Not sure why there are so many low reviews.. I've been to resale shops from Pittsburgh to Chicago and this one is my new favorite! I found 4 Free People Tops and Sweaters for $80! This is a steal! I get one at Nordy for that amount or more! They have great brands, Vince, Joie, Free People, etc and some are 27 with 20% off! The set up is super adorable and the decor is very trendy! I was approached by multiple sales girls that told me about the 10% off sale on all purses, helped me set up a fitting room, and also about the rewards card! I had a great experience and come to Indianapolis once a month and will be back very soon:) read more

I love this store! They have a mix of clothes and home items but what makes them stand out is they merchandise the used goods as if it were Macy's. The clothes are sorted by type and by size. Prices can be on the high side but they also carry better quality items. My best friend was with me and she bought several home items including a large shadow box, 11x 14 framed picture, and a metal side/wine rack table plus several other items for $100. The staff was nice. We were able to pull up to a side door to load the table and it was waiting for us to get. They also have a little free coffee bar in case you need some energy while shopping. I have not tried to re-sell items here but I may try on some of my nicer stuff. Will update my review if I do. They also have a rewards punch card to encourage you to return. I can't wait to go back time and time again to see what's "new to me" there. read more

I enjoy shopping for my clothes here, the prices are great and quality is very good compared to other consignment stores. I did a quick browse through the furniture and although I think the furniture looked nice and was gently used, I found the prices to be a little more than expected for used furniture. Perhaps its all very good quality, I can't speak to that since I haven't bought any of their furniture yet, but I'll keep my eyes peeled for any pieces I feel can't be passed up and will update my review accordingly. I do think they have some nice home decor and they do offer clearance priced items. I'm 32 years old and found great clothes for work here. Michael Kors pants, Loft cardigans/tops, and Clarks wedges. I also brought my 17 year old niece and she found several summer clothes that she loved. So it's a very diverse selection that can cater to several styles. They also have name brand shoes and purses. I found the staff to be friendly on both occasions when I was buying. I have not consigned any items yet. read more

Carmel Consignment is right next to my doggy doc, so I often stop in to peruse the racks and have found some pretty good items here at times. This is a good place to check for purses and other accessories and the prices here are very reasonable. Though the shop has expanded recently, it is still smaller than other consignment shops in the metro area. Merchandise is always in tip-top shape and the store usually has a nice mix of casual to formal wear. The juniors selection seems to be more abundant of late, but like any consignment, you just have to stop by frequently. I most often buy tops and sweaters here - anything that I don't plan to wear more than a season or so. Also a great place if you need "uniform" type clothing such as several white blouses for a retail job or some-such. read more

I've noticed this spring that the store seems to be working to improve customer interactions. I've been in 3 times in recent weeks and enjoyed being greeted with a cheery welcome. When I stopped to ask questions, the staff was friendly and polite. Whatever you're doing...please keep it up. It's always more fun to shop when employees are happy and seem to like what they do. I do understand what other posters mean by the poor lighting in the dressing rooms, but I run into that issue at a number of the other stores. For what it's worth, there is a large mirror just outside the room. While I've noticed a marked improvement in prices, inventory, and customer service, a no-return policy has always been why I don't shop more often. No one likes feeling like they are getting stuck with a purchase. Note: For those who are going for the first time, the 116th St/E Carmel Drive round-a-bout/service roads can be a little tricky, but a couple of minutes of preparation can make getting there a cinch. I've found that it's easier to avoid exiting onto E Carmel Drive (north and southbound Keystone traffic). Instead, I use the southbound service road and exit at Station Drive, then follow to Keystone Way. Review the maps before you go to avoid that particular headache. read more

So upset with how today's problem got worse, went In to this amazing place and bought 3 things from the clearance rack and one item from an ordinary rack. Got home an immediately wash the clothes. not knowing one piece had a exploding ink tag on it.. We live in Greenwood and we drove to Carmel. We checked out and the new cashier Claire S was telling her staff how she knew what she was doing and can handle her own, she cannot..she ruined my purchase. I've been here a few times to look at clothing and honestly it's a hit or miss for me on finding things I like. The prices are also hit or miss aswell. Sometimes ive found good deals on designer and other times it's still overpriced. I mainly only come here in the fall/winter to look at fur coats (they have both real and faux fur.) and i usually find reasonable pricing on those. My complaint is, like most people's reviews, are how incredibly rude the staff was. For me its always been the younger girls. Each time I've been there, I always have at least one glaring at me the whole time while I'm going through the clothes and i don't understand why. Maybe they thought i was stealing? I'm not sure but i found it unnecessary. They're also always really passive aggressive with me while checking out and it's just uncomfortable. Makes me not wanna go back honestly. read more

