Chris from CLB Plumbing did a fantastic job in adding a shower kit to my old claw foot tub. When I moved in to this home, I knew I didn't want to get rid of the tub - but, I also knew I could never begin to install a complicated shower kit like this by myself. Chris showed up a little bit early, talked me through the details of my kit installation (needed some adjusting due to the awkward location of my tub), and got right to work. He had a true eye for detail and was incredibly thorough - even cleaned up afterward. Before, my bathroom and tub looked horrible - and now, it's gorgeous! I've attached a picture to show what outstanding work CLB Plumbing can do. The price was more than fair, the customer service was top notch, and he even snaked the tub drain for me! I think this guy is just having friends write reviews for him because my experience was nothing like those listed. I chose him over a big company like Roto Rooter because I thought his prices might be better and I'd get better service. He came on a Friday to tighten up 2 rocking toilets and fix a small leak in our sink. He said he tightened the toilets, only one was actually fixed because after he left we noticed that the other still rocks when sitting on it. Chris informed us that he needed to order a part for the sink that would be in by Monday and he could return and fix it then, estimating the entire job to cost $250 which seems like a lot for tightening toilets (took him 15 minutes) and a leaky sink. But we were still willing to pay it. Monday came around and no calls, no show. I called and left a message with no response. Today is Tuesday and again I left a message with no returned call and he did not show up today. I assume that he has just given up on our job and won't be returning. I'm hoping that he doesn't expect to be paid for tightening up the one toilet and never returning because that's not happening. Do yourself a favor and call someone who shows up. read more

CLB Plumbing replaced two hot water tanks in my Columbus,Oh house on May 27, 2020. On Sunday, August 16, 2020 the discharge tube from our electric tank was leaking. We called the owner and had to leave a msg. As of Tuesday, August 18 we have never heard from the owner. We had to turn off water to house, so we called another plumbing company for emergency service call. It was pointed out that the leak was caused by poor workmanship. Due to the leak it shorted out the elements in hot water tank and now that tank needs replaced.. It cost $1,200 to replace in May. DO NOT USE this plumber! read more

Chris has done work for me in the past but trying to get him to respond to a call or text has always been an issue. I had an issue with my toilet that Chris had tried to repair but it didn't work. After several weeks, he finally answered my call on July 29th. We discussed the problem, he stated that he would be in touch and that was the last time we spoke. The date is now Sept. 2nd. He completely blew me off and I had to pay someone else to fix his mistake. To me, this is totally irresponsible and he is unreliable. I would never recommend Chris Billy. AMAZING! Came home to a broken valve on my hot water tank, Chris tried talking me through repairs over picture texts and on the phone but of course I had more issues and required a brand new valve. Friday night, 9pm, he came over and foxed it so quickly, so professionally and also gave me a heads up on other issues he noticed while checking out my other water stuff downstairs. Chris was awesome! He came out same day for a service call ($75 or waived if you get the job done) to my hot water tank. I explained the issue over the phone and he knew what I was talking about right away. He called me to asked if he could come early, which I was elated about. He looked at it and immediately knew it was giving off an error code. He took the time to do some research, made some calls, found the part, and took the time to explain what was wrong, what it would cost, and what this repair was like in comparison to other things going wrong with the tank. Of all the things to go wrong, this issue was the least costly, but Chris was honest with me, letting me know he couldn't guarantee, with the age of the tank, that something else might not go wrong with it and once it leaks, it has to be replaced. I asked him what he would do and he told me with this, he would do the repair and let it ride, but if it was anything else he'd replace the tank. Having just gotten burned by trying that method with my garage door, I was worried to just repair it and Chris took the time to inspect the tank and give me a honest opinion of it's current state and told me he felt confident in the repair and the tank would likely last a few more years, which was great news. When i asked him to quote me a new one, his quote was $400 less than another company who came out a few months ago for another issue that involved a mouse nest. He got the part overnighted for me so I wouldn't have to go long without hot water and he came over the next day and had it up and running in less than an hour. He even checked out a toilet filler that was acting weird for me and gave me good advice on replacing it with the same thing and not getting a "fancy filler" because they have more problems. Quick response, showed up on time and seemed to do good work. The only reason I had to take a couple of stars off the review was lack of response after the service call. I paid in full at the time of service and was promised a receipt via email. After 3 weeks and no response, I made four requests (via email and voice mail) for the receipt before I gave up. That doesn't leave me very optimistic about any response in case there are issues with the work. Fortunately it was a relatively small job but I'd be pretty hesitant about hiring him for larger work. read more
