I love cookbooks, journals and fiction novels and they always have a ton to choose from. They sell everything, including but not limited to, home and office decor, pantry items and snacks, pet supplies, bedding, cookware, gardening, etc. On my latest trip, I purchased a new bible and several crochet kits to assist me with learning and exploring a new hobby. I'm rounding up to 2 stars. I was drawn in by the beautiful pottery outside the doors. I was overcome by the smell of plastic (polypropylene?) when I entered the store. This is a large discount store. I normally enjoy a good discount store, but this was a mess. There were unopened boxes of merchandise inside aisles. Perhaps, they are short on staff? They carry cards, books, household items, dry food goods and much more. Prices are ok. Checkout was horrible. There was one clerk. She was having issues with their checkout system. In addition, she was trying to recruit Ollie members by asking personal questions, such as children's names. The patron in front of me was annoyed and so was I. I won't be back. Does anyone remember Pic N Save? Big Lots? Ollie's is kind of like that. This store sells a bunch of random name brand (and off brand) items for slightly lower prices than you can find elsewhere. You really can't come to Ollie's with your heart set on finding a specific thing, because the merchandise changes all the time. About four years ago, I found an awesome mixing bowl here, and I came in today to see if I could get my hands on another one, and not only did they not have that mixing bowl that I was looking for, but they had no mixing bowls at all. But they had a big selection of whisks and a lot of cinnamon Frosted Flakes, so if you're in the market for a whisk or breakfast cereal, go hit Ollie's up right now. There are a lot of books here, also: cook books, self-help books, children's books, you name it. This store has a very special place in my heart... I just can't get enough! I love to walk around and see what I can find - there's always something interesting that isn't on your shopping list but you know you need it. For example, a donut toaster! Or unique flavors of Rice Krispy Treats. They get me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Ollie's has a great selection of brand name and non-brand name items for a significantly lower price. Some of the usuals I like to go for are Yankee Candles and Wax Melts, Toothpaste, Laundry and Dish Detergent, kitchenware and small kitchen appliances. Ollie's also has a great book section if you have the time to browse. Sometimes searching through the store is a challenge but that's just part of the adventure. They have a rewards program that typically offers 15% off coupons as well so make sure to sign up! Tip: make sure you look along the top of shelves - I found out during this trip that they sell suitcases along the top wall towards the back of the store. Once I started paying more attention to the top shelves, not only did I find new items that I didn't notice before, but I also realized that there were extras of items that I previously couldn't find! in my opinion this store uses dishonest practices. for example their stores have different prices so if you buy something at one of their stores for $10 AND return it at another which sells it for $6 you only get 6 for your return. If you have a complaint at the store absolutely all workers call themselves a manager so you cant get any help. they sell items in sealed boxes so if you open them at home and find them empty as I did you are out of luck read more

I love Ollie's don't get me wrong but like if you close at 9pm don't turn off your lights and lock up your doors at 8:40 pm while people are still inside shopping. I was one of those people inside with my son, my son got freaked out. read more

Ollie's Bargin Outlet is a discount chain store who offers items other stores have over purchased, factory seconds, close outs, remaining seasonal items or has printing errors. They carry a large selection of closeout merchandise from many, many homegoods, bedding, beverages, food, toys, electronics, cookware, books, greeting cards and space heaters. Many savings if you have time to browse all the isles. If you see an item you want I suggest you purchase right then since many things are closeouts. The isles are tiddy, spacious and the items are clean and organized well. It does take awhile to browse this large store. I've always found staff on the floor willing to answer questions or help find an item. The staff had a sense of humor, friendly and works hard to move check out lines quickly. I LOVE OLLIE'S!!! Yes, this place does warrant all caps when saying this! Ollie's is awesome, think of Big Lots but better and suped up and you got Ollie's! I would have bought way more but I was just visiting Indy for a few days and went a little crazy with shopping here. Bedhead round brush for $2.99? Check! Crystal Light for $.99? Check! Dove Chocolates for $1.99? Check! Does Ollie's have my heart? Check. I hope they stick around here, they have some great deals but there were only a few other people in there on a Saturday afternoon. Ollie's is a discount chain that reminds me of Big Lots. Ollie's sells closeout products and excess inventory. You can find good deals on name brand items. Like most stores of this variety you can find quirky items you never knew you needed. Ollie's has a large book selection with many different genres. I'm always drawn to their cookbooks and have purchased several. Their food section always has name brand snacks with flavors I didn't know existed. I usually always grab a few items from their health and beauty section each visit as well. Housewares is definitely worth a look. Be sure to join their frequent shopper club, Ollie's Army, to save even more. They email coupons and their weekly ad. Merchandise is constantly changing. My wife and I really loved coming to this bargain outlet. It reminded us of what Big Lots was like in the 1980s. Basically, the company buys huge amounts of overstock from mainstream companies, such as Proctor Gamble, Kelloggs, etc, and then sells them cheap. We found great deals in detergent, toothpaste, and other household products. Not as much food as in a Big Lots, but there is lots of kitchen materials and home wares. Huge carpet section, very cheap, if you need one. The inventory will drastically change week to week, and prices will be low. I was imagining an untidy, dark bargain store. However, it was never like that. The lights were bright, and items were organized. I was immediately impressed with the interesting books at low prices. After a long time of receiving circular ads and not actually making that way into this place, I decided to buy some Black Friday sale items. I felt warmed inside like it was my new favorite store. This place is part random and part completely awesome. They have a LOT of stuff---so much so that it's easy to get overwhelmed. The upside is that it's clean and well organized, and the people who work there are happy to help you if you're in search of something specific. I like going to Ollie's. They have ever changing stock & like the commercial says,"Good stuff, Cheap"! I give it 3 stars not because of their stock, but because of the management. The man who helped me at the check out counter was very happy & upbeat. I had an item that didn't have a price tag. It seemed he was new at the job, so he asked his coworker on the other register what he should do. She said "walk back there & check it yourself ". I spoke up stating there wasn't another one on the shelf. She then tells him "then call (a man's name that I didn't hear) whom I presume was the manager. As this manager approaches, he looks to be bothered by the whole thing & tells the coworker to go get the price...which she did, finally.. During this time, I felt sorry for my checkout guy. He kept apologizing & asking how my Christmas shopping was going. (Starting conversation to ease the awkwardness of what I just witnessed, which I appreciated). How unfortunate management was so unwilling to help this man with his job. He's perfect for the position. Very people friendly in a customer service position! Imagine that? Too bad he's not the manager who would ensure a friendly shopping experience vs a hostile environment. Upon leaving, he again apologizes & wishes me a Merry Christmas. This store is an amazing chain but this location is terrible. My family and I went in at 8:50, they closed at 10 for holiday hours. And we could hear workers LOUDLY complaining about customers in the store the entire time we shopped. Mind you, it's Black Friday and there were multiple people in the store. They made several announcements as we shopped about closing time approaching. Completely fine, every business does, but it was obviously overdone and sarcastic. One announcement being at 9:47. We were literally in line with others to pay and the employees were laughing about her making the announcement at that time. One saying, "I was going to wait until 10 'til but I was like oh no, get your stuff and get out." Another announcement comes at 9:55 and two or the employees loudly cheer from several aisles down, "woo-hoo, go deb!" I have never heard employees discuss customers so loudly and disrespectfully. I know they don't care and it won't affect them but we left our carts sit. read more

Better than big lots by a country mile. Helpful staff, they make an effort to keep clutter to a minimum, the rewards program is actually worth the trouble, the merchandise is mostly above average. We visit just to see what's new, and we don't do that anywhere else. read more
