BE CAREFUL BUYING PALLETS FROM THEM. I bought a pallet of 5 patio chairs from Target for $500 that said it retailed for more than $2000. Cool. They don't do refunds or exchanges on pallets. After picking them up, I went inside to check out more pallets. I noticed they were selling the exact same chairs for $50! Oh so I paid double what you're selling them in the store when I bought them wholesale. I'm so mad and feel so ripped off.

I was pleasantly surprised by the selection of items offered in this store. I'd been told by a family member that the selection was dismal, but perhaps they stopped by at a bad time. This store has everything from food stuffs to furniture to pallets for purchase. The prices aren't extremely low, but we did find a few good deals. The staff was friendly and helpful as well.

I would say some stuff is really good to buy but you really have to watch expiration dates on the medication's and some other food. Other than those I might go back but I did buy an oatmeal and the container was fully closed and when I opened it up it had bugs it made me toss the other ones that I purchased. So it was a waste of money for me. It Is also a drop off for Wish orders and it's not close to me. The store hours really make it hard to be there at all 10 to 4 Monday through Saturday

I'd just happened to stumble upon Barton's by accident, as their 'Open to the Public' sign outside of a huge warehouse piqued my curiosity. Stepping through the doors, you immediately get a warm fuzzy welcome with their complimentary coffee and water in the entryway. While usually seasonally decorated, it most recently displayed a warm tribute to an employee killed in a hit and run accident riding her bike home. Acknowledgement of her loss further validates the culture of this business, and my desire to support it. Their inventory is reasonably discounted, but not clearance cheap, and consists of beauty and health products, home and housewares, toys, food, clothing and furniture. The majority if the items are Amazon and Wayfair liquidations, new packaged and scratch & dent items. I've been shopping for a modern sofa with a mid century style for some time now, and Joybird was a little steep for my budget. I'd seen several nice options my first visit, and wanted to check their stock. Luckily, they'd just received new inventory and stocked the floor with multiple styles to choose from. I weaved my way through the aisles, testing out seats, and snapping pics of my favorites. I decided to go home to do my research and sleep on it. The one that stood out most was a green velvet Hillam sofa that retails for $1300 on several modern decor sites online. It received great reviews and was listed for $675 on Wayfair.com. I made a beeline back the next morning and was thrilled to find it there waiting for me. Because there was a blemish on the front (not noticeable), I got it for $250, and couldn't be happier with my purchase! The staff and floor manager are all personable and helpful. The entire process, including pickup was a breeze. My sofa was wrapped in plastic and off loaded directly from a forklift into my truck with care. I'll be singing their praises across social media, because nobody should pay retail when they have a friend like Barton's in town!

GREAT DEALS + CHILL STAFF + CONVENIENT LOCATION + EASY LOADING + FREE COFFEE = 5 STARS Pallet Sales explained: This is not a high end shopping experience, this is where hustlers tryna make a dollar outta 15 cents. Tons of crap that is returned or rejected either online or in stores is resold here for cheap. Many of Barton's customers make a business or side hustle of this place, and resell the merchandise in stores / craigslist / Facebook marketplace, and some customers like myself come here to furnish properties. My personal experiences: You really can't lose money buying pallets here if you've got a place to store it, and have a way to use it / sell it. I just furnished a 4 bedroom for AirBnB and am in the process of furnishing 2 more units. I personally hate couches from Ikea and most of their particle board crap. I come to Barton's to buy the liquidation furniture from Wayfair which is sold here for 15-30 cents on the dollar. I have bought 3 pallets here so far for about $1200 total which included 3 new pullout sofas, 3 new sectionals, 2 new wood bed frames and 2 huge area rugs. My friend has also bought a home depot return pallet with over $1,000 worth of lighting fixtures for $100, many were broken but we were able to salvage a bunch of working pieces. Disregard the previous 1 star review. For context, they have a 4.1 star review on Google and a 4.7 star review on Facebook. I have zero affiliation from Barton's aside from being a customer, and I am a very happy customer. I have been on several occasions and have nothing but good things to say about this place. End of the day, this is a pallet sale. You don't come here to make classy friends who don't vape or smoke, you come here to pay $3-500 for $1-2,000 worth of stuff. I've spoken with Betsy, who prices pallets and does the checkouts, she is a very easy person to deal with. I think the previous reviewer had a one-off experience. Pro-Tip: Many customers come here with their own pickup / trailer. Bring a friend that can hook you up or rent a U-Haul!

