I liked this shop. I found plenty of fun clothes to check out. There were home decor items and furniture as well. It was a good sized store and I found plenty of items I liked. The prices were on the high side but they did have some items on sale. They had a big wall of designer purses behind the counters where you pay. They had jewelry also in the cases where you pay. I found some cute Betsey Johnson cat earrings that I purchased. There were a lot of unique items especially in the furniture they had. Make sure and bring a shopping bag as they are bagless. They had a lot of designer fashions and had the higher end items separated in their own section. They had a separate room also for the shoes. I am sure I will stop again when I am up in Carmel. read more

I waited for my clothing to be looked at. They said it would be 45 minutes so I waited. It took over 1 1/2 hours. I had barely worn clothing by Ann Taylor, Cabi and White House Black Market bought within 2 years. They told me it was old and I was rudely treated. I have supported this store for years and will not return. read more

I really love Amanda's. I have sold many things there. They are quite picky (as some reviewers mention) but I think that's what makes them unique. Because of this, they are also my favorite consignment store to purchase from. I don't feel like I have to dig through every rack to find one thing that I like. The money I've made from consigning is definitely the most fair I've been paid from any consignment shop ever. As far as selling items - if you have clothing that is current, in great shape, and slightly (or very) upscale- Amanda's is the place for you. And I have never bought one, but they have an amazing selection of designer purses that look brand new. read more

I have consigned with Amanda's several times. my clothing and shoes are very high quality. I took a cart of clothing there but they took nothing, saying it smelled "musty". There were brand new shoes, and some items were directly from the dry cleaners, others were new. they didn't even look through two shopping bags of small items. Even if I end up not purchasing (because I come in for one thing and find something I want but don't need and just so happen to exercise self control) lol! I've been selling my 'no longer useful to me' things here for many years. And over the years I've bought a few things too. The process of bringing in and having clothes put on consignment is very easy. Make sure your clothes are clean and ready to wear and on hangers when you bring them in. I think items in tubs became acceptable during the pandemic but not sure about right now. You fill out a quick form than wait until your name goes up on a board for them to tell you what they did/didn't take. You get an ok cut of the selling price. You'd get more if you sold it yourself, obviously, but my time is more valuable. Plus, most of my stuff always sells. I never pick up unsold things. They go to somewhere after they leave Amanda's Exchange... I don't care where... just not back to my house. You can use the money you earn as credit in the store. You are mailed a check automatically once you hit a certain amount sold. I think it is $50. The items that have sold the quickest and at the highest price for me have been baby clothes. Items I buy most often from here - jewelry. I found a Lizzie Fortunato necklace that was a recent design for a great price and a unique pair of turquoise (real) and silver earrings. Cool spot! I brought a pile of clothes and shoes that I didn't need anymore and was happy to give them a second chance at life. If you're bringing in items to exchange, you head to the back of the store and there's a counter where they go through your items to decide what they can sell. They'll then tell you which items they'll keep and what percentage of the sale you'll receive. I'd recommend bringing your clothes in on hangers and making sure they're in good condition, or there's a good chance they won't be accepted. If Amanda's doesn't take them, you can opt to have them donate the items to a Goodwill instead. Be sure that if you're bringing in, say, summer clothes, you come before summer starts so that you can get the most money back for them. If you bring in seasonal clothes at the end of that season, they'll instantly have to go on the sale rack and you won't receive as much as you could had you brought them in earlier. If you're coming here to shop, you'll be pleasantly surprised. I thought there were only women's clothes here, but there were also children's clothes (girl and boy), as well as a lot of furniture and home goods. read more

