Security at Clay Terrace is unprofessional and completely lacking in proper training. Today, a guard approached my barely open car window and threw a ticket inside without saying a word. His hand hit the window, and when I asked what the ticket was for and who I could speak to, he drove off. That's not how enforcement works--that's blatant disrespect and a refusal to be held accountable. The reason? I share a car with someone who works here. That's it. I was there as a customer, shopping in my own free time. The mall has a policy that employees aren't allowed to park in the front, but they've made zero effort to properly assess who is actually in the car or why it's parked there. When I explained I was just shopping, the guard said, "Well, the employee is getting you in trouble." That response is not only dismissive, it highlights how flawed and lazy this enforcement is. The legitimacy of this policy is questionable, especially when it's applied this carelessly. There's no verification, no accountability, just an assumption based on a license plate. These tickets pile up and get sent to CPD, even when the vehicle is being used legally by someone who isn't an employee. This particular guard has been targeting the employee who shares this car for months, issuing tickets regardless of who is behind the wheel. It's personal, and it's distasteful. Let's be honest, he would not have thrown that ticket or driven off if I were older, a man, or someone he felt he had to answer to. It was clearly an abuse of perceived power. Clay Terrace should be held responsible for allowing this kind of behavior. It's unprofessional, unjustified, and a poor reflection on the property as a whole. ** my review was deleted on google reviews within 48mins instead of being reached out to. Speaks on the lack of professionalism **

Great place to walk around and spend some time outside. They have a gym, intimate apparel store, toy store, homewares store etc. Plus a steakhouse and sushi restaurant! There were even more dining options too. They have rental bikes if you want to cruise around! Wish I came when things were open, but if you're looking for a place to do some shopping or even just window shop, it's a great place to get some steps in and enjoy the atmosphere.

Within one complex, you've got the Center for the Performing Arts, Carmel Farmer's Market, Christkindlmarkt (during the holidays), Hotel Carmichael, and a number of other retail options, restaurants, and entertainment options. It's all, quite literally, within walking distance (well, unless you're like me and don't have feet. But, you know what I mean). Because this is a central area, a good number of the Carmel festivals will happen around here. You've also got live music and theater (including Civic Theater also housed within this complex). Accessibility is pretty strong since so much of this area is new. I've had my quibbles with accessibility involving the Center for the Performing Arts, though in talking to current Mayor Sue Finkam there's a definite effort to go beyond ADA and to truly become more accessible. Free parking is abundant in this area and the arts district is about 1/2 mile north. Dining options include Aroma Experience, Divvy, The Old Spaghetti Factory, The Cake Bake Shop, Eggshell Bistro, Lone Pine, Graeter's Ice Cream, and others within walking distance. Retail options include Kits & Kaboodle (a great toy shop), 317Home, A.D.A. Vintage, Addendum, Baseline Social, and a host of others. I will note that most of these shops lean toward the more premium experience. There's definitely no Dollar General to be found here. There's definitely a lot to offer here and it's nearly always crowded. I also like that the website will tell you which stores are closed on bad weather days. As accessibility continues to improve, I may very well move this up to a 5-star experience. For now, it's a definite 4-star experience and it's definitely a place I can easily spend the day once I arrive and also enjoy some time on the Monon.

I also appreciate the gas prices, always the lowest in the area. If you pay with a BJ's credit card you receive an additional ten cents off per gallon. And there are never long lines at the pumps like the ones at Costco. BJ's is very close to my home. I'll keep my memberships as it is worth it for the gas prices and the occasional other items I purchase, but overall I like Costco much better.

I took advantage of the $15/year membership coupon I received in the mail. Like other wholesale stores, BJ's has great prices on bulk items, and the membership has already paid for itself just in the discounts on vitamins, medicines, and other hygiene/wellness products. They have a solid section of seasonal items and clothing, too. Gas prices are great, as well. I like their app and typically save items to a list before going in-store. You do NOT need to show a membership card to enter the store, but you do need one in order to checkout. Which, speaking of--I always use the self-checkout and have never waited in line. Costco definitely has them beat in the food court section, but shopping at BJ's has never been a hassle for me.
