There are TWO Addendum stores at Carmel City Center (catty corner from each other). One is lesser than: sells MacKensie Childs, hot fudge sauce, and quirky throw pillows. The other is *exquisite,* which sells fine goods from US, Italy, Mexico, and France. Brands like Jan Barboglio, Trvdon, Fieldbar, Baobab, L'Objet, etc. The owner might seem snobby, but he's actually quite patient and helpful (and he owns the most high-end store in Carmel, so an "aire" is understandable). What a gem of a place, I haven't seen this much Mackenzie Childs in one place since I left New York, in Aurora. Great people and a great variety of MC products to shop with. This is one of the few notable primary shopping outlets that is recognized by MC. If you are in the Carmel area. Swing by and see if there is anything that tickles your fancy. read more

I stopped by to see what this location had since I had enjoyed my stop at the Keystone at the Crossing location. This place is noticeably larger with more room to move around. The inventory seemed to be different here. More focus on home decor (serving dishes, rugs, etc) and less of the cute stuff that I liked at KatC. The price is upscale which is expected on this side of Indy, so I wasn't too shocked at anything. They do have some whimsical items like the stuffed penguins & flamingos, but not much variety. The man behind the desk greeted me when I came in but wasn't intrusive as I browsed, staying at the counter while I was there. I want to like Addendum because they have some very nice product lines which are some of my favorites...but, I don't. First time I was in the store the salesman was rude and pompous and after browsing a few minutes I felt so uncomfortable that I left. This happened with each future time I was in the shop where I felt treated poorly and judged. Then, at Christmas my husband bought me a few items, including a beautiful platter, from Michael Aram's line. He did not realize we already had that same platter so I told him to just go ahead and return it and we could pick something else, but Addendum said they won't accept any returns. No returns? I have never heard of such a thing. I will never patronize them again after I was given such a hard time for the attempted return and persistently felt uncomfortable with each shopping experience. From here on out I take all of my business buying nice wedding gifts, shower gifts, etc. to Charles Mayer at 56th and Illinois. They carry many of the same lines that you can find at this unfortunate mess of a store, Addendum. read more

This is the worst place in the Carmel city center district worst experience here shane the owner/salesman of this store is extremely rude does not want to help you or service you like a store owner should. He should not be apart of the pedcore homes or part of Carmel city center he does not welcome people or a people person at all. I hope for the residents of city center and others stores around his he leaves especially being next to a beautiful cake bake store it is bad for buisness to be that rude to others around you he is a disgrace to a beautiful place like city center. read more

I have to agree with the previous reviews regarding the poor attitude of whom I assume is the store owner. He works at the cash register but I've never seen anyone else there. He really is incredibly rude, unhelpful and acts as though any question you have is a disturbance. I love the Lafco candles and was excited to buy one without the hassle of ordering online but once I experienced the attitude of this man I wasn't interested in spending any money there. It's obvious by his snarky responses that he doesn't feel that he needs my business and that is fine but I'm happy to spread the word where I can so that others can seek out more pleasant shopping experiences. read more

I have never experienced such poor and rude customer service in my 46 years! I ordered a custom order gift on 10/29 which was supposed to be in in 2 weeks. It's Dec 9 and I had to call to determine what the issue was. The answer was that the order was misplaced but will be done by Christmas!!! I didn't need it for Christmas. I needed it by mid November. Had I known it would be that long, I would have cancelled the order. The gentleman Shane would ONLY give me a store credit and ended up yelling at me saying he took back a crinkled up sweater I returned which WAS 100% not worn and in compliance with their return policy. He was just bitter as I returned it. They must need the business that badly or else anyone in customer service knows you would never treat a customer this way. This whole issue is their fault and he threw out complete BS because he knows they are wrong. I would think small business boutiques would know better because this will be yet another failed business in the future-guaranteed. I'm a very simple easy person to deal with and I wish I could return the other $110 item I purchased, out of principle because I regret ever giving them business and never ever will again. Looks like I need some other boutique to purchase 25 staff gifts.... I'd give them 0 stars but it wasn't a choice. read more

They also carry Ralph Lauren, Match Pewter & Jan Barboglio all brands that I love and usually do not find outside of Chicago or New York.
