As good as they come! We were both very satisfied with our food. She had a haddock sandwich and I had the seafood sampler. The lobster bisque is to die for! And great crab cakes! They are busy at dinnertime, but the wait in line was worth it. Highly recommended! read more

Heard great reviews about this place so stopped there on Friday for lunch with family while in town on vacation. We ordered 2 lobster rolls, chowder, crabmeat roll & a seafood bisque. Just want to say that the lobster rolls look good when you get them but the first bite in was full of shells. Not sure who is picking the lobster meat but they may need to be retrained on shelling meat. The seafood bisque was horrible and the chowder was just full of potato's. Lastly there is barely any parking so one must park off street and make sure you are not in a tow zone. I would not recommend this place. Hope everyone enjoys eating shells. read more

Small roadside shack type restaurant that gets very crowded. The lobster burger was amazing! The staff was great too.

On a 3 day trip to Maine, this is the best lobster shack out of 3 that I tried. The whole lobster is cooked to perfection.

This is a must stop in Rockland. Great food, nice prices, excellent location overlooking Rockland harbor. We liked it a lot!

This place was everything I wanted. A cute lobster shack right off the main drag with delicious food, friendly informative service and a great view! It's right off route 1, a perfect stop if you're headed to Boothbay. I got the twin lobster deal (2 lobsters for $18.... A steal!!!) a side of corn on the cob (for my non seafood eating boyfriend) and a glass of alberino. I was initially going to just get one lobster, but the guy at the counter mentioned the 2 for 18 deal and since I was on vacation I figured, why not eat two whole lobsters before noon? I'm glad I did, the lobsters were sweet and fresh, (the view from the wooden picnic tables is the ocean....) and the slightly effervescent alberino was a delicious compliment. My meal came with a bib (awesome!) and a fork and pick (for getting those small bits!) . Even the restroom was fantastic. They had nautical decorations (pin ups holding a lobster.... Far side lobster cartoons etc...) and dental floss picks! To top it all off, the guy behind the counter had some great suggestions for less touristy restaurants in Boothbay and a tasting room in Bath. Thanks for the great experience! read more

One of the best Maine lobster rolls I've had. Over stuffed with fresh lobster,and a buttery roll. Fries halibut and fries were great.

We ate there during their first week of operation last month and I know I will be a repeat customer whenever I am in the area. The food was fantastic. Portions were generous. Facility was clean, parking was plentiful. Nice view over the fence of the picnic area deck. One unique thing about this place: no deep fried food. We didn't miss it. read more

We've been in Mid-coastal Maine for a week now and a day doesn't go by when we don't have a lobster roll. I mean, we're from So. California so this is a major treat and we haven't missed a moment of indulging ourselves: there's a lobster shack around every corner and in every cove. We've driven through Rockland and seen the line of customers running out into the parking lot at Claws- this cute little place just North of town. But today, when driving by, there was no line because it was 10:53am and they don't open until 11! "Would you?" he said? ""Heck, yeah!" I said, and we caved from our original plans to climb Mt. Battie. There were 3 other cars in the lot waiting too, so we waited politely, then led the charge to the take-out window. The other diners followed promptly. The menu looked amazing and we were tempted by so many items but stayed true to the course, surrendering to our initial craving, along with french fries, cole slaw and their award winning deep fried asparagus. Please save us, Fitbit!! Anyway, we placed our order first and our food was up in about 15 minutes. While we waited, we watched as our companion diners savored what looked to be an amazing lobster bisque. Our names were called and the food popped through the window. At the risk of too much suspense let me cut to the chase: This is the best lobster roll we've tasted! Crispy buttery roll with a small bit of lettuce piled high with the most succulent high quality lobster on the planet that was plucked just out of the adjacent waters moments before. We swooned! We savored! We marveled and licked our fingers! Oh and the fries? Simply the best we've ever had in our combined 122 years. They were divine, twice fried, the perfect size and sprinkled with just the right combination of sea salt, pepper and a touch of garlic. The asparagus was deep fried and served with a delicious homemade ketchup made with Luann's family recipe and even the Arnold Palmer's were outstanding. But back to that lobster roll? It was simply BEYOND! They also have what promises to be an amazing burger, made from high end trimmings and a chicken sandwich that they rave about. I don't think our experience is unique based on the lines, and we are sort of 'foodies', so we can honestly say that this is one lobster shack not to be missed. Even the rest rooms were spotless and well prepped with everything from dental floss (for the true lobster lovers) and mouth wash. I mean, this place is amazing. We're here for another week and we'll be back. We can't wait to tell the proprietors, Luann and Steve that we've thought about little else since we drove out of their parking lot. read more

My husband and I stopped here for lunch on our first wedding anniversary as we traveled home from a stay in Acadia national park. I found claws on Yelp and they had awesome reviews and outdoor waterfront seating and offered the "shack" style we were looking for, you know order at the window, grab any open table and wait to hear the magic number that is yours. I ordered a lobster roll, my husband ordered a burger(he's not big on seafood) and we split calamari(he will eat anything fried haha). Upon learning it was our anniversary the staff insisted on serving our delicious lunch to us and refused to give us a number to be called. When our hand delivered meal arrived so did complimentary champagne!! Like what, this lunch date couldn't get any better!!!!! Then the lobster roll blew me away!! It exceeded every expectation I had of enjoying a fresh homemade lobster roll on the Maine coast.. And his burger was amazing as well, he ordered it medium rare and it was perfect in temp super juicy and not too red or bloody. Claws does it right!! Fresh, home made food and excellent attention to personal customer service!! I will never pass through Rockland, ME without stopping!!!!! From my 79 years experience in eating, the "Claws" lobster and crabs cuisine were exquisite and flavorful. Well worth the price.

A stand on US-1, overlooking the bay. Lobster and lobster roll were excellent. The potato salad side has peas so get the French fries. Seating is on picnic tables, use plenty of napkins and have a ball. read more

This place is absolutely incredible. My boyfriend hit it on our way up and way back from our trip. We got different items each time, because we wanted to try as much as possible. Everything that we had was delicious, and it is so reasonably priced! Also, the family who runs it is so pleasant, and their patio looks over the bay. Had one of the worst experiences that I have ever had in Rockland here. We come here every summer and came here to eat once last summer. We ordered our food at 4:50, as others in our extended family ordered separate meals as well. When we went to check on our order at 5:30 (after everyone else in our extended family had been served), they still were not done with the order. Then I went back at 5:40 and they STILL were not ready. The manager of Claws came and told me to stop asking about the food, and told me other people have been waiting for an hour as well (which was not true). She made no attempt to apologize for the delay, and after waiting a full hour the food finally came. The manager came out, dropped the food at our table without saying a word. Our whole family was so discussed by the event, that we will never come again, and intend to tell others who rent our cottage to do the same. The food was NOT worth an hour wait, and I have never been more disappointed in customer service by a "family friendly" place. read more

Super friendly counter help!!! We had the lobster rolls, which were piled high with meat. They were mostly claw and knuckle meat, I think that is more tender and flavorful anyway. The bathroom is supper clean,well stocked, and entertaining. read more

GO HERE. This place is one in a million. The lobster is fresh and heaping. The piping hot fried clam role with lemon and special tarter sauce was perhaps even better.
