Twisted Sisters has a great variety of gifts and many different themes and types of gifts. They have a lot of unique items that I don't see in other shops. One thing I really appreciate about the shop is the people working there are friendly and willing to help you find a great gift for someone. That's rare, in my experience. It's easy to find and it's a convenient location. There is ample parking. The other thing I have to mention is they will add tissue paper to your little brown paper bag and dress it up, if it is a gift and then you don't have to bother wrapping it yourself! That's a big plus for me. It is becoming my go to place when I need a fun and unique gift.

I stopped by Foundry 317 during a recent jaunt through Broad Ripple during unseasonably warm temps…read more I parked my car and just enjoyed wheeling around the area for a bit. Foundry 317 is along the canal right on Westfield Boulevard. Foundry 317 focuses on home decor and furniture. I clearly arrived right at the tail-end of the holiday season and a good number of the items either had a holiday theme or fit within the holiday season. Items included antiques, one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, festive accents, candles, and other overall housing items. Foundry 317 has a parking lot, though I was actually wheeling there. There's a small ramp up to the sidewalk if you approach it from the right (facing Foundry 317). The doorway is pretty workable and I found the interior to be surprisingly accessible (though I will admit I was taking extra caution given some of the prices!). As I was wheeling, I knew it was pretty unlikely I'd actually buy anything on this visit as it would have been difficult to carry back to my car. However, I definitely saw some items I loved and can easily see myself returning in the near future. The employee I encountered was friendly, the environment was warm and inviting, and I really loved some of the smaller items. I'm a candle freak and definitely would like to return for those. I've always found this section of Westfield Blvd. a little hit-and-miss. The sidewalk is kind of cracked and it's somewhat uneven, however, there's much to love here and I loved the efforts toward accessibility. This is definitely a little gem. I'd seen it before, however, I've never been by when they were open. I finally got the chance to visit, and I'm definitely impressed. I'll be back.

Muesing carries a lot of fine china collectibles, Swarovski crystal pieces, vases, a small selection of Rance of France toiletries and the like. After entering the shop, hubby whispered, "This is the kind of shop that sells things my Aunt Delores would collect." He was right. The knick-knacks in here are not really our taste, but there's no doubt one could find a nice wedding or anniversary gift or such in here. What they have is very nice, mind you, and pretty pricey, but then the best knick-knacks always are. In fact, even we thought about buying a box of the soaps to put back for the person we'll inevitably forget to buy a holiday gift for this year... Ultimately, we left bare-handed because the salesperson was so preoccupied with inventory or unpacking or whatever in the far reaches of this store. We barely got a "hello" and only then at ten minutes post-entry. Hubby actually thought he could read the man's mind: "For Pete's sake, will you PLEASE stop shopping, can't you see I'm busy here?" But, if we need a crystal hummingbird collectible, this is where we'd go...the one they had here was gorgeous!

In that annex, there are lamps, clothing, and more small items that might work in a collection or as a gift. The only negative is that the supply is rather small compared with other antique shops. Each piece is handmade and the owner started this company so he could bring back pieces from his travels in an affordable and sustainable way. Many pieces come from India specifically. You can check their website for pieces, but their inventory moves fast and they often get new shipments, so go in the store to truly see everything available.
