Chicken Shahi korma

Small venue, delightful polite staff. Best chicken dishes, korma and vindaloo we have Jan in a very long time. Lots of flavors. Nice on the thinner side naan. Will be back! Ambiance is usual strip mall style but very kempt and clean.

While the food smelled great, all the protein in the curry were quite dry. The vegetable curry was the best in my opinion because the vegetables were cooked through and soft (not mushy). There are better Indian restaurant options. Garlic naan (4 slices) - great garlicky flavor, no complaints here Keema naan (4 slices) - was ok, first time getting it ever so not sure what to expect. The meat in the naan was dry Chicken tikka - ok flavor with a bit of spice (can hardly taste it) there were large pieces of chicken which were dry Butter chicken - mild in flavor, also had dry chicken Lamb vandaloo - lamb was also dry, flavor was mid, has bits of carrots in it Navratan korma - the best tasting one IMO, vegetables were cooked through, balanced flavor Service - we were a table of 4 and the server kept mistakingly giving us sets of 3s (3 cups of water, 3 sets of utensils...), food was also slow to come out

Ordered takeout from here for a large family dinner. The owners were friendly and helpful when I picked up the order. They labeled all the dishes, so it was easy to distribute at dinner later on. We ordered a lot of things, but I only tried the stuff I ordered which were the paneer samosas and chat papri. Samosas were a decent size and tasted good. I would say the chat papri was a lot creamier / has more yogurt than I'm used to from other Indian restaurants. I ordered it as my meal, thinking it was going to be more on the dry side and not super white (I'm assuming from a lot of yogurt) and more "healthy" as I've had a lot of other versions that were different. It was just okay for me. Everyone else also enjoyed their food, so overall I'd say it was a good choice.

They sold me expired rice pudding two days in a row! I didn't mind it the first time because I thought it was just a mistake and it was just for today, no they sold me EXPIRED rice pudding again! This tells me they don't check their foods before they serve or cook them. I went to google thinking it was normal for the rice pudding to be thick but both me and google know it's supposed to be liquid. I'm so disappointed this could cause serious health issues.

(RESTAURANT NOT RECOMMENDED!!) first off i called their phone 3-5 times and no one picked up, second i ordered the butter chicken and it came with yellow rice (which is NOT indian rice), the rice is sweet which is disgusting. They're so cheap they couldn't even afford to give basmati rice or some decent rich with it. Third the chicken was cooked to shit, very chewy, so sweet (i ordered spicy), food was OVERLY expensive compared to the food quality, i recommend going to another restaurant.

A class act in the Frederick dining line-up. Virtually ten straight years of positive experiences deserves a mention.

The best in curry I've had in the U.S. The owners are extremely nice and very attentive to their customers.

The bar area is big and spacious, and usually sitting at the bar means better, more attentive service. The place was mildly busy, so I expected things to run smoothly -- but that wasn't the case. Right from the start, the bartender wasn't very attentive. We had to ask multiple times just to place our order. For appetizers, we tried the Goat Buttan and the Wild Boar -- we wanted to explore some of the unique delicacies on the menu. Both dishes were interesting, and the Goat Buttan and Wild Boar were actually pretty solid. Unfortunately, the service continued to be an issue. We had to flag the bartender again just to order our entrées and even for simple water refills. We ordered the Mutton Taas and the Yak Chili. The Yak Chili was very good, but the Mutton Taas was extremely dry -- like eating cardboard -- and lacked flavor. Throughout the night, our bartender was constantly absent. More than once, we had to ask another bartender to get his attention so we could get basic service. After finishing our meal, we ordered a dessert, the Gulab Jamun. The presentation looked nothing like the picture -- more like a sloppy drop of pudding -- and the taste was just as disappointing. And again, we had to flag down another bartender because ours was nowhere to be found. Service overall was lackluster, and the tip options started at 20% with no 18% choice. For the level of service we received, 15% would have been more appropriate. I won't be returning anytime soon unless I'm specifically craving their unique delicacies -- which is once in a blue moon.

This is an intimate BYOB spot, and it was completely packed when we arrived. The atmosphere feels cozy and authentic -- the kind of place where you know care goes into both the food and the hospitality. We ordered the chickpeas, cauliflower, and a mango lassi. One thing we really appreciated: they asked us what spice level we preferred. My wife doesn't like spicy food, and they thoughtfully prepared everything mild for us without sacrificing flavor. The chickpeas were outstanding -- rich, well-seasoned, and deeply satisfying. The cauliflower wasn't quite to my personal taste, but it was well prepared. And the mango lassi? Absolutely amazing -- creamy, refreshing, and the perfect complement to the meal. Portions were generous, and the service was prompt and genuinely excellent throughout the evening. If you're in Lancaster and enjoy flavorful Himalayan and Indian cuisine in a cozy BYOB setting, this place is definitely worth a visit -- just plan ahead and make that reservation.

We ordered - Impossible meat momos 3/5 - they were okay...not the best and not the greatest. The flavor was hiding and the momo did not stay in tact at all. The sauce that they served alongside did not enhance the momo at all. Veggie momo 3/5 - again, they were okay. In fact, I think these were worst than the impossible meat momos. Didn't seem like there was any flavor and just veggies mushed together with salt and pepper. Raita 3/5 - way too liquidy for my liking. I thought they would at least provide rice, but no. So it was just basically liquid yogurt with a couple of strips of cucumbers and carrots. Paneer chili 0/5 - the container literally said 'paneer chili' and after 2/3 bites, I asked my friend if this was actually paneer because it was kind of chewy? Of course it wasn't and it was chicken!! I'm vegetarian so I was so disappointed that they put the wrong item in our order, especially since the container explicitly said paneer. This morning I woke up with a terrible stomachache. The food definitely did not sit right with me. I'm definitely going to skip this place and try Moh Moh Licious next time.

Our friends who dined with us tonight traveled to Nepal three times - and tonights meal was spectacular. The chef sent out a course of sel roti with mooli ko achar and trust me -- the deep fried sel roti with the tanginess of the radish pickle in mustard sauce was a great start. Our dinner order was enough for 4 - with a few boxes of leftovers for tomorrow. First course/appetizers we had the crispy kale and the momo (chickened and vegetarian- both were equally delicious). For our main courses, we had the lamb chops( 3 generous and succulent chops) , the tandoori combination ( both lamb and chicken) along with the Aloo cauliflower/potatoes in curry. We also had an order of garlic naan and regular naan. Two of us had a spectacular cocktail that was rimmed with cayenne! The cocktail was great, but we were both caught a little off guard by the heat of the cayenne. For dessert we had the Rasmali - a cheese based dessert that was a lovely ending . Service was attentive , the music lively but set at a perfect volume for ambiance and conversation and timing between courses perfect. We were never hurried or left without attention. They have this perfectly orchestrated. Our Bethesda friends? They'll drive to Arlandria again thats for certain! Great meal, authentic food, fantastic service and a good value.
