The shop is opened Friday, Saturday and Sunday only. There is free street parking. Their sidewalks were dangerously icy during my January visit, so I had to walk carefully.

Fireside Primitives isn't a huge shop but has so many of the basic accent pieces and accents to help you either add greenery, candles, candle boxes, lights, bowls and table runners to name just a few of the many items they offer. I fell in love with the covered bridge with lights inside and trimmed out along the edges of the bridge. I'm still trying to find a place for this adorable piece. The two ladies running the shop were super friendly, proud of their shop, and the appreciation I personally had for their decor. I stopped by toward the end of the year and they had a nice selection of holiday-themed items. The store is of course geared toward home furnishings but they have some gift-type items as well. As far as I can tell, they most likely rotate what they showcase in the store as the season goes but many things can be purchased online. During my visit, they happened to be doing a monthly wine tasting and I proceeded to sample several wines. The wines can be purchased in-store and online. Even during these times I would like to "see" things as I shop (but maybe don't "touch"?), and Two Chicks District Co. is worth a visit. The store isn't big but depending of when you go it won't be a full house. I chatted with the staff during the wine tasting, and I am sure they will be knowledgeable and helpful with your shopping needs.

So when I stopped in after seeing a friend's photos of the shop, I first noticed that the staff was personable and inviting. I really like when a place that is offering things for your own home makes you feel welcome in their business. It sets a tone. As I browsed through the different rooms in the shop, each was a little different. There are some standard items like candles, knick knacks, some women's jewelry and accessories, and even a few toys. But what I sensed was there were two themes that seemed most apparent. First, the store is loaded with holiday items. I came here just a few days before Christmas and the place was loaded with unique items that were affordable (though not cheap.) There were ornaments (marked down by 40%), table items, and things you'll just have to come in and check out for yourself. I also noticed a second theme that was promoting downtown Indy. They had pillows with the names of neighborhoods on them. Those would be great as house/apartment warming gifts. Even the candles mentioned earlier had neighborhood names on them, though I am not certain who determined which scent represented them. (Note that all the fragrances were pleasant, not some actual scent you might smell outside!) And the staff were friendly and welcoming. That goes a long way. The price points were in line with what you'd expect from a museum shop, with some cheaper souvenirs and nicer pieces at a higher rate. They don't take cash, so make sure you have a card handy! There was a sale section as well that had some cool items at discounted rates. 30% off when I was there! I got my mini BFF a branded "survival kit"--a little magnifying glass, mirror, compass type thing--from the kids section and she loved playing with it the rest of the day! Our friends got a sheet of train stickers to take home. All in all, I think this would be a cool spot to buy gifts.

They sell jewelry, pottery, Pendleton, snacks, handbags, plushies and pretty much everything else you'd expect in a museum store. Prices range, some more affordable and other things are expensive native made art pieces. Staff is always a few steps away, security right outside as well. Their music selection is always nice. Sometimes smooth jazz, salsa or traditional native. They have an entire back wall of clearance items as well as some occasional freebies from staff. They offer samples of most of their skincare; lavender cream, white sage salve and sweetgrass cream. Snacks range from chocolate pretzels to chokeberry jam.

Riley's Emporium haven't gotten that memo yet, so the prices are really very good. (Shhh! Nobody send them that fax!) Of course, the prices vary by booth because each booth is rented by a different person. But overall, you can find lots of gems for low-low prices. There is an upstairs and downstairs. I didn't see an elevator, but perhaps there is one? Upstairs, there's a room that contains lots of frames and paintings, and it is the most quiet space that I've ever been to outside of a recording studio. It's kind of eerie. Just go past the creepy dolls and you'll find it. I could have left with bags and bags of things that I didn't need but really wanted. Instead, we just left with a t-shirt for one of my kids.

Came in here while waiting for an appointment next door with Jewelry Judge and..not too much to…read moresee. I wouldn't give them a negative review, but not necessarily positive either. They had mostly just antique furniture pieces and some books toward the back. Also a few jewelry pieces in a case that were pretty, but nothing super eye catching. There was also a large, ballroom type of room that was pretty much empty. The shop manager was taking down all the christmas display that was in that room and made polite conversation with us. I'm not sure if there is usually more to see in that room when it isn't the holiday season. I definitely would be willing to give this place another chance next time we're other this way.
