This place ideally works best in groups of 5, but we saw many combinations of families, friends, date nights, etc. We simply reserved online, checked in at the desk, put our stuff in a locker, scanned our wristbands, then went crazy trying all of the different game options. There is a variety of teamwork based games, competitive individual games, strategy, physical, speed, and mind games available. My personal favorites were mega grid, sequence, asteroids, and basketball. I won't give them all away though because that's part of the fun is seeing what all Activate has to offer. Overall, Activate is guaranteed to be a good time. My friend group can get competitive so we got into it for sure. My only small complaint here is that when this place gets busy, you'll have to wait for a room to open up. Come during off peak times and it's literally endless fun, enjoy!

In addition to the super fun go kart racing track, there are plenty of arcade games, some of which are VR, laser tag, and even great food! Think of it as a brighter and better maintained Dave and Busters. It can be a bit pricey but worth the cost in my opinion. Parking is ample so no issues there, and it's in the heart of Katy Asia Town so tons of good food options either walking distance or just a short drive away. The staff were pretty knowledgeable and nice too. Go check it out! It's actually a pretty good date option too. I've been on several there and the wife loves it every time.

Lots of arcade game options, almost everything in working order and clean. The kids enjoyed themselves which was the goal. The bad: The mini track was LAME, for a kid that's never driven before it would be adequate, but our 5 year old drives well (he has a kart of his own at home) he easily could have handled the beginner track and kart. The arcade was over priced for a weekday, and there were no attendants to be found for help with game malfunctions or to get prizes. If we ever make it back to Texas we might make a return visit.

Monster Mini Golf We…read morebought our tickets to play mini golf on Groupon, and we showed up around 3:30 on Saturday. The two teenagers working the desk told us there would be a 40‑minute wait. That would've been fine--except the 40 minutes turned into a full hour. We ended up stuck behind a large 6‑year‑old's birthday party, even though the course itself only had about four people actually playing. Instead of letting us play through or staggering groups, they just had us stand around waiting with no explanation. When we started to play golf, they handed us gaming cards for the arcade, which was very confusing why didn't they give it to us in the beginning so we had something to do, but we didn't come for the arcade, and we weren't doing anything--they just didn't manage the flow well at all. A few positives: the bathrooms were clean, and the place itself is visually fun. But be aware there's no real food available--just tiny bags of chips--and no alcohol. The only drinks for sale are canned sodas. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and not worth the hassle. If you're planning to go on a weekend, especially with a Groupon, I'd say it's not worth the discounts.

The employee even came around ensuring the little ones got something. We went back with a large group of us over the weekend and the machines had gotten so difficult that no one was winning anything and the toddlers were so sad. The machines either wouldn't grip tight enough or would pick up a toy and fling it. After spending $40 and only getting one stuffie we will not be returning here. I've been to a few of these claw places and the fun of it is that these machines are much easier than the stand alone ones at restaurants. We spent 5 tokens on a shooting game and didn't get a single point. I decided to mention it to one of the employees so she went to test it out herself and sure enough the game was broken. She was kind enough to give me my tokens back but it was another disappointing game for my toddler.

He didn't believe us that the games weren't working and just said "Well, the computer says you played 10 games." WE PLAYED ONE GAME SUCCESSFULLY. Spending $20 to play one game is not something I ever want to do again. Plus, my kids wanted to ride the spinning cars ride. We waited in line, only to get to the front and have the employee tell us that closed toe shoes are required to ride! For god's sake, put a big sign on the front of the ride so kids don't wait in line in their sandals only to be told to take a hike!! Cannot express how disappointing this experience was.