Amanda's is my favorite consignment store which I typically visit weekly. I love their online offerings at this time when they cannot have the physical store open. I ordered a handbag on Saturday and it was in my mailbox on Tuesday; just in time for my birthday. Complete waste of time and money and I feel like I was judged by their staff. I spent $20 on hangers - because all clothes have to be on hangers for them. I brought nearly 100 times in and they told me they would take NOTHING. Some of the items were brand new with tags. The girl who helped me was not friendly and I think because I was dressed nicely and drive a nice vehicle they treated me different. Just a gut feeling. Hard to believe not one item was sellable. They said they were only taking spring and summer items - half of my things were for spring or summer? And I had a variety of items from clothes to purses to art work. I would advise NOT to waste your time or energy with this place. Your chances of them buying items are based on factors that are SUBJECTIVE and you'll likely just waste time and energy and in my case money ($20 on a box of hangers). I am disappointed and discouraged and won't be back. Also the place looked and smelled like a Goodwill. I expected it to be cleaner and nicer being a consignment store in Carmel. read more

This place is the absolute best. I have never had a poor experience here. The first time I came in I bought a formal gown that looked like it had never been worn for just $60. The gown is gorgeous and I've worn it for a couple of events! I also bought a prom dress with tags still on it for $120. It's a beautiful dress that was very reasonably priced compared to other similar dresses I looked at at other stores. They have a good selection of athletic wear with a variety of brands from lululemon to nike to fabletics to generic. I wish they had a bigger selection of athletic shorts and skirts. This is the one area lacking with the athletic wear. I bought an adorable Nike athletic skirt here for just $12. It was just like new and I was so glad to give it a new life. They have a huge selection of jeans and pants that I found very reasonably priced. Many had tags on them or looked hardly worn, but were under $20. Denim can be so expensive so I loved being able to get some of these more expensive brands like Express, Seven, American Eagle... etc in the $15 range. They also have a huge shirt selection. My only complaint here is that many of the styles were outdated and I couldn't see most people buying them. I also would've enjoyed more fun graphic tees because they are so in right now. The store was very clean and the employees were all wearing masks. However, one employee didn't have it over the nose which kind of defeats the purpose. I really appreciated that they have their fitting rooms open as well. I think that's especially important when buying on consignment with brands you may not be familiar with or clothes that might be a little shrunk or stretched from their former owner. My one frustration here was that I didn't see them wipe down the fitting rooms or see any signs that indicated they were doing so. They may still be doing that, but I think it would be helpful for them to be more public about it. Overall I was very pleased though! I've been so happy with every purchase I've made there and will definitely be coming back! read more

This is not a Goodwill store, nor is it a vintage store. It is a well-stocked store of previously-owned contemporary clothing, handbags, and jewelry. They are selective about what they put out, which means that you do not have to dig through racks of junk to find a treasure. Everything was mostly in good condition, and mostly in style. The store is very well-organized. For example, not only is everything organized by size and color, but they also have a Banana Republic section, a Ralph Lauren section etc. They have a designer section too, so if you're looking for a Burberry coat you might find one here. I got a pair of Gap pants and a Gap blazer for $22 total. New they would have easily cost $100. Even though everything looks clean I'd still recommend washing before wearing. read more

This place has some pros and cons. But mostly cons. The first being I brought in furniture to consign and they took it. Okay, great. I come in a week later to see if it's been sold - and there was damage on it that had never been there before! It was like new when I brought it in, and then when I came back, was scratched up and missing a knob. The whole piece had unique drawer pulls so it's not like you could go out and replace it super easily. I asked to speak to the manager and she brushed me aside telling me I would get a call back. Several days pass and I never get a call. So I call back again and (I'm assuming Amanda?) told me they would sell it as is - now marked down because of the damage they caused - and yet no further reimbursement to me. This is not right. I brought in something worth a high value and trust them to do their duty to take care of the furniture so we can both profit $x. Because they hurt it, I now don't get as much for the piece since they had to essentially put in on clearance. Not even a "sorry" out of her mouth. Since then I have had no faith or trust in the store. Additionally, the other reviews are right and the workers here just blatantly ignore you. Every time I've come in to look at the fashion apparel, it's a several minute wait for the fitting room because they all walk around and act like they don't see you waiting there. This store could learn a thing or two. read more