Visiting a friend and she took me to this store. Such a great assortment. Was able to find a great outfit from WHBM-pleather plants and a great top. Saw a fur I loved however it was newly consigned a a little to pricey for me. My friend went back in December to check on the coat and, unfortunately for me, it was gone...sigh. Been shopping here for as long as I can remember. I love a lot about Amanda's, they have decent prices on clothing and a wide range of items. Today I got a beautiful red dress for $30 dollars for a special occasion and I would say that is what Amanda's is for! I usually check out goodwill first if I'm trying to find something specific and then pop over to Amanda's if I didn't find anything. I am an avid thrifter and if you are too Amanda's is great for those specific pieces that you are willing to pay a bit more for. The down side to Amanda's is their consigning. They only ever take a few pieces even if all the stuff you bring in is new and well known brands. I know they are trying to be more cautious about how much they bring in but then I wonder why so many clothes go on their sales racks. It's like sometimes they purposely pick the ugly stuff (no offense). I have just decided I won't be going through all the hassle for them to just sent it all back my way. The employees to me have for the most part always been nice. One employee has remembered my name over the years and is always interested in how I am doing, which I extremely appreciate and it makes me feel very welcomed. Much better plus size selection than other resale stores in town. Items are also more pricy but they have better brands, so that's helpful. I still sometimes have a hard time paying $40 for a thrift store sweater when I have 0 say in size, color, style, etc. so I don't feel that I'm walking away with a "steal." I found several items on my first trip in, though, so I think I'll try bringing in some of my own items to consign and then check in seasonally for any new treasures. read more

You'll find women's and children boutique clothing, accesories, furniture and home decor. If you've never shopped here before and enjoy consignment shopping bookmark this store. They specialize in ladies to juniors (XS-3x), high quality, name brand or designer label clothing, jewelry, shoes, boots, coats, shawls, scraves and designer purses from casual to formal wear. This is a very popular location for wedding attire and prom dresses (Prom consigned Jan. 15 - April 30th). Whether you're looking for a little black dress or one of your favorite designers, shop at Amanda's first. All clothing are current styles, excellent condition and come from a smoke free home. Seasonal children clothing is sold here as well. Boy's and girl's clothing run from newborn - 8. Pre-teen girls and boys clothing run from 10 - 16. My wife recently died, and I took in new clothing with the tags still on along with some brand name clothing and shoes and boots. The first time was May 5th and I never heard anything. I took a second batch in on May 12th and this time the nice gal told me to wait while they looked at things. While waiting I asked about my first trip in, and they showed no record of keeping anything and gave it away. Then, they brought out everything I took on the second trip within 10 minutes and told me they wanted none of it. Brand new stuff from Chico's, etc. I read everything they didn't accept online and none of my things were on that list. I don't feel like they gave me a good explanation of their process and my first batch I didn't get back. I'll no longer be wasting my time here. read more

First time I visit the store today First of all everything is kind of expensive but still a bargain compare to to buy new . I was very disappointed I wanted to purchase a watch but when I was ready to pay I was told that the watch was sold online and staff forgot to take it from the shelf , I think they should have sold it to me because was not my mistake. Wonderful resale shop. This larger space and set up really allows for some great finds and the easiest ways to consign! I've seen some really great finds at this location which has them stand above the rest. They work hard for keep the space organized and neat, as well as easy to find the items in the category you are searching for. Consigning takes all of 15 minutes. Super easy and they donate what they don't take and you don't want to mess with. Great spot, highly recommend! Love shopping resale! read more

I hadn't been to Amanda's for a few years (moved out of state and now back) and wanted to check it out with my 6 month old. I found so many good items (mostly shopped for home decor) and realized I had no hands for then taking all my stuff to my vehicle with my baby in a stroller that was also now having a meltdown! Enough shopping for him! Ha. The gal that checked me out and several lovely customers waiting in line were so kind and helpful in the stressful moment--trying to calm my baby so I could successfully complete my purchase. Without hesitating the employee checking me out and a sweet stranger in line offered to help me out to my car and unload my purchases so I could attend to my son (and not have to think about making two trips). Sigh of relief. So THANK YOU to Amanda's Exchange for having great secondhand inventory and kind employees, and to all the customers for lending a helping hand when a momma really needed it. Update 2022, a year later: I never heard back from anyone and just decided to let it go. I dropped off a purse for consignment and was told I would be contacted with pricing in a few days. I never heard anything so a week later I called to check on the status. I was told that my purse had been sold. The employee told me she was not sure why I wasn't contacted regarding pricing because my paperwork stated that I should be. She was very nice and helpful and said she didn't want me to be unhappy so she would have Amanda call me. This conversation was July 22 and I've still not heard from Amanda or anyone else from the store. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I feel like I gave this business ample time to reach out to me and resolve the issue and I have not been contacted. read more

