The selection of furniture and food is unmatched. This is my go-to place to buy candy. The food is all unique and you can't find it in most places. Most of the food is from different countries which makes World Market unique. My only issue is how expensive some of the stuff is. This isn't a huge problem considering how much stuff costs to ship. I would recommend this place to anyone! read more

We were in about 20 min before closing on a Friday night. I wanted to see what Halloween stuff they had. We found a couple things on sale. Waited upfront to checkout. Young male cashier couldn't be bothered to wrap our glass ornaments even though there is new print right on the counter. Not at all friendly. read more

I love this location, it has a little bit of everything, seems to have gained some popularity due to tik tok, but hey! I was still able to pick up some tinned fish which is why I usually come here. I picked up some groceries and wine, as well as a suction cup holder for my phone! Check them out if you are in the area! read more

World Market is a beautiful and unique store! When I walk into the store and shop, it feels like home. It's always lovely to shop here which I don't come often. This store has imported goods and many selections of spices, home decor, beer, wine and spirits, candy , furniture, dinette sets, kitchen sets, dinnerware, table linens, lanterns, candles, rustic, metal, industrial wood, rugs, window treatments, coffee & tea , silverware, pillows and so much more! There's something for everyone for sure. My cousin and I visited on 12/6/21 and we purchased some wine, spices and candy. read more

High prices for what you get. Not that special Many items looked cheaply made!! I use to shop there every Holiday!! read more

Horrible customer service. Cashiers did not know how to do check out someone applying for a credit card. You would think that is important. Manager today was not friendly and would not work with me on an exchange that I bought with a discount yesterday. Love their items but will be back. read more

Love World Market, but especially at the Holidays. The decorations are like none other and the specialty foods are different than typical shops. They have a variety of drinks available! I can spend hours here! read more

This location is fairly standard issue. Lots of interesting items to look at but not a lot of choices in any one particular grouping. WM is a place I look "just in case" they might have something I am looking for, not because I know they will have it. I was saddened to see the entire time we were in the store their cashier was looking at her phone. Several other employees were working throughout the store, but apparently this person is ONLY responsible for running the cash register so when she isn't busy, as in the Friday morning we were in the store, she doesn't have to do anything else. Not a good reflection on management or the employee. Please put down the phone and find something productive to do. read more

This is such a fun store to go to. So many discoveries to be had! 5 stars - Food items. They've got such a diverse array of snacks and ingredients here. The last time I went there, I found vegetable broth powder that I thought you could only buy online or in specialty markets. I also like their sparkling water selection and international snack selection. 4 stars - Home decor. They have an eclectic mix of items. I like the floor cushions and pillows especially. They have beautiful options for dinnerware and glassware that would be great for dinner parties. The pricing though makes me hesitate from making a purchase at times. It's not overpriced. The quality of items is good. They do have coupons for rewards member from time to time. It's free to join and you get a coupon to use for your birthday too. Overall, they have such unique items that I would go here to treat myself, try a new food item, or buy a gift for a friend. read more

Love everything about this place, the culture is really nice. I enjoy the huge variety of products they offer. In addition the little kids and kitchen area as there are so many interesting things! Also the prices are very fair and they even have a rewards system. Knowing me I will be back for more! Parking is easy but that area has an odd layout. This store place reminds me a lot of Jungle Jims on a much smaller scale. read more

would let me return a brand new dress that still had "partial" tags on. just not "full" tag. I bought it with the tag already broken. Clearly never worn this item, Won't be shopping here again. read more

Cool store but some of the cultural areas seem limited and the prices are a bit steep for being a "cost efficient idea". As you work your way around you go thru home goods and furnishings, then food/ snacks in the back, then alcohol, then dining/ kitchen by the check out. Also has a lot of gift and trinkets in the middle. The home area is neat with some cute finds but a bit pricey. $100+ on mirrors and $120 floor mat. The food area seems to be the most diverse, European candies, lots of native Asian soups and noodles, different smoked meats and chips. The vast array of carbonated beverages was neat. The cheese selection was a let down considering the fact that that is such a globally diverse area and they had very little. The wine/ beer has a huge selection of unique varieties. The dining/ kitchen has a lot of cool kitchen gadgets and you can buy silverware by the piece which was neat but could add up quickly. Overall a neat store but slim pickings and overpriced items was where it all kind of left us lackluster, cool location to check out. read more