A sincere "Thank you" to all the well off ladies in Carmel who consign their clothes here. I shop at Carmel Consignment a few times a year. The clothes are very good quality and organized by category (boutique, active wear, jeans, designer label, etc.) and size. There is always a nice selection. The staff are attentive and have offered to start a dressing room for me each time I've shopped and have a few things in hand. I think that's very good service, like you'd expect at a high end department store. They have mocked outfit displays throughout the store. I recommend paying attention to those for accessories and even shoes. The store always has a nice variety of Coach purses on display behind the counter. The jewelry case is stocked and items are priced to sell! I should also mention their loyalty program. For every $25 in merchandise purchased you'll receive a stamp on their loyalty card. Fill it up and get $25 off your next visit. Nice. If you're in the area, it's worth popping in. Sometimes you don't know what you're looking for until you find it! read more

UPDATE: a sweet blonde woman here changed our whole perspective on this shop. She was so sweet and made us feel so special. The other employees can look to her as an example! Every time my mom and I have visited this glorified thrift store, she has left almost in tears because of the treatment of the management. She is an immigrant and doesn't look the way these white Carmel moms would like her to look. And they've treated her like trash every time. This is racist, classist and unacceptable. I can't justify spending money on clothing that makes my mother feel like this. They've also been quite rude to me almost every time. Amanda's Exchange is a very very picky resale. Good luck with them buying or choosing anything. Took 3 bags of shoes (some still brand new) and they didn't accept a single pair. Took them to Simply Chic and they took a bunch and gave great value for them. Simply Chic blows Amanda's Exchange out of the water hands down. We've been 2 times now and both times it's been the same case with them and Simply Chic didn't even hesitate. Wouldn't be surprised if Simply Chic is in business years down the road and Amanda's Exchange isn't. read more

Well, I called today to see if I could bring in some beautiful dresses. They have gone to the cleaners and were on hangers. They are suitable for weddings and size 14 to 16 worn once. This place offers no customer service, the prices are way too high for used merchandise, the environment is chaotic and the sales persons are rude. Not one employee greeted me or even smiled at me as I browsed the store for 30 minutes. There were a lot of teenaged employees, a few of whom were giving each other rides throughout the store on a tall rolling ladder. Some other employees were talking with each other loudly about customers they dislike. The prices seem very high, especially for items that are used. While there are some "new" items, I noticed some of those had prices that were higher than what was on the original store tag. I picked up a card at the store asking customers to complete Yelp reviews. I noticed that this is a violation of Yelp policy. I don't think I'll be heading back here any time soon. read more

HUGE STORE! They combined teen & women's apparel + home items to their CARMEL location, with men's consignment located near 65th & College, broadripple-area. Prices and selection were great, yet didn't plan for enough time to peruse home section (make sure you have 40min to an hour in order to see everything)! :) An added bonus is their staff! I was surprised to see so many employed and so many ready to help and/or advise of sales and to start fitting room... Good help us hard to find, so nice work on your hiring and keeping employees happy! Definitely will go back soon! read more

I really enjoyed my experience here! I feel that bringing bags of things into a place to try and sell them can feel awkward. However they seem to ease the awkwardness. They have a great system set up for selling. They offered decent prices for a consignment store. I purchased a Beautiful Coach bag that I love! I walked around for an hour struggling to decide between multiple bags! The selection is great and the prices seem fair. I will say that I expected to know how much they were putting on my bags for consignment and those numbers weren't given to me. Which is fine because I'll just call in a day or two and find out! I really wanted to like this place. After all the stylish photos they post on social media, I thought I would find similar in the store. I was wrong. Everything is very hard to find. The way they section the store is so disorganized and none of the staff will help you. Also, do not market that you have sizes from extra small to 3x when you have the tiniest rack for plus size. I'm bit of a bigger size and was very disappointed when I found their make-shift plus sized section. Their prices aren't the greatest for a thrift shop experience and their furniture is very expensive and not the best quality. It was $400 for a small chair. I could go to Macy's and buy a brand new one for the same price. Their social media is pretty deceiving. They market all these beautiful, high end fashion but when you actually go into the store it's all garbage. I won't be back. read more