The clothes are in good shape, and the prices are what you would expect for a consignment shop in Carmel. For example, a Gap jumper was $22. A Banana Republic tank top was $14. An Anthropologie sweater was $24. Not the thriftiest prices, but you're probably saving at least 50% by purchasing here. The other reviews about this store are spot-on. The dressing rooms are very poorly lit; so much so that it has to be intentional. Maybe everything looks better when you're looking at it in the dark? Despite the poor lighting, it's in your best interest to inspect each item very well, as they do not accept returns on anything. The customer service was poor as well. There are about nine women working in the store and not one greeted me. They did see me, though, but for whatever reason chose not to engage with me. A lot of them stood around talking to each other, though. That's fine by me, as I like to browse without having to chat anyway. But if you're a person who likes interacting with store staff, you might be disappointed. read more

Went with a friend who has been telling me about this place. We enjoy thrifting and being responsible consumers while at the same time enjoying nice things. I found a few tops that still had tags on them and my friend left with an armload of clothes for under $100. What I really liked about this place is that it felt like a boutique instead of a garage sale. Clothes are arranged by brand. They are well displayed and there is a large selection. There were teens prom dress shopping, older ladies browsing, and lots of people like us who are heading back to the office looking for new wardrobes after two years of working from home in leggings. I browsed their inventory and was very surprised they returned all of my items. I drove to Simply Chic and they purchased 6 items and told me to come back after Labor Day to sell the other Fall items. I would avoid taking your items to Amanda's. I think people confuse this with a Goodwill and then are frustrated at the prices. This is nice stuff worthy of it's price tags and it's super fun to walk in here and look around. I do wish they had some more Plus size clothing but the last time I walked in there I saw a perfect Simply Vera jacket (from Kohl's) in my size that had sold out online a season ago. It was just $15, still had tags on and was further reduced by a promotion they were having. The housewares are nice too. They really do work this asses off to make the store look lovely. Then when you're done there, continue your thrifting experience at the Goodwill store behind it. I almost always hit there, especially in the kitchen goods. read more

I love thrift shopping! I love resale shopping! This place isn't bad! They are located in a busy shopping area in the 116th and Keystone area where there is heavy traffic and construction going on in the former Pier One location. The store is large and bright! Half or more of the store if dedicated to furniture and décor layout in vignettes. The furniture is nice, mostly in good condition, and they have a few new pieces for sale. I found the prices to be rather high for the condition/brand/piece they were selling. They have cute mini chalk board ornaments in the shoe section labeled to show what sizes are in what areas, and use other cute displays in the store. The clothing is divided out by type and for the most part the sizes are clearly marked. They have a lot of fairly nice clothing, a variety of brands. Pricing on some items I looked at seemed reasonable and others seemed too high. I did notice at least five people working in the store and not one person acknowledged, greeted, or asked me if they could help me. I approached the register to purchase a Chico's shirt that I found on sale for 50% off (super cute) one sales associate continued a phone call with out acknowledging me, and a second finally approached me after a few minutes and rang me up. I was a little taken aback when she wadded (not folded) my shirt and put it into the bag. This place is cute and worth a look! Don't expect any warm fuzzies if you come here though :( read more

Amanda's is a fun store to look around at but checkout is always slow. I had one item to purchase and a customer in front of me had many many items and there were two people behind the cash wrap yet no one opened another register, as well as many in the back. I had to pick up someone, so I had to leave my purchase and just go. They need to make sure they have enough sales reps / cashiers to handle a big purchase but still Help others. Asking a store to have at least 2/3 cashiers isn't asking a lot! but again , Beautiful store , great prices and so enjoy looking around! read more