I love World Market! They have some of the coolest pieces of furniture, most colorful wall hangings, and teas/snacks from around the world. Great place to stop when your looking for those hard to find gifts or last minute stocking stuffers. Lots of Christmas ornaments to pick from and great small 3-wick candles. Definitely a great place to find unique items that you won't find any place else. read more

A great place for home decor a very niche set of food items , drinks , rugs and other home goods, they seem carry lot of natural/hand made products ( I think I can call them organic) like jute bags, cotton clothes etc , they also sell a Lot of Christmas items during the Christmas season , one of the few places where you can buy Tim tams biscuits, penguin candy and British puddings during the Christmas time , they have a nice selection of European candy and biscuits. If you wanna get away from the boring chain stores then this is a place to chill out read more

I love Cost Plus! It is great for gifts big and small. It's especially great for buying little nic naks to build gift baskets. I always go here for Christmas shopping. It's great for stocking stuffers and decorations and it's always great for food. They have a good size selection of international foods, candies, drinks, etc. Plus they have a selection of wine, beer, and other alcohol. You really get a variety of things here: food/drinks, furniture, kitchen/dining products, bedding and bathroom goods, cards/gift wrapping, toys, jewelry/clothes, random gifts/goods, etc. It's like a smaller Target, you'll go in just to browse but you'll probably leave with a lot of other things. read more

I can always find something unique at World Market, as well as good chocolate from around the world! This is a go-to spot to get Ritter Sport, as this place has all kinds of varieties. The people at this location were super friendly and helpful, too. read more

I love this place. From the coffee samples at the entry to the rows filled with fun internationally inspired goods like pasta, rugs, mirrors, pillows, beer, wine, dishes, Christmas decor- you name it. Whether I like it or not, I never stroll out empty gander. Although, I will admit sometimes this stirs can be overpriced when you compare it to something similar like TJMaxx. Given its Carmel location along Keystone, it's very accessible and the parking lot makes access even easier. If you're lucky you'll find the clearance section filled with bonus treasures. The back of the store is filled with fun eats and drinks from around the world as well as those that are domestic. This is a great biz for finding wedding and Christmas gifts. Low quality and lack of inventory and options combine to make this store inferior to competition.

What a great find as I was searching for Hancock Fabric while in Carmel. I had no idea at the time World Market was this close in Merchants Square off of E. 116th Street. As I browsed each department I found affordable furniture with love seats, settees, dining tables, side chairs, pub tables, breakfast sets and stools. Many items were available to create a gorgeous tablescape from table linens, dinnerware, silverware, glassware through floral centerpieces. Furniture styles ranged from Mid Century, Industrial Wood & Metal, Rustic and Traditional with something for every room in your home. They carry lots of accent pieces with area rugs, pillows, throws, wall decor and lamps from traditional to urban contemporary. I browsed candles, lanterns, window treatments, outdoor-indoor string lights, Christmas stockings, Halloween candles (black bleeding candles, skulls, crows), and flameless candles. I enjoyed the coffee and tea section with adorable teapots. I ran across affordable beers and wine from $10-$20. In the same area are chips, serving bowls, cups, kitchenware, and barware. Items to build upon or compliment your current party decor. Cooking & baking, party and entertaining essentials, kitchen tools and storage are also plentiful. I ended up purchasing quite a few things I actually needed for an upcoming event which made the drive worth it. Prices are affordable, wide selection and you can find something you probably need. read more

A hidden gem - the outside is very unassuming. The inside is like taking a trip around the globe. So many unique crafted items, foods, drinks and more. The Christmas selection was wonderful, but some is a bit pricey. This is not a discount store, but good products with a lot of variety inside. Could be a little overwhelming upon first glance! read more