I work across the street from this location and I'm working on a brick building doing masonry work…read moreso I'm in this store quite often I walked in there yesterday and found this mirror that hangs on the wall that also opens to a jewelry box and it also lights up Messina I got excited I wanted it they was going to charge me $40 for it and come to find out they had sold it to another Mexican family for $15 I made sure the lady knew I wanted this jewelry box and I didn't care if I had to pay $40 but come to find out they sold it for $15 to another family the same culture as them. I honestly feel like the are against white ppl. That is a big money difference!!!!

But this store, when I visited, was a mess. Just things everywhere. There are shelves of open boxes containing everything from solar garden lights to personal hibachis to bath mats to electric can openers. There are ceramic coffee creamer containers and basketballs and safes and 100-packs of individually wrapped slime blobs shaped like aliens. And it's all everywhere, all at once. Now, I love visiting a store with lots of stuff everywhere, but this place looked like it had been attacked. Maybe it's because I visited at the end of the day? Your experience might be different from mine if you visit on a different day at a different time. For instance, the shoe area had single shoes hanging out with pairs of shoes that looked like they had been worn by customers who came in and decided they didn't want their shoes anymore, and so they just put on the shelf. Next to this was clothing that was hung up on a rack, but there was no rhyme or reason to the organization. Swim suits with football padding with pajama pants with toddler outfits. The clothing area is where I decided to just let go and let God, but then I looked at the prices and almost laughed out loud. Not Bulldog Liquidators trying to sell me a Target blouse for $10! Anyway. They do have a lot of furniture here, which I think is the big draw. I saw some decent bureaus and tables and things. Also some ottomans and a nice gaming chair that I almost considered. After taking to some people who like Bulldog Liquidators, I think people come here to get discounted food and health/hygiene supplies, like pads and diapers. They will sell open packages of pads that have just one pad removed at a steep discount. That's nice. But I think for the uninitiated, Bulldog is just a mess, and I'd rather spend a couple of dollars more to shop at a place that is more organized. And the prices are not really discounted, compared to the quality of items that are in the store.

Falling under the umbrella of Good News Mission, a near-eastside ministry that started off as what one some would call a "homeless shelter" but has grown to include a youth center, supports for families, and even a neighborhood health clinic with a focus on the near-eastside. Good News Ministries Thrift Shop offers used or new clothing, furniture, appliances, household items, and much more. The thrift shop is run by residents from the men's shelter and offers them work experience and direct customer interaction. I drive by the thrift shop just about every single day on the way to work and had long been curious, however, I never stopped in until recently to finally check it out. Those who were working in the story were friendly and helpful. Rest assured that this is not a Goodwill store - it's smaller, less organized, and definitely more crowded and a bit run down. However, I found it to be clean and actually was surprised how much they actually had. 100% of the proceeds from the thrift shop help to support the various efforts of Good News Ministries. It's worth noting that this very much a ministry as is everything with Good News. There's a strong foundation of faith here, specifically Christian, and it radiates throughout their offerings. In terms of accessibility, I'd say the thrift shop offers casual accessibility. Yes, you can get in it and the actual environment typically will depend on what they have at the time. I generally had not much difficulty, but it's a bit hit-and-miss. Because it's an old Village Pantry, the building itself was generally designed with accessibility in mind. I've never seen an actual crowd here. The small parking lot has informal options for accessibility like aisle ends, etc. The thrift shop is catty-corner to the Good News 10-unit family shelter and right by the East Washington Branch Library. Would I return? Definitely. Prices are good, options are plentiful, customer service is casual but helpful, and Good News has been around since the 1950s and has a long history of helping those with housing instability. Since this is only their 2nd review, I think it's safe to say this highly visible but often unnoticed thrift shop is definitely an under-appreciated gem here in Indy and a terrific way of supporting Good News Mission. Oh, and yes, they do accept donations. You can visit their website to find out more.
