When I am looking for something new for my home, I really like that feeling when I first walk…read morethrough the door, that the place is filled with lots of options and all seem like they could make my life more interesting. Now that I am married, an item needs to pass both my criteria AND my wife's, but even that wasn't a problem at Houseworks! As we explored the showroom, we were greeted by the staff and offered help if we needed anything, otherwise, we were free to browse. My wife was simply looking for a table lamp (which she found) and also a floor lamp. She had in mind what she wanted and while she worked with the salesman to find it, I browsed what seemed like an art museum of wonderful furniture and fixtures and decor. If I wanted to have the coolest den or man cave, there were tables that used gears for expanding or drop leaves that could save room. Artistic pieces adorned the walls and side tables too. My wife tried some of the chairs around the multiple tables set up for dining rooms and if she may start prompting me to go along with getting some. She liked that they were more than simply functional for eating, but that they could easily adapt to becoming more relaxing allowing the person seated there to lean back. Honestly, if all shopping was this much fun, I would go more often! Now understand these aren't mass produced (ie poor quality) pieces. But if you are shopping for furniture on the north side of town, I assume you already know that it can get expensive. As long as the quality is there, I don't mind. I have a feeling that some more shopping is in our near future. I have a feeling that Houseworks will be seeing us again soon! Review #3847

We were greeted immediately upon entering the store by Sam. The prices on sectionals were outstanding. While I don't currently have room for a sectional (small living room) if I did, I would have purchased one today. The selection of pictures and decor is outstanding. Unique items include repurposed, decorated fire extinguishers, "Real Housewives of Carmel" and "Real Housewives of Noblesville" decor. I loved the wall art. There were pictures of all sizes, even very, very large pieces that I know are hard to find. Prices were very reasonable, and there was definitely something to fit every budget. This is an interesting store and well arranged. A fun place to shop.

Horrible nightmare! We thought we purchasing good quality furniture from a reputable business. NOT…read moreAT ALL. The "delivery" team consisted of a group of intoxicated guys who stumbled all over our new home dragging dirt, putting handprints all over the walls and destroying drywall and trim through out the house. When we asked them to stop smashing into things, the main guy said, "Well the furniture is heavy. What do you want us to do?" The "high quality" furniture we bought included two nightstands, that had to be assembled on delivery. In their condition, they could not assemble it properly. We had to take it apart and redo them. Contacted the store and corporate, even went down there in person. They did not care. The whole experience has been surreal. In using Yelp, I believe in giving out 5 stars and focusing on the great businesses out there. Do not feel comfortable calling a business out, but the public must be warned about this "business".

I stopped by Foundry 317 during a recent jaunt through Broad Ripple during unseasonably warm temps…read more I parked my car and just enjoyed wheeling around the area for a bit. Foundry 317 is along the canal right on Westfield Boulevard. Foundry 317 focuses on home decor and furniture. I clearly arrived right at the tail-end of the holiday season and a good number of the items either had a holiday theme or fit within the holiday season. Items included antiques, one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, festive accents, candles, and other overall housing items. Foundry 317 has a parking lot, though I was actually wheeling there. There's a small ramp up to the sidewalk if you approach it from the right (facing Foundry 317). The doorway is pretty workable and I found the interior to be surprisingly accessible (though I will admit I was taking extra caution given some of the prices!). As I was wheeling, I knew it was pretty unlikely I'd actually buy anything on this visit as it would have been difficult to carry back to my car. However, I definitely saw some items I loved and can easily see myself returning in the near future. The employee I encountered was friendly, the environment was warm and inviting, and I really loved some of the smaller items. I'm a candle freak and definitely would like to return for those. I've always found this section of Westfield Blvd. a little hit-and-miss. The sidewalk is kind of cracked and it's somewhat uneven, however, there's much to love here and I loved the efforts toward accessibility. This is definitely a little gem. I'd seen it before, however, I've never been by when they were open. I finally got the chance to visit, and I'm definitely impressed. I'll be back.

I was greeted quickly by co-owner, Suzanne Deason. She told me about the sale, with pieces marked 40% off! I've been looking for a sofa, but I looked at everything. They carry a mix of very high and medium priced decor. Dion Deason, Suzanne's spouse and biz partner came out and we talked a long time. They do remodeling and interior design with 35 years of experience. Most of their clients order furniture to custom specifications. I thought I may have been in a little over my head, but they were down to earth. Most of the furniture is custom made in North Carolina. He taught me what to look for in sofa cushions. The furniture they had in the showroom was a mix of modern and trendy. I did see a couple sofas I really like and with the sale, they were quite affordable. I haven't bought anything, yet. But I'm close. As with all of Zionsville, parking is hit or miss. I'm not sure the store is very wheelchair accessible with the tight quarters. I love shopping local and avoiding the chains.