VerdicTL;DR: A Valentine's Day card to a gentle world, full of wonders and discovery. Cost Plus World Market is a chain of stores that that stocks an odd mish-mash of knick-knacks from all around the world. A cynic might say a word or two about cultural appropriation, but that would be both uncharitable and wrongheaded. An elitist might say a word or two about lack of cohesion, but that would also be both uncharitable and wrongheaded. Cost Plus World Market, you see, is about discovering that there's an entire world outside of the little corner you inhabit. It doesn't matter if you're a sophisticated world traveler or someone who has never set foot outside of his hometown -- the human experience is too large for any one of us to know in full. All we have are mental models, viewed through the warped lenses of who and what we are. All we have are memories, moments forever lost to time as we ourselves are eventually lost to time. But most of all, all we have is each other, here and now. When my wife and I first began dating, we used to stop by a Cost Plus World Market, usually to sample am interesting beverage. Ramune from Japan, Rieslings from Germany, San Pellegrino from Italy, Lambics from Belgium. She used to wash and keep the empty bottles on display at her place -- each bottle evoking a taste, each taste evoking a pleasant memory. An ever-present Valentine's Day card to a gentle world, full of wonders and discovery. And that, indeed, is the spirit of Cost Plus World Market. Whenever I come to one of these stores, it's hard for me not to see the happy ghosts of our much younger selves, hopeful for a wonderful future together. And it is even harder for me not to appreciate the wonderful present I have with the very same woman at my side, all these years later. We may look and feel somewhat different -- we now have aches, pains, and concerns that we did not have when we first linked hands and picked out interesting drinks from around the world -- but so too do we have the richness of time shared, trials overcome, and love ever-present. Happy Valentine's Day, Yelp. And Happy Valentine's Day, Cost Plus. read more

Interesting, imported food items. Interesting, imported booze. Every flavor of coffee syrup imaginable. Unique gifts. Unique wrapping paper. Cute furniture. Whether I'm holiday shopping, trying to find some sort of strange Asian candy to weird out my friends or just adding a tasty brew to my arsenal of coffee, World Market never fails to impress. I'm always thrifting and searching shops for the most unique things at affordable prices, so this place hit it off for me. My recent purchase included a cast iron teapot ($20), THE cutest owl cookie jar ($13), some Digestive biscuits ($3/pack), and a couple mason jars ($1.50/jar). For specialty items like these, I would normally have to order online and pay shipping. Not anymore! My first impression of the World Market was from their website which seemed affordable and too good to be true. Well, when I figured out that there was a location in Carmel, I made it my mission to peep it out for some groovy house wares. Not only do they have affordable décor and kitchenware, but they have a world food and wine section that has little drops of affordable heaven in it. Two words: English. Biscuits. Rob converted me to English style biscuits, which is basically a slightly sweet cookie that gets dipped into English tea. When we recently went to England, we actually went to the grocery store to stock our suitcases with packs of biscuits because they're so expensive in the states. Well, now that I've found them to be affordable and available in Indy AND I don't have to order them online, I'm a very happy camper. They have some great, sturdy furniture that looks like it came out of a magazine spread, but a bit too overpriced for me. Maybe later, when I get a real job. Dark wood kitchen tables with bench seating, very rustic with that warm, worn-in look. I was uneasy about how many throw pillows they have in here though. Seriously, like one quarter of the store is filled with pillows. That's a lot of pillows. Oh, and they have a free membership deal where you can get coupons emailed to you. Boom. Coupons rock. read more

Great store, unusual and unique items, which I like... deducted one star for this location because if you are not from this area.... good luck finding the store... there is a small sign out on the main street, but after that you loose the trail completely... and there are twists and turns and when you finally and accidentally come across it, you wonder: 1. How the heck does this have a 116th Street address.. and 2. Am I ever going to find my way back, because I forgot to leave a trail of crumbs on my journey read more

I'll admit right up front that I shop here mainly for one thing: the chocolate and candy section. World Market must have the most extensive collection of imported chocolate and candies in the metro area. Not exactly cheap, but then again, not too expensive either. Apart from the usual Lindor balls and such, the real finds here include lots of varietal, fair-trade and unusual flavored chocolates. Some items are World Market private label and others are from names well-known to we chocoholics: Cadbury, Cote d'Or, Ritter, etc. Some suggestions: the WM coconut curry and chai flavors, the Brix dark chocolate (supposed to be consumed with wine, but we rarely reserve it only for that occasion), the mini lavender-infused bars...there's so much more....you'll find your own favorites! Also, one caveat - this is the place to pick up white chocolate indulgences if you have a non-traditional chocolate eater in your family, too. Also check out the rest of the candy section, especially the gummy and Asian offerings. The rest of WM isn't bad, either. I've picked up some small, very cool dishes here, curtains, throw pillows and a few small pieces of furniture. read more

