," "unfounded," and an intentional attempt to "sabotage" their business is highly telling of this company. Their public assertion that they know my subjective intent - despite having no basis to establish my state of mind - reflects a serious disregard for basic legal principles and may expose the company to serious legal consequences for publishing false statements about my motives as though they were established fact. In my opinion, this company's response to criticism has become EXTREMELY AGGRESSIVE and appears focused on discrediting and SILENCING me. I view the continued accusations and communications as increasingly HARASSING. I have contacted counsel, and I will preserve all communications. I am also prepared to contact appropriate authorities. Update: The company's response below speaks for itself. I find its tone defensive, unprofessional, and threatening. After I described my own experience in my first review, the company sent me an unwanted private message through Yelp asking me to remove my review. Then Yelp removed my review. Now that I wrote about my direct experience with them after receiving their private message through Yelp - It has now publicly characterized my statements as "unfounded claims,", and instructed me to "refrain" from making them. I view this pattern of conduct, including the unwanted private Yelp message and the language in the company's public response, as an attempt to pressure and intimidate me into silence. Both of my reviews describe my truthful experiences, observations, opinions, and impressions. My original review clearly stated that the recruiting email came from a third party referencing LA Solar Group and the CEO. I did not state that LA Solar Group itself sent that email. I have already asked LA Solar Group to cease contacting me. I do not consent to further communications regarding my reviews. I stand by my reviews and strongly suggest that the company have its counsel review their actual language before publicly and falsely accusing me of making "unfounded claims." I am preserving all communications and reserve all rights and remedies available to me. I also reserve the right to expand my review to other platforms, including my own blog, particularly in light of the company's accusatory and threatening response and its characterization of my statements in a manner I believe is completely false and misleading. Any further public discussion by me will remain based on my documented experiences, the company's own communications, and my opinions and impressions. As already stated in my response to your unwanted and unsolicited private message, as well as in my review, refrain from contacting me further, whether through private messages, public responses, or any other direct or indirect communication concerning my reviews. If this unwanted contact continues, I will immediately involve counsel, and pursue any other legal remedies available. Original Review: LA Solar Group sent me an unsolicited private message through Yelp asking me to remove my review after I shared my truthful experience regarding an unsolicited recruiting email I received at 4:01 a.m. Yelp then removed my first review on the stated basis that I was not a customer. I believe LA Solar Group contacted Yelp regarding that review. I consider the unsolicited private message through Yelp asking me to remove my review to be unwanted contact and an attempt to pressure me into removing criticism of the company based on my experience. This second review is due to the direct unwanted Yelp communication I personally received from the company. I have asked LA Solar Group to cease contact. I am preserving all communications and reserve the right to involve, appropriate authorities, and pursue any legal remedies available to me if further any unwanted contact occurs.

The salesman, Jeff was extremely helpful and communicative in explaining to me our roofing options (needing replacement due to the prior roof's age) and the solar system we would need to minimize any future payments to PGE as well as obtaining tax credits and rebates. We had a complication in that we were in the process of purchasing the house and the purchase was not set to go final until early-mid December 2025. Also, the holidays. Axiom staff stepped up big time. Even though they had other projects in the works, they squeezed us in. These complications required continuous coordination between Axiom representatives with the prior home owner (who was still occupying the house), and separately me because the prior owner's agent made it clear that the sellers and buyers (me) were not to directly communicate. In other words, Axiom had to work this project with two "owners" of the house, owners that were instructed to not talk to each other. As I was a "newbie" to solar I had lots of questions (and a desire for perfection). Clay and Justin were extremely patient with me every time I emailed, called, texted or visited their shop (to drop off payments) to coordinate the work, and for them to explain exactly what was being installed and all the installation steps that were being taken. I especially want to call out Justin and Sean for making sure we got the system hooked up as quickly as possible to PGE to export energy to the grid. Sean came by twice after the installation was complete, first to ensure PGE would bless the hookup and second to walk me through the system and show me how to work the App. The roof looks great and the system is working great. I strongly recommend these folks for roofing and solar system installations.

I contacted the company that had installed Tesla batteries and additional solar panels in 2023 but received no support, just evasion and obfuscation. If anything, my search became even more difficult because of the midyear revision of the expiration date of the residential federal solar credit from yearend 2034 to yearend 2025. That seemed to intensify installer focus on securing and completing installation of new systems by the 12/31/25 dateline. By September I still had not found anyone to help me, but my luck changed that month. Some weeks before that I had looked at Photon Bros central California website but held off contacting them because a note there stated that they were doing repair work only for current customers. In September I decided to call and ask about them working on my problem in 2026. The person I spoke to took my name and phone number and said he would pass it on to Photon Brothers office in Colorado. In about a day or so I got a call from Service Coordinator Jake Brann and that set things into motion which resulted in power generation being almost entirely restored by early December. Service Tech Ruben Quintero discovered a defective junction box in which connections for a 10 panel array were burned out. He replaced the box and the connections. Ruben also noticed that an optimizer on another panel needed to be replaced. Jake ordered a replacement from SolarEdge. It took a while for that to be shipped but it was installed in early June. Monthly system output exceeds levels from two years ago.