Don't waste your time! If you're looking for an uncomfortable place to shop, stop looking! The employees are immature, rude, and unhelpful. I asked an employee about certain clothes I had picked out for my new job, and thought she would have some insight on business professional material. I was told with a scowl that she "didn't know" and if i "wanted a fitting room" or not. My friends and I also brought in clothes for consignment. Yes, there standards are a little higher, but we had six bins of clothes with Banana Republic, American Eagle, and Lululemon, some even with the tags still on. THEY TOOK ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I spoke to another woman walking out and she insisted that if I didn't know anyone inside the store, to not even bother. They will take one look at you and decide if they will want take your clothes or not. The clothes are even overpriced. I saw a medium sized Yankee Candle (not even brand new!) selling for $7.95. Really? It's not worth going in and leaving with the feeling of being judged and disrespected. read more

I would give these people no stars if I could. These people had the audacity to bring everything i brought in back. not a single thing they brought in was considered in exchange. Mind you i brought in quite a lot, more than a lot of people during the hour I was there. And of course i considered the conditions of the clothes they were new and barely worn. Good quality and of popular brands and they attempted to justify the fact that they didn't take anything in because "we don't take in these brands" which i just found outlandish, my mother and I were shopping around during the hour they made us wait and found some of the same brands we brought in thinking that we would make a good deal out our clothes, kitchenware, bed set. And as I have mentioned we brought in A LOT and to not have not a single item accepted is absurd and unbelievable. As i waited the long hour they made us wait, just to have nothing considered or even REVIEWED was just insulting. The gall they had to do this to me and my mother was unimaginable. On top of all this, we noticed that when they brought in our stuff back, the bags and clothes were not even moved. they were left as we had loaded them. we opened the bags to see if the kitchen ware was in its place as we had left them, and they were. It was evident that they did not even look into our things. I thought how lazy of them. I saw a women walk out with about as much clothes as us, and she did not look satisfied at all either. How can they not accept one single item? It's absurd, and i find it very well possible that these people were too lazy to even review what we brought in, in other words they did not do their job. Never shopping here, nor supporting them in anyway. Don't waste your time shopping here nor bringing things in. read more

First Time, Last time. Went to bring my clothes that I had no use for anymore here, I brought men clothes but I was not aware that they did not take those in, which is on me, and understand. However, what I found absurd is that when I brought in the bags and women clothes that they took in, one hour later they brought it back out untouched, and just the way the clothes and bags were loaded as I had loaded them. The bags were not opened, which had more bags and kitchen accessories, the clothes I brought were in good quality, I also brought in a bed set, a bed comforter new barley used. All in its bag. Not even opened or inspected. The lady at the front desk said that "We don't take some of these brands you have" Which I just found as a horrible excuse because as I waited for them to review the clothes, I was shopping while I waited, I saw brands that I had brought in. What I saw today was pure laziness and no commitment on working with the customer or even doing their job. The things I brought in were not revised and they let us wait the whole time for nothing. I was going to buy clothes from here, but after this horrible experience I do not wish to support this store at all. read more

It is 8:02 at this time, so I go down the aisle and a girl approaches me and says we're closed. First of all who does that. I mean I'm in the back of the store. What am I suppose to do, run out. I live in Denver & was in Carmel last week for business. I love consignment stores and after online researching, I decided to visit Amanda's. Wow! This is probably the nicest consignment store I've ever been in! As for the negative reviews, could it be because you brought in out of style, dirty, or wrinkled items?? I doubt their 18 year success is contributed to pissing people off; they obviously know what will sell! Everything I saw was in style & clean. I scored a pair of Hudson jeans for $30 & a Free People shirt for $14.... along with a lot more items! They had numerous designer purses neatly displayed on the wall for easy viewing. The store is decorated so cute & there's also furniture/home decor. The store must be 10k sq ft; I could've spent several hours inside. I will definitely go back next month when I'm there! read more