I just love this place. It is filled with amazing items from around the world. Anything from jewelry and home decor (like rugs and pillows and tables and chairs and wall art) to kitchen gadgets and not to mention the awesome food section with beers and wines from around the world. I would give this store a higher score but I will say that my last visit was great until I reached the cash register. The customer service rep was quite stand-off i sh and rude. This place should just be called "50 dollars"...as that is what everything here that I like seems to cost. Now, don't get me wrong -- I keep going back -- and I find things that don't cost $50. Hear me out. World Market is a great spot to explore if you like random foods/goodies from other cultures. They have a wide variety of teas, coffees, and flavored syrups to add to beverages like those fancy-schmancy coffee shops. They have a great selection of wines as well. However, my favorite thing to do at World Market is to build my own 6-pack of eclectic beers from about 12-16 shelves full of random beer bottles. Pricey, but fun. It also saves you from buying a whole 6, 12, or 24 pack of a beer that *looks* good, but ends up being on the brink of suck once you get it home -- and you never finish the case. See? I just saved you money. You're welcome. My other favorite thing about World Market are all the kitchen stuffs and gadgets. I love love love browsing all of the glassware, towels, and cool tea bag holders -- and how you can buy individual dishes for your very own in-home sushi party. Whatever randomness you may need you can probably find here. Should I ever come in to some extra cash, I will splurge on their cool home goods (quilts and rugs are GORGEOUS, furniture is sturdy and legit)...but until then, I will sip my beverages and just dream of all those cool baskets. read more

I WANT EVERYTHING AT WORLD MARKET! Seriously, can they just design my home? I always find so many treasures and then get really confused when I bring them home and try to fit everything into my own living room that lacks the store's adorable vibe. Why don't I come here more? I seriously need to be better at remembering World Market when I'm in the need for a cute gift or home decor, or when I just have the shopping itch. I wanted to find a song about patios for this review, as I couldn't think of any off the top of my head, so I turned to my good friend google to help me out. Well isn't it a lovely day Oh, I'm feeling all brand new Well isn't it a lovely day Oh, boating on sunday with you And if you really want to kiss her Just go right up and tell her Oh, isn't it a lovely day for love Well isn't it a lovely day Oh, my patio's on fire Well isn't it a lovely day? It was marked 50% off, and then I got another 10% off for joining their Voyager program (just an email thing, not any sort of thing you pay money for), so I ended up getting a new wood patio set with a big rectangle table, two end chairs with arms, four side chairs, a huge rectangle umbrella (important for us pale folk), and umbrella stand, as well as a bottle of wine and a six pack of beer to help celebrate for right about $600! The staff are also really, really helpful. They will hold the furniture for you until you can come back with a truck to pick it up, which is pretty awesome, and they will go digging around in back to see if they have more of a particular thing for you so you don't have to take a floor model. Oh, my patio's on fire indeed! read more

We stayed over an hour here just looking at all the little odds and ends. So many interesting things to find here that couldn't really be found anywhere else. Home furnishings, decor, kitchen supplies, ethnic and specialty foods/snacks. Random Tip: During the holiday season, get a large tin of their ginger snap cookies. They are thin, light, crispy, and the spices make for a rich wonderful flavor. For me no Christmas is complete without an abundant tin full of these. It's hard to describe this place. It is a chain, but unlike most chains, it's hard to pigeon hole this place into a genre of a store. In many ways it's similar to Pier One, but in many ways it's totally different. And I love just about everything about it. A pro that is also a con is that you never really know what you'll find in here. Most of their furniture is catalogued and you can order it if you do not find it. But since most of their items vary by season, it's hard to remember something that you saw a coupe of months ago, where it was, and describe it. On the other hand, if you walk in not having any expectations and have money in which you are ready to buy, this place could be retail heaven. Whenever I go in here, I try to go in and not have a specific thing I'm looking for, just a specific room I'm trying to decorate and let the pieces fall where they may. Between this place and TJ Maxx Home Goods, you can really eclectically decorate a house and make it work! The best part in this place are the exotic (and some not so exotic) foods, extensive chocolate collection, and wine collection. If you want to learn how to be a professional amateur wine drinker start buying random labels here and let your palate do the talking. You'll be sure to find four or five that really stand out to you. Many now mainstream name wines from Australia started out at CPWM as a promotional wine. Next thing you know it's in your local grocery store with a prominent display! This store is very neat and the helpfulness of the employees reflects the general hospitality of Hoosiers and this northern suburb. Between this shopping center, Clay Terrace, and the shopping off 146th Street, Carmel has everything you need to set your home decor off! read more
